ELSAESSER -- Eldon Manfred passed away at the Foothills Hospital on October 23, 1997 at the age of 35 years. Eldon is survived by his loving mother Grace Elsaesser; his brother Derek and sister-in-law Nancy of Ottawa; his brother Scott of Calgary; his maternal grandmother Anne Kerychuk of Edmonton; his favorite Aunts, Pearl Tremblay of Chapleau, Ontario and Shirley Wiwad of Edmonton; his Uncle Ray Wiwad; and his "adopted" Aunt and Uncle, Phyllis and Cyril Britton of Canoe, BC. He is also survived by his many friends who will miss him, especially at the Karaoke Bars. Eldon was predeceased by his father Manfred in 1973. Eldon graduated from James Fowler High School in 1981 and spent most of his working life as a driver or salesman of a variety of vehicles. He loved cars and car racing. He was also a lifelong Star Trek fan and had a substantial collection of memorabilia, and hundreds of books and video tapes of all the television series and movies. Following the Cremation, a Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 27, 1997 at FOSTER'S FUNERAL HOMES "Garden Chapel" at 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary. GINGRAS -- Louise Olivine Gingras (nee Janex) passed away peacefully in the care of her loving family on October 22, 1997 at the age of 80 years, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Louise was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Carolyn (Bruce) Sutherland, Philip Gingras and Sharron Kuiper, Diane (Bob) Stewart, Lorraine Cooper and Michael (Dallas) Gingras; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Louise resided in the Blackie area for many years before moving to Brooks in 1968. She was an active member of the Catholic Women's League and was recently distinguished with a fifty year pin and certificate. Louise was predeceased by her husband Adrien in 1959 and a brother Joe in 1978. GREENBERG -- Mrs. Sally Greenberg of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on October 21, 1997 at the age of 80 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, businesswoman and care-giver. Sally is survived by her son Gordon; and three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ruth and Cliff Secter of Calgary, Alice and Bill Abells of Edmonton, and Lavern Gelmon of Vancouver; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Morris. MILLER -- Alvin Finley Miller Sr., passed away at Mayfair Nursing Home on October 23, 1997 at the age of 85 years. Alvin is survived by his loving wife Anne of sixty years; his daughter Sharon Lelonde (Jack); son Alvin Miller Jr. (Lynn) and Joanne Archer (Terry). He also leaves to mourn him, his eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, and one sister from his hometown Carlyle, Sask. Special thanks to the caring nurses of Mayfair Nursing Home during his long illness. Alvin's passing will leave a void in the lives of everyone he knew and loved. YUSKOW -- On Wednesday, October 22, 1997, Frank Yuskow of Calgary, beloved husband of Mabel Yuskow passed away in the Rockyview Hospital at the age of 78 years. Besides his loving "Hun", Frank is survived by his brothers and sisters, Helen Kaspick and husband Vern of Calgary, Carl and wife Lillian Yuskow of Edmonton, Bill and wife Florence Yuskow of Calgary, Tony and wife Harriett Yuskow of Winnipeg, Olga Masur and husband Gus of Melville, Saskatchewan, Nellie Andrews and husband Bill of Birds Hill, Manitoba; and sister-in-law Ann Yuskow of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Harold was born October 21, 1914 at Mabton, Washington, USA. His family moved to the farming district at Millicent, Alberta in 1920. Harold spent his lifetime doing that which he loved, farming and ranching. His love of agriculture was fulfilled at farms and ranches first at Millicent, then Dalroy, Youngstown and Standard. Harold and Idene retired to Big Valley in 1990. Harold will be missed and remembered by his wife Idene; and his sister Dorothy Lundstad; as well as his loving family, daughter Andrea (Walton) Van Dyke; son Zane Block; daughter Kristine (Gary) Smith; and son Jess (Patricia) Block; seven grandchildren, Dee Dee and Jay Van Dyke, Joann (Lorne) Winther, Guy and Kelly Smith, Todd and Chad Block; and great-granddaughter Shelby Winther. He was predeceased by granddaughter Bonnie Block.
