On Saturday December 13, 2003, Mrs. Hildegard Baasch of Drayton Valley, formerly of Evansburg passed away at the age of 94 years.
She is survived by her very close friends, Judith and Fred Kung with their family of Drayton Valley, and ahost of friends and neighbours.
Mrs. Baasch was predeceased by her husband Ferdinand in September of 1965.
Funeral Services were held in the Drayton Valley Funeral Chapel on Thursday December 18, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Eshleman officiating and interment in Evansburg Community Cemetery.
If desired, donations may be made to charity of choice.

Allen John Senenko
(August 23, 1952 - February 13, 2012)
Allen John Senenko, longtime resident of Beaverlodge, Alberta, passed away at home on Monday, February 13, 2012, at the age of 59 years.
Allen was born in Beaverlodge on August 23, 1952, and was raised in the Rio Grande area. He worked at Canfor in Grande Prairie for 38 years. He loved camping, quading, and walking.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 36 years, Lorraine; his three sons: John (Casandra), Todd (Tina) and Dave (Carolynn); his grandchildren: Taylor, Tehgan, Lilyana, Ethan, Ava and Sky; as well as numerous relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
The memorial service will be held on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Beaverlodge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation.
John "Jack" Edward Soars
(July 9, 1916 - February 16, 2012)
John Edward (Jack) Soars, longtime resident of Grande Prairie, passed away at the QEII Hospital on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the age of 95 years.
Jack was born and raised in Peace River but spent most of his life in Grande Prairie. He was well known as an announcer and as host of Alberta’s longest continuing open line show on CFGP Radio. He served the Northern Alberta Broadcast Industry for 45 years and was active in numerous civic organizations and service clubs. He was instrumental in training and promoting many aspiring young broadcasters. Jack loved the Peace Country and its people and felt very blessed to have lived in this magnificent part of the world.
He came to admire the Peace Country and its people through his extensive travel within the region. Walking, driving, and camping throughout the Peace Country was the ultimate pleasure for him.
He expressed his love and enjoyment for his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren daily. Children everywhere gave him great pleasure and always brought a smile to his face.
A gentleman until the end, Jack lived his life with care, respect, and consideration for all: people, animals, and nature.
Jack will be sadly missed by his brother Harry Soars; children Diane (Keith) McKernan, John (Judy) Soars, Gail (Mike) Frey, and Margaret Soars; grandchildren Terry (Cherie) McKernan, Kim (Andy) Lee, Hillary (Morley) Burton, Jennifer (Tim) Norgaard, Chris (Kim) Frey, Craig (Holly) Soars and beloved great-grandchildren Darian, Dailyn, Danika, Soleil, Kai, Paige, Ethan, Emily, Connor, Karlie, and Bryce.
He was predeceased by his wife Vera; his parents; sister-in-law Doris and Vera’s parents; her brothers Donald and Francis Tanner and sister Dorothy.
Cremation has taken place, and at Jack’s request no service will be held. A family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grande Prairie Hospice Palliative Care Society (PO Box 21215, Grande Prairie, AB T8V 6W7) or to a charity of one’s choice would be most appreciated.
Anna Bell Taylor, of Evansburg
On June 20, 2004, Mrs. Anna Bell Taylor passed away in Evansburg at the age of 90 years.
She is survived by one son, Victor (Elaine) of Edmonton; grandson, Donald of Edmonton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Anna Bell was predeceased by her husband, Charles in 1977; two sisters, Stella and Julia; three brothers, Nathaniel, Warren and Roger.
Memorial Services were held on June 25, 2004 at 11:00 am from the Legion Hall in Evansburg with Reverend Stan Braun officiating. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T6G 1Z2

Joseph Frederick Zingle, of Alder Flats
On Sunday August 3, 2003 Mr. Joe Zingle of Alder Flats passed away at the age of 79 years. He will be sadly missed forever; out of sight, but never out of our hearts.
He is survived by Lillian, his wife of 50 years; daughters, Josephine (Norman) Dodman, Georgina Tkachuk, Roxana Carruthers (and friend Mitch), and one son, William (Bobbi-Joe Zingle. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 stepdaughters and their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Joseph was predeceased by his father, mother, stepmother, infant brother, and one sister.
Funeral Services were held at the Alder Flats Community Hall on Friday August 8, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Ewald Wanagas officiating, and interment followed at Alder Flats Community Cemetery.
