In 1948, he came west to hanna and his main goal was to purchase a farm of his own and to do that, he worked as a farm hand for J.C. Hickle and Scotty Swanson as well as working as a coal miner at the Sheerness mine. In 1961 he realized his goal when he purchased his own land at Chinook, AB. In June 2002, he moved to the Hanna Lodge and in may 2003 he was placed into the Palliser Nursing Home where he remained until his passing.
Jack was a community minded person and served on many boards and volunteered for numerous committees and events in the area. He was a good neighbor and friend and was a good Christian man who attended church regularly. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.
Jack loved to curl as a younger man and enjoyed many bonspiels around the country. he loved to travel, go camping and fishing and attend rodeos. He was an avid hockey fan and card player.

But in our time of sadness it is important to remind ourselves that it is not the death of jack but the life of Jack that is worth celebrating.
