Lynn Prefontaine, longtime resident of Grande Prairie, passed away in Grande Prairie on Monday, June 10, 2013 at the age of 59 years.
She was born to Richard and Alice McGuffin in Beaverlodge, and lived in the Grande Prairie area for most of her life. She loved playing fastball, curling, and snowmobiling. She was a very adventurous lady, tenting in the mountains during the winter time until MS robbed her of her physical abilities.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Raymond Prefontaine, daughter Rae-Lynne (Sean) Byerley; two grandsons Weston and Kolton Byerley; son Troy Prefontaine; her father Richard McGuffin; two brothers: Dave (Phyllis) McGuffin, and Kelly (Dee) McGuffin; mother in-law Marie-Anna Prefontaine; brothers and sisters in-law: Helene (Lloyd) Fisher, Denis (Hazel) Prefontaine, Gilles (Sherry) Prefontaine, Diane (Merv) Fjeld, Irene (Guy) Gobeil, Luke (Kathrine) Prefontaine; as well as numerous uncles and aunts, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her mother Alice McGuffin and father in-law Leo Prefontaine.
Prayers will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 6:30pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102 St.).
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 3:00pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Grande Prairie Care Centre (9705 94 Ave. Grande Prairie, AB T8V 3A2), or to the Evelyn Sutherland Foundation (Box 39 Clairmont, AB T0H 0W0).
Blaine R. McIntyre
McINTYRE, Blaine R. - It is with heavy hearts the family of Blaine McIntyre share his passing with family and friends. Blaine passed away from cancer on September 2, 2017 in Cochrane, AB surrounded by his family. Born Aug. 1962 in Edmonton, Alberta, Blaine was the youngest of five children to Dennis Jerry McIntyre of Sundre, Alberta and Vonda Mildred Bernice Hunter of Elphinstone, Manitoba. Blaine is loved and missed by his wife and high school sweet-heart Jocelyn Brett McIntyre, his daughters Katie McIntyre (Edmonton, AB), Robin McIntyre & son-in-law Stephen Chapin (Calgary, AB), and Hannah McIntyre (Cochrane, AB). Also his sister Arlene (James) Wilde of Carstairs, AB, his brothers Wayne (Lorraine) McIntyre of Faust, AB, and Murray McIntyre of Vancouver, BC, numerous nieces, nephews, and the Brett in-laws of Cochrane and Fort Saskatchewan, AB. Blaine was predeceased by sister Jackie-Lynn McIntyre (1959 Edmonton, AB) his parents Dennis Jerry McIntyre (1997 Fort Saskatchewan, AB.) & Vonda McIntyre (2012 Carstairs, AB) and sister in law, Brenda (Kyle) McIntyre (2001 Edmonton, AB.). A Memorial for Blaine McIntyre will be held Saturday, September 24, 2017 at the Cochrane Ranchehouse at 101 Ranchehouse Rd. in Cochrane, AB from 1pm to 4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage a donation in Blaine's memory to the Alberta Cancer Foundation/ Tom Baker Cancer Centre.
EIGEARD, Brenda Lynn
On Friday, December 24, 2010 Brenda Eigeard passed away suddenly at the age of 54 years. She is survived by her loving family, her husband of 35 years, Walter; daughter Jennifer; mother Olga Moysey; brothers and sisters, John Moysey, Vivian Campbell, Sharon Randon, Terry Moysey. She was predeceased by her son Scott; father Mike. A Celebration of Brenda's life will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Augustine's Anglican Church, 6110 Fulton Road, Edmonton with Reverend Bob Peel officiating. Interment of Brenda's urn will take place at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire donations may be made to Victim Services Unit 104 Youville Drive, Edmonton, AB, T6L 7H6.
Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Mohl nee: Hart, of Hanna
Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Mohl, passed away quietly Sunday, January 16th, 2005 at the Hanna Hospital at the age of 85 years, following a short illness.
Betty was predeceased by her parents Eva and George Hart of Hanna, her beloved husband Clarence Mohl (1966), her dear brother Bill Hart of Pinawa, Manitoba (1980), and her loving sister Ruth Gratz of Strathmore in November, 2004.
She leaves to mourn her daughter Eva Katherine Mohl, son Adrian Clarence Mohl, granddaughter Rachel Elizabeth Mohl and grandson William Adrian Mohl, all of Hanna; as well as many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
A private funeral service was held on Friday, January 21st, 2005 at All Saints Anglican Church in Hanna with Father Michael Ebsworth of Lethbridge, AB officiating. Her dear cousin, Frank Stockall of Gibbsons, Alberta, organist.
Interment followed in the Hanna Cemetery with funeral arrangements entrusted to Courtney/Winter’s Funeral Service of Hanna.
Betty was an accomplished artist and naturalist. In celebration of her life we, her family, cordially invite all those whose lives were touched in some way by her to share a remembrance and celebration of her life on February 12th, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hanna Legion Hall Branch #25. Lunch and refreshments will be available and as a tribute to her life an informal exhibition of some of her art works will be displayed.

Bertha Rosalle Faechner, of Calgary
Bertha Rosalle Faechner passed away peacefully at the Rockyview Hospital on Monday, April 10, 2006 at the age of 94 years. She is survived by her sister Edna Bye; brother Harvey (Iris) Faechner; sister-in-law Terry Faechner and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Daniel and Lydia Faechner; sister Anna Pfahl; brothers Dan, William and Herbert; brothers-in-law Reinhold Pfahl and Calvin Bye; sisters-in-law Lily and Margaret Faechner.
Raised on a farm close to the Hand Hills she went to school at the Rocky Hill School. She worked at Hanna Hospital and the Calgary General Hospital until her retirement in Calgary in 1976. She moved to Harrin House in 1990 and enjoyed it very much and had a lot of friends. A Funeral Service was held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery.
