Ryan Walter Radke passed away on October 3, 2004 at his beloved farm in the Hand Hills, Alberta.
Born in Hanna on January 11, 1953, Ryan spent his entire life in the Hand Hills. He took over his father’s (Walter Radke) farm after marrying Geraldine Harvey (his high school sweetheart) in 1972. Ryan also worked as the security supervisor for Sheerness, where his mischievous smile will be missed by all.
Ryan will be forever remembered as a hardworking husband, a brilliant father, a generous brother and a loving son. His dry humour and subtle smirk were hard to escape and will be lovingly remembered by all he touched.
Ryan will be missed by his wife Gerry, his three daughters Danielle (Darin), Andrea and Chelsea, as well as his son Matthew and daughter-in-law Stacey. The loss of Ryan will be felt by his mother Bertha Radke, brother Reg (Kathy), mother-in-law Elsie Harvey, sister-in-law Shirley (Garry) Keibel, brother-in-law Allan (Anne) Harvey, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
A celebration of Ryan’s life was held at the Hand Hills Lake Clubhouse on Friday, October 8, 2004.
Donations can be made in Ryan’s memory to STARS and the Emergency Department of the Drumheller Regional Health Complex.
A star has been named after Ryan: “You were always our guiding light, now you will shine forever.”
Fernande “Fern” Fortin
September 16, 1940 - June 2, 2013
Fernande “Fern” Fortin, longtime resident of Grande Prairie, passed away at Points West Living on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the age of 72 years.
Fern was born September 16, 1940 in Donnelly, Alberta and moved to St. Albert as a child where she completed her education and graduated. She then moved to McLennan, Alberta and worked at the Hospital where she met her husband Paul Fortin. They raised their family in Tangent, Alberta and then moved to Grande Prairie in 1978, where she lived until she sadly passed away. She had seven children, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She will be sadly missed by Paul her husband of 50 years, and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by her parents William and Estelle Lacoursiere, brothers Joe and Marcel and her sister Olive.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 10:00am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102St.).

AHLF, MARGUERITE MILLICENT
It is with great sadness that the family of Marguerite Ahlf announce her passing on July 26th, 2009 at Edson, Alberta . Marguerite was 89 years old.
Marguerite is survived by her loving family; sons, Charles Robert (Annette) Ahlf of Edmonton, Alberta, Doug (Jean) Ahlf of Edson, Alberta, Arthur White Owl (AKA Ken Ahlf) (Jeannette Stabile) of Spruce Grove and John Brian (Lawreen) Ahlf of Peers, Alberta. She is survived by one sister, Mary Parsons of Westlock, Alberta . Marguerite also leaves behind her wonderful 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren who she loved so much.
Marguerite was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Rosa Grasby, and one brother Ken Grasby.
Memorial services for Marguerite were held on July 30, 2009 at the Edson Mennonite Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Raul Gurdian officiating the service. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of a floral tribute the family asks that a donation be made in Marguerite’s memory to the Surprise Lake Society, Box 2391, Stony Plain, Alberta, T7Z 1X8.

Delmer Weegar
December 24, 1936 - June 9, 2013
Delmer Weegar, longtime resident of Bezanson, Alberta, passed away in Grande Prairie, on June 9, 2013 at the age of 76 years.
Delmer was born in DeBolt, Alberta on December 24, 1936.
He will be sadly missed by his son Gerry (Rachel) Weegar; five grandchildren: Bradley, Johnathan, Haylee, Krisania, and Ethan; sister Lorrice Stark; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Betty Weegar, two children Barry and Amanda; his parents Hazel and Rupert Weegar; brothers Harvey Weegar and Earl Weegar.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 3:00pm at Glen Leslie Cemetery. A luncheon will be held following the service from 4:00-6:00pm at the Bezanson Community Hall.

MACKOWAY, Walter Albert
On September 19, 2011, just one day shy of his 72nd birthday, Walter Mackoway of Willingdon, Alberta passed away peacefully after suffering a stroke and fighting a courageous battle against cancer.
Walter will be most remembered for his humour, jokes, wit, and love of storytelling. The greatest joys in life were his family, his children, grandchildren, and many friends. He loved finding treasures for his grandchildren at local auctions, and he will be especially remembered as the "secret" jolly Christmas fellow in the red suit. Walter had a strong commitment to volunteering within his community, and enjoyed visiting with his many friends.
Walter will be forever missed and joyfully remembered by his loving wife of 44 years, Bernice; his children, Lynette (Myron) Esak, Christine (Don) King, Karen (Lyndon) Kendrick, and Kevin (Nicole) Mackoway; his grandchildren, Stephanie Esak, Ryan, Kyle and David King, Megan and Tyler Kendrick and Cody and Katrina Mackoway. He leaves behind his brother, Edward (Linda) Mackoway, and sister, Gale Heinemann (Bob Froggatt). He will also be greatly missed by many extended family members and too many friends to list. Walter was predeceased by his parents, Thomas (2003) and Rita (1995) Mackoway of Vegreville; and brother, Larry David (1957). Sincere appreciation to Dr. Van Wyk and staff at the Two Hills Continuing Care Centre for their care and support.
Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m. at Willingdon Recreation Centre, Willingdon, AB.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Russo Greek Orthodox Church, Shandro, AB. Father Gerasim Power officiating with interment in Church Cemetery.
