Ruby is survived by her loving husband Bob; her children, Barb (John) Schwarz of Calgary, Bobby (Judy) of St. John, NB, Ron (Phyllis) of Calgary, Terry (Lucie) of Strathmore, Marsha (Jim) McKenzie of Okotoks, Fred (Bev) of Black Diamond, Doug (Yvonne) of High River; as well as numerous loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruby is also survived by four sisters, one brother and her faithful dog Buddy. McMULLEN -- Mrs. Marion McMullen passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on October 18, 1997. Marion was born July 15, 1929 in Calgary, Alberta. In 1953 she married Archie McMullen. Archie and Marion served at the parishes of the Good Shepherd Anglican Church and St. Phillips Anglican Church in Calgary before moving to Stettler in 1969 to serve at St. Georges, Stettler, St. Paul's, Byemoor and St. Margaret's, Scollard. They moved with their family to Red Deer in 1975 where they served at St. Luke's Anglican Church until Archie's passing in 1983. In 1985, Marion went to work at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 35 where she worked on memberships and at the front desk until her retirement in 1994. She had a warm smile and a gentle heart for all those she met, and a gift for making everyone she knew feel unique and special. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, extended family and church family. She leaves to carry on her legacy of love, Maureen (Don) Wielinga and their children, Farron, Matthew, Aleah and Annelise of Neerlandia, Alberta; John McMullen and his children Daniel and Nicole of Red Deer; and her son Jim (Karen Brosseau) McMullen and their daughter Heather of Leduc. A Celebration of Marion's life will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. at New Life Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, 5220 - 77 Street, Red Deer, Alberta. POSTLE -- Norma Postle of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Nursing Home on Tuesday, October 14, 1997, at the age of 88 years. She is the loving mother of two children, Heather (Eric) Deibert of Calgary and Rod (Marian) Postle of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan; six grandchildren, Audrey, Rick, Shelley, Lori, Lee, Glen and their spouses; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother Melvin of Perdue, Saskatchewan; and two sisters, Delia (Bob) and Hazel. Predeceased by one sister Lorna. SHEETS -- Josiah William Sheets, born September 13, 1909 at Sykeston, North Dakota, passed away October 17, 1997 at the Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre at the age of 88 years. Left to cherish wonderful memories are his wife Vera, married sixty-three years; two sons, Ken (Mary) Sheets, Bruce (Pauline) Sheets; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. Bill is also survived by one sister and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Christopher Columbus and Albina May Sheets, six brothers and four sisters. Bill came to Foremost, Alberta in 1910 by train from Sykeston, ND; moved to Sundre in 1928. Bill married Vera Murray in 1934 and moved to Calgary. From Calgary they moved to Olds and in 1953 moved back to Calgary. Bill worked as a carpenter and retired in 1974. Memorial Services will be held in the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, October 21, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. STOCKDALE -- Mrs. Lilly Mary passed away peacefully in Kelowna, B.C. on October 18, 1997 at the age of 81 years. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Carol and her husband Russ, and their children, George and Cheryl; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Rebecca; sisters, Victoria and Fern; brothers, Lewis, Bob and Bill. She is predeceased by her husband Olaf in 1986, her son George in 1958, sisters, Rosalie, Pearl and Edith, and two infant brothers. TOMPKINS -- Dr. Allan David Tompkins passed away in the early hours of October 17, 1997. Born February 11, 1915 at Quill Lake, Saskatchewan, he attended elementary and high school in Kinistino, Sask. and medical school at the University of Western Ontario in London, ON. He interned at St. Paul's Hospital, Vancouver B.C. where he met and married his wife Elsie. Allan served in World War II from 1942 to 1946, spending two years overseas with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corp as a medical officer. After returning from overseas he spent two years in general practice in Cardston, AB. He moved to Vulcan in September 1948, where he resided ever since, retiring from his medical practice December 31, 1990. He is survived by his wife Elsie of Vulcan; two sons, William and Mel; and two daughters, Val and Jan; one grandchild Aaron David Tompkins of Australia; and one brother Dr. Jarvis Tompkins of Vancouver, BC. Interment will be held at the Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Calgary. In lieu of flowers, donations in Allan's name may be made to the local Food Bank.
WADE -- Rodney Archer Wade passed away on October 10, 1997 at the young age of 30 in Calgary, Alberta. He is survived by his parents, Barry and Lise Wade and Marlene Summers; brother and his wife, Michael and Tracey Wade; grandmother Kathleen Mattock of Penticton; and special friend Annabel; many relatives and friends. Rodney was young and full of life and touched the hearts of many. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Intensive Care Unit and Unit 54 of the Peter Lougheed Hospital and for the support that they received from Rodney's co-workers at Canadian Regional Airlines. ZABIELLO -- Veronika passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on October 17, 1997, at the age of 76 years.
