STRAUB -- Pauline Straub of Calgary, passed away on November 9, 1997, at the age of 82 years. She is the loving mother of John (Erna) Straub, and Ingrid (David) Pasay. Pauline is also survived by her seven grandchildren, and her eleven great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her loving husband Robert on November 14, 1975. SUNDERLAND -- Thomas Irwin Sunderland passed away suddenly, in Arrowwood, Alberta on Sunday, November 9, 1997, at the age of 64 years. Thomas is survived by his brother C. James Sunderland and family; his children, Lorie MacDonald, Randy Sunderland, Gail Fiddes, Rita Pittman, Jody Sunderland, their spouses and eight grandchildren. TROTTIER -- Serge Leon Trottier, beloved husband and best friend of Dana, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Monday, November 10, 1997. He was born in Alexandria, Ontario on November 17, 1949 and moved to Calgary in 1976 for the love of mountains and fresh air. In just this past August, Serge was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. While adapting to his illness, Serge never stopped his love of cars and car racing. He and Dana made trips to Whistler and Whitefish and always searched for the ultimate stretch of open and winding roads that gave him much happiness and joy. As an active member of the Porsche Club of America - Wild Rose Region, Serge loved to autocross, work on his silver bullet and "kick tires" with the guys. Serge's career in the printing industry brought him to Alcraft Printing in Calgary and his meticulous ways and eye for craftsmanship brought him to shops like Paperworks Press and McAra Printing. Predeceased by his brother Alain in 1978. Besides his wife Dana, he leaves behind his parents, Armand and Rita Trottier, Suzette (Bernie) Legault, Colette (James) Somerville, Darquise Trottier; nephew and nieces, Jean, Michelle and Melanie, all of the Cornwall, Ontario area; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Serge will be sadly missed by his driving partner Dana, his family, co-workers and all the friends he shared his life with. The family would like to thank everyone for their generous outpouring of love and support, especially Angelika Gordon, Dr. Coderre, Dr. Wolch and the nurses and staff of Units 54 and 43 of the Peter Lougheed Centre. de NANCREDE -- Mr. Charles Staples Guerard "Gerry" de Nancrede of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Agape Manor Hospice, Calgary on November 6, 1997 at the age of 76 years. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Jill (David) Nelson and Lisa Guerard de Nancrede; and grandson Benjamin, all of Calgary. Gerry is also survived by his sisters, Suzanne Bell and Cynthia Davis, both of Calgary and Katherine McMahon of Vancouver, British Columbia. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara of thirty-five years, parents, Chester and Pauline Staples, brother Otis Staples, and granddaughter Hazel Ann, infant daughter of Jill and David Nelson. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, November 17, 1997 at St. Benedict's Anglican Church, 213 Macleod Trail, High River at 11:00 a.m., the Ven. Archdeacon Robert Griffiths officiating. Cremation was in care of Parklawn Crematorium, High River. ALAIN -- Mr. Zaki Alain, of Calgary, passed away November 13, 1997 at Cedars Villa Nursing Home at the age of 83 years. He is survived by his children, Elais Alain (Souraya), Tony Elain (Ousyma), Lou-Lou Bojakli (Jack), Samir Alain (Samia), George Alain (Reim) and Pierre Alain (Shelly), all of Calgary; twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister Hadie Alain of Calgary; and many other relatives and friends. Zaki was predeceased by his wife Zakie in April of 1996. Zaki has been a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. BUSH -- Reginald (Reg), aged 56 years, of Claresholm, Alberta, passed away suddenly at his residence on November 13, 1997, beloved husband of Barbara; and dear father and father-in-law of Dellrae and Bill Sharpe of Medicine Hat, AB, and Dann and Nicole Bush of Edson, AB. He is also survived by a grandson Tyler; two step-grandchildren, Michelle and Bryan; a brother Don and his wife Leah of Claresholm; two nieces, Lynn (Rob) Cowie of Nanton, Shelley (Norm) Foxcroft of Claresholm, AB; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Campbell and Margaret Macintosh of Claresholm, AB. Reg was predeceased by his parents, the late Les and Alice Bush. Born and educated at Claresholm, he was involved in the Autobody Business for twenty-four years, then farmed and ranched until his passing.
