It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mavis on September 1, 2014 at the age of fifty-seven.
Mavis is survived by her loving husband Dave of Edson, Alberta and her sons Ryan Holroyd (Shu-Wei Su) and Scott (Angela) Holroyd. Also surviving is her mother Wanda Edgecombe of Edson, Alberta and her brother Mervin Edgecombe of Calgary, Alberta.
She was predeceased by her father Alexander Harold “Harry” Edgecombe in 1995.
Mavis graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan in 1982. She practiced as a veterinarian first in Wetaskiwin, and then in the Edson area with her husband Dave where they built a home, established a farm, and raised a family together. Mavis was a passionate animal lover and horsewoman in her private life as well. As a member of the Endurance Riders of Alberta for almost thirty years, she ran many races with her horses. She also made numerous trips into Alberta’s wilderness in the company of her family and friends.
In keeping with Mavis’ wishes, cremation has taken place and a family service will be held at a future date.
In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the Hinton Community Cancer Clinic Administration office 1280 Switzer Drive Hinton, AB T7V 1V2 or to the Edson Animal Rescue Society Box 7028 Edson, AB T7E 1V3 in memory of Mavis Marie Holroyd.
John (Jack) McCrea, of Lethbridge
John (Jack) McCrea passed away on Friday, January 21, 2005 at the age of 85 years, beloved husband of Effie G. McCrea of Lethbridge.
Jack was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. McCrea of Hanna, Alberta.
He served with the R.C.M.P. in New Brunswick and the N.W.T. and was instrumental in setting up Yellowknife's first newspaper. After leaving the North, he worked at the printing trade on Vancouver Island at Port Alberni, then returned to Alberta to settle in Lethbridge, where he established a printing operation.
Besides his loving wife Effie, Jack is survived by two step-daughters Susan (Terry) Bell of Falkland, BC and Sheryl (Tony) Clairmont of Lethbridge; two nephews George (Wilma) McCrea of Lethbridge and Terry (Gail) Green of Calgary; two nieces Janey (Robert) Garbutt of Medicine Hat and Shelley (James) Wilkins of Calgary; as well as numerous cousins. He was predeceased by a sister Hazel of Calgary in 1987 and a brother Robert of Hanna in 1982.
At Jack's request, no funeral service will be conducted. Cremation. Inurnment in Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge.

DUSSAULT, Lewis Joseph
December 7, 1923 - December 30, 2010
Lou Dussault, formerly of Vimy Alberta, passed away on Thursday December 30, 2010 at the age of 87 years. He is survived by his daughter Carla Landry and spouse Bob Foulds; grand daughter Priscilla Landry; step grand daughter Leah Braulik (Jimmy); sister Margo Brandle and brother Frank (Donna) of California; stepchildren Connie Slauenwhite (Jim), Carmen Calvez (Georges), Guy Magnan (Lena), Phil Magnan and numerous other step grand children, nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday January 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church 12810 - 111 Avenue, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lou's memory to The Heart and Stroke Foundation 10985 - 124 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T5M 0H9.
CHERMEN, Peter
On September 7th, 2014, Peter Chermen of Edson, Alberta passed away at the age of 89 years.
Left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory, his loving daughters, Shirley (Gerry) Stoddart and their children Amy and Brent of Calgary, Alberta and Noreen (Terry) Carter and their children Jeffrey and Christopher of Edson, Alberta. Also surviving is his sister Minnie Tomkow and family of St. Albert, Alberta & sister in law Marj Crawford and family of Calgary, AB.
There are numerous other relatives and a host of friends left to mourn as well Peter was predeceased by his wife Florence on August 10th, 2004 and his parents John and Annie.
Following cremation, a memorial service was held on Saturday, September 13th, 2014 at 2:00PM at Edson United Church With Rev. Kimberly Roy officiating. In lieu of other tributes, donations if desired may be directed to the Edson and District Healthcare Centre for Long Term Care, 4716 - 5th Ave., Edson, Alberta, T7E 1S8 in memory of Peter Chermen.
Nadeau, Lucien
NADEAU, Lucien (Joe) - October 8th, 1916 - April 8th, 2006 - Joe passed away peacefully at the Westlock Long Term Care facility, Saturday April 8th, 2006 at age 89 years. Joe formerly of Pickardville, AB will be dearly missed by his wife Delia (St.Louis) his three daughters; Madeleine Sylvestre, Claire (Jerry) Comeau all of Morinville, Louise (Gary) MacDonald of Abbotsford, BC; his nine sons, Albert ( Joyce), Maurice (Margaret), Norman (Elsie) all of Westlock, Roland (Cecile) of St.Albert, AB, Daniel (Sandy) of Bashaw, AB, Leon (Paulette), Francis (Jeanne), Claude (Debbie), Herve (Elaine) all of Pickardville; and his sister Florence Lambert of Westlock, AB; 30 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews relatives and friends. He was predeceased by a son Paul, son-in-law, Leandre Sylvestre, one brother Gedeon, two sisters, Alice and Rose. Mass of Christian Burial w ill be held on Wednesday, April 12th, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Benoit Roman Catholic Church in Pickardville, AB with Father Dario Abram officiating.
