Ivan Larson, longtime resident of Grande Prairie, passed away in Red Deer, Alberta, on June 17, 2013, at the age of 67 years, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ivan was born in Sexsmith, Alberta on September 21, 1945 and was raised in the Eaglesham area. He spent most of his years in Grande Prairie working in the oil and gas construction industry in Northern Alberta. His interests included camping, boating, fishing, golfing, hockey, travelling and being a grandfather.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Dorine, his son Len (Tasha) and daughter Tina (Frank); two very special grandsons Luke and Nolan; brother Roy (Georgie), and sister Sharon (Wes) Reeves; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends.
Today and every day we will celebrate his vibrant soul and strength. “Those we love don’t fade away; they walk beside us every day.”
To honor Ivan’s request there will be no visitation or viewing of the body.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 1:00pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102 St.).

Marie Dow
August 12, 1922 - June 7, 2013
Marie Dow, resident of Grande Prairie, passed away at Points West Living on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the age of 90 years.
The Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 2:00pm at St. Paul’s United Church - Friendship Room in Grande Prairie (10206 100 Ave.).

Herbert Allen Wilcox
August 30, 1941 - June 14, 2013
On Friday, June 14, 2013, Herbert Allen Wilcox, a longtime resident of Beaverlodge, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the age of 71 years.
Herb was born in Lethbridge to Joseph and Esther and grew up in southern Alberta where he learned the family business – farming. Herb went to high school at LCI where he excelled at playing football. During this time he met the love of his life Sherrolynne Ruth Wintemute whom he married on November 29, 1969. After a few more years in southern Alberta, they moved to the Beaverlodge area where they turned a section of land into a beautiful farm on which to raise a family.
He will be sadly missed by his sons: Kayedon (Tamara), and LeeRon; sisters: Barbara, Janice, and Esther; grandchildren Kourtney and Kali; and also by numerous other relatives and friends.
Herb was predeceased by his loving wife Sherry; and sisters Marion and Julie.
For anybody wishing to pay respects, a casual gathering will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at the family farm located 4 miles east of Hinton Trail Hall.

Rene Lucien Belva, of Rocky Rapids
It is with saddened hearts that we must announce the passing of Rene Lucien Belva, of Rocky Rapids, AB, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Rene died peacefully in his sleep on November 28, 2003 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his loss his loving wife of 49 years, Eileen, children Bradley, Laurel and husband Terry, and Glenn and wife Catherine, all of Rocky Rapids; grandchildren Anita, Candace and Rob, Kent, Jana, Lindsey, Erin and Marcy. Great-grandchildren Carsen and Izabella. Sisters Irma Beriault and Glen, SK; Helene and Stan Geddes, SK; Eveline and Billy Jamieson, SK; Mary Milne, MB; Louise and Frank Gawal, MB. Sisters-in-law Marg Belva and Gary, SK and Aline Belva, SK. Numerous nieces and nephews. Rene was predeceased by his father Albert in 1962, mother Angelina in 1991, younger brother Frederick in 1982 and older brother Alcide in 1999.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday December 2, 2003 at 1:00 pm in the Whitby Community Hall with Reverend John Bursey officiating. Interment in Rocky Rapids Community Cemetery.

Wendy Gobeil nee: Smyth, of Sherwood Park
Wendy passed away February 10, 2005. Wendy was born April 27, 1944 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
She leaves her husband Ron. She is lovingly remembered by her two children, Tara and Paul; also by her special daughter-in-law Joanne; and two granddaughters, Samantha and Alexis. She is survived by her father Ross Smyth; brothers, Bob (Eileen) and David (Bonnie); her sister Norah (Clark) Watts; and her brother Bill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Monday, February 14, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, Sherwood Park. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes you to make a donation to St. Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital (Palliative Care Unit), 10707 - 29 Avenue, Edmonton, AB, T6J 6W1.
ELSENHEIMER, Jim
On December 29, 2010 Jim Elsenheimer of Edmonton passed away at the age of 82 years. Jim leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Marlene; his children, Sharon and Carolyn (Darrell). He also leaves his grandchildren; Corinne, Carey, Stephen, Curtis, and Justin. Jim also leaves his most cherished pet Bingo. Jim was predeceased by one daughter Terry Lynn, and a son Robert James, and both his parents Bernard and Melinda.
