Achille (Archie) Plante long time resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta, formerly of Joussard and Kinuso, Alberta passed away at Grande Prairie on Monday, May 23, 2011 at the age of 85 years.
Archie was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1925, the youngest of 16. His family moved to the Joussard area when he was still a young lad. It was there he met his bride Aurore and they were married in 1945. Archie and Aurore raised 10 children on the farm until they moved to Grande Prairie 40 years ago. Once in Grande Prairie he continued to work first for Beaver Lumber and later for Procter & Gamble. Archie was an avid card player, crib being his favorite game. He loved to fish, enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
Archie will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years Aurore; his children; Hedy (Joe) Glenn, Don, Fred (Doris), Georgette Lainchbury, Pete (Janet), Dave (Suzanne), Lillian Green (Theo), Diane (Larry) Naslund, Lucie (Ernie) Ewanchuk, Doris (Patrick) Rego; his 43 grandchildren and spouses; and 41 great-grandchildren; his sister Theresa Prefontaine of Prince George, BC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Archie was predeceased by his parents and his 14 brothers and sisters and his daughter-in-law Rose Plante.
A celebration of Archie’s life will be held at Oliver’s Funeral Chapel in Grande Prairie, Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 10:00 AM.

John Alfred Sinclair
(January 14, 1970 - May 23, 2011)
John Sinclair, resident of Grande Prairie, passed away on May 23, 2011 at the QEII Hospital at the age of 41 years.
John was born January 14, 1970 in Peace River, Alberta and grew up in the Dawson Creek area. He moved to Grande Prairie/Debolt area where he resided for the past 16 years. John was a truck driver doing long hauls with 18-wheelers for various companies over the years.
He is survived by his wife Lynette; daughter Chasity; son Chad; mother Ivy Sinclair; sister Wendy Sinclair; brother Jason, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 11:00am at the Christ Community Church (10106-112 Ave) in Grande Prairie with pastor Brent King officiating. Interment to follow at the Grande Prairie Cemetery.
A wake will begin on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 6:00pm at the Nordic Hall (9831-109 Ave).

Cecilia Helen Morken
(January 31, 1923 - February 4, 2012)
Cecilia Helen Morken, nee Chrenek, lifetime resident of the Grande Prairie area, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the age of 89 years.
Cecilia (known as Cecile) was born on January 31, 1923 in a tent at Luscar, Alberta. She resided on the farm east of Clairmont with her husband George of 51 years.
Cecile was an avid gardener, farmer and lover of animals. She loved the land and all the many types of trees that she planted and grew. She was known for tapping her maple trees and making syrup. Cecile enjoyed following sports, especially the Edmonton Oilers, the Montreal Expos and curling. George and Cecile were known for taking drives in their rural neighbourhood, “just to check the crops.” Cecile proudly followed the achievements of her children and warmly welcomed her grandchildren on their visits to Grande Prairie.
Cecile is survived by her children Gary (Linda) of Victoria, B.C., Valerie (Michael) Nemeth of Lethbridge, Alberta, Alan (Donna) of Rivers, Manitoba, Janice (Gerald) Schlosser of Calgary, Alberta; her grandchildren Amanda (Tony) Gillis, Jamie Morken, Scott Morken, Paula (Mihkel) Kaup, Cidnee (Brent) Lorenz, Christie (Tim) Schipper, Mark (Katie) Nemeth and Alexandra Nemeth and Nathan and Matthew Schlosser; great-grandchildren Hunter, Lanaya and Arden Gillis, Axelle Lorenz and Bennett Schipper; sisters Stephania Chrenek and Mary Chrenek of Grande Prairie, and sister Jane Mercier of Vermillion, Alberta; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Cecile was predeceased by her husband George; her parents Matthew and Mary Chrenek; her brothers Matthew Chrenek and Bert Chrenek; , sister-in-law Josephine Chrenek; brother-in-law James Morken; brother-in-law Andrew Mercier; sister-in-law Melina Morken; sister-in-law Dorothy Thomson; niece Ruthann Thomson; and nephew Dennis Chrenek.
Prayers are at 7:30p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Oliver’s Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 2:00p.m. at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grande Prairie.
MARCOFF, TIMOTHY JAMES
On May 14th, 2008, Timothy James Marcoff of Jasper, Alberta, beloved husband of Valerie passed away in Jasper at the age of 48 years.
Besides his loving wife Valerie, Timothy is survived by his mother Mary Marcoff of Edson, Alberta, his siblings, brother Patrick Marcoff and his sons Andrew of Whitehorse, YK and Evan (Trinia) Marcoff of Edson, Alberta, sister Marilyne Marcoff of Edson, Alberta and brother Dan (Jane) Marcoff and their sons Shane and Steven all of Edson, Alberta and Ken’s children Duane and Lindsay Marcoff of Calgary, Alberta
Also surviving are his mothers and fathers – in – law, Dorothy (Dennis) Sherman of Gunn, Alberta and Ray (Karen) Sherman of Edmonton, Alberta, brothers and sisters – in – law, Byron Sherman of Edmonton, Alberta, Greg Sherman of Sherwood Park, Alberta,
Heather (Brian) Hoekstra of St. Albert, Alberta, Aaron (Lori) Sherman of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Richard (Erin) Sherman of Edmonton, Alberta and Adrian (Laura) Sherman of Edmonton, Alberta.
Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Timothy was predeceased by his father Michael (Mickey) Marcoff in 2003 and his brother Ken Marcoff on April 19th, 2008.
Funeral services for Timothy James Marcoff took place on Tuesday, May 20th, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church in Jasper, Alberta with Father Roger Keeler and Father Donatus Ihekwoaba presiding. Cremation followed this service.

MCLENNAN, Doreen Winnifred
March 12, 1927 - December 30, 2010
It is with grateful hearts for a life well-lived that we announce Doreeen's death. She had a stroke on December 27th, and died, peacefully, on December 30th. Doreen is survived by her loving husband, Bill (Kipnes Veterans' Centre), son Neal, daughter Marni (Jim Matheson), son Kyle, and loving grandson, Scott. She was predeceased by her sister, May Bayly, sisters and brothers Bert, Blanche, Nadine, and Ross Everitt; parents Edith and Charlie Everitt, and Hank (Pat) Thompson. Doreen was a vivacious, outgoing, active woman. Her many friends will miss her generous spirit. Her greatest delight was spending time with Scott or her girlfriends. Doreen and Bill were especially close to Bob and Margaret Allen; great friends forever. Mom loved her life at the Lions; thank you to all her friends there, especially Ivy, for their kindnesses.
