MASSEY, Corinne Helene - November 3, 1919 - October 7, 2017 It is with heavy hearts that we announce Corinne passed away at Rivercrest Care Centre after a short illness at age 97 years. Born in Liverpool, UK and formerly of Quebec, Corinne moved to Fort Saskatchewan in 1984. She was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Ted, in 2010 and her first grandchild, Susan, in 1981. Corinne is lovingly remembered by her daughter Carol (Dave) St. Pierre of Fort Saskatchewan, son George (Monique) of Calgary and son Edwin of New Hampshire. Her extended family includes nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Respecting her wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a memorial celebration at First Memorial Riverview Chapel, 11090 - 86 Ave., Fort Saskatchewan on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 4 p.m. followed by light refreshments. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of one's choice. The family wishes to thank all the staff and volunteers at Rivercrest Care Centre for their thoughtful and compassionate care during Corinne's time there.
Dorothy Edith McDonald
July 10, 1931 - June 5, 2013
Dorothy Edith McDonald, longtime resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta, passed away at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the age of 81 years.
Dorothy was born in Forestburg, Alberta, to Joseph and Edith Haupt on July 10, 1931. Dorothy was a strong and independent woman and among her adventures she traveled north for work. In 1952 she married Colin McDonald in Yellowknife NWT, and that is where her sons Rod and Jack were born. Leaving Yellowknife to return closer to her home, Dorothy and family settled in Heisler, Alberta, where they owned and operated the Heisler Hotel, and where their youngest son Sandy was born. In 1967 the family returned to Colin’s home, in the Grande Prairie area, and is where Dorothy resided until her passing.
Dorothy worked her career as a bookkeeper for a variety of local businesses. She was creative and had a passion for crafts, with her Faberge-style eggs recently on display in the Grande Prairie museum. Dorothy was a great teacher, and researcher, and her work as the family historian will be treasured forever. Her patience and willingness to get down on the ground and play with her grandchildren is something they will remember forever.
She will be fondly remembered by her sons: Rod (Bernice) of Grande Prairie, Jack (Cheryl) of Dawson Creek, and Sandy (Luana) of Grande Prairie; her younger brother Stan Haupt of Kelowna; and her grandchildren: Nyana Kerr, Jeremy McDonald, Nikki McDonald, Alex McDonald, and Olivia McDonald; great-grandchildren Nathan Kerr, Dietta Foster, and Daryol Foster, and 13 great great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews.
She was predeceased by both parents, her husband Colin McDonald, and her daughter in-law Lynda McDonald.
At Dorothy’s request, no service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a cancer related charity of one’s choice.
JYDYK, Maria
On May 18th, 2015, Maria passed away in Jasper at the age of 84 years.
Left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory, her loving family: son Zenik (Luba) Jydyk, daughter Olga (Igor) Pavlyachek all in the Ukraine, daughter Lessia (John) Kontos and their daughter Yulia Kontos all of Jasper, Alberta. Also surviving are six grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Maria was predeceased by her husband Ivan, her son Michael in infancy and her parents Ivan and Barbara.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 23rd, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church in Jasper with Father Miroslaw Kostarzewsky officiating and interment will follow in the Jasper Park Cemetery.
Sarah LeAnn Lamoureux
May 3, 1981 - June 8, 2013
Sarah Lamoureux, resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the age of 32 years.
Sarah Leann Lamoureux was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta on May 3, 1981. She spent the majority of her life in Grande Prairie and area. She graduated from Ridgevalley School in 1999, and pursued a post-secondary education at GPRC, earning an Administrative Technology Diploma. Sarah enjoyed a lengthy career in the Housing Office at GPRC, touching the lives of many students, past and present. She was much loved by both her fellow co-workers and the students she worked with. Sarah had a passion for home décor, displaying excellent taste in her choices of colours, home furnishings and accessories. She also enjoyed cake decorating, camping, quadding, travelling, and especially loved entertaining friends and family. Sarah always had a ready smile, and was noted for her marvelous laugh and outgoing personality.
She will be sadly missed by her parents Darrel and Angie Erickson, brother Matthew, sister Maranda, God-son Evan King; and extended family and friends.
A Viewing will be held on Saturday June 15, 2013 from 11:00-12:30 pm prior to the service at Christian Fellowship Assembly in Grande Prairie (11449 92 St.). The Funeral Service will be at 1:00pm with a luncheon to follow at the church. A graveside service will be held following the luncheon at Lake Saskatoon Cemetery.

Donna Norine Jacklin
May 8, 1951 - June 4, 2013
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Donna Norine Jacklin, loving mother, grandmother, sister and auntie.
Donna leaves to mourn her children, Janine (Terry) Spry, Shawn (Yvonne) Jacklin, and Gary Jacklin. She also leaves behind six beautiful grandchildren that she was so proud of, Cody (Amber) and Lance Spry; Kayla, Triston and Tia Jacklin; and Dolan Jacklin. She also leaves behind her loving brothers and sisters: Doloris Benson, Lynne (Jimmy) Gauthier, Allan (Sheryle) Benson, Larry Benson, Debbie (Ken) Benson, Rose (Kelsey) Coney, Brenda Benson, Patricia Benson, and Tom (Michelle) Benson; along with twenty-four nieces and nephews; twenty-six great-nieces and nephews; numerous cousins and Auntie Fern Martel and Uncle Bert Benson. Along with her immediate family she leaves behind a large extended family including the John Cardinal family and Jacklin families.
She had numerous longtime friends and co-workers. She loved you all and felt blessed to have you in her life.
Donna was predeceased by her spouse John Cardinal in July, 2012, parents Art Benson and Yvette (Benson) Robideau, step-father Alf Robideau, her brother Dennis (Roy) Benson, and nephew James Benson. Donna will be sadly missed but always lovingly remembered by everyone who was blessed to have met with her in this life.
Our family wishes to extend a special thank you for your love & support through everything. A special thank you to Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, Doctors and Nurses in Unit 41, your support and dedication to your jobs made it easier for our family. A special thanks to Dr. Norris, Dr. Westra and her team as well as the Nurses of Five North at the QEII. A special thank you to Donna at the Dialysis Unit in U of A Hospital in Edmonton. Grande Prairie Home Care staff - you guys are amazing.
At Donna's request a Celebration of Life will be held at the German Hall in Clairmont, Alberta at 1:00 pm on Monday June 10, 2013.
