It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Lyndon on October 18, 1997, wonderful father and father-in-law of Lynn Anne (Ken) Becker and Maureen (Lyn) Rohloff; loving grandfather of Gregory (Karen) Becker, Brenda (Brad) Caron, Lane (Pat) Becker, Lindsay (Dave) Collins and Cameron Rohloff; dear great-grandfather of Brad and Brian Caron, Shannon and Codey Becker, Cassy, Derek and Devon Becker, and Connor and Kendall Collins. Lyndon is also survived by four brothers, Douglas and Merton of Vernon, B.C., Perley of Edmonton, and Craig of Spruce Grove. Lyndon was predeceased by his loving wife Iona in April of this year. Cremation has taken place. In accordance with Lyndon's wishes, no Service will be held. Inurnment will take place later at the Medicine Hat Hillside Cemetery. BROWN -- Kathleen Harty. On October 19, 1997, Kathleen Harty Brown (nee: Osler), died suddenly. Kath is survived by her husband Lloyd; and her six sons and their spouses, Hugh (Loretta) of St. Albert, Allan (Ruth) of Calgary, Ross (Megan) of Edmonton, Dan (Ester) of Cambridge, England, Michael (Robin) of Calgary, and James (Lara) of Edmonton. She was also a loving grandmother of five, David, Mark, Thomas, Rosalind and Christopher. She is also survived by three brothers, W.E. Osler of Glace Bay, NS, J.C. Osler and H.F. Osler, both of Calgary. Kath was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Jesse Osler. Prayers were held at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 1997 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 1997, both in St. Michael's Resurrection Parish, 10555 - 50 "A" Street, Edmonton, with Father Leo Floyd as Celebrant. BRONDIJK -- Dr. Johan Frederik Brondijk passed away suddenly on October 13, 1997 at his home in Courtenay, Vancouver Island, B.C. Born in Zaandam, The Netherlands in 1919, "Joop" studied geology at the University of Amsterdam and obtained his Ph.D. there in 1954. He spent his entire professional career in the employ of various companies of the Royal Dutch/Shell group in such locations as Turkey, France, Brunei, Venezuela, Argentina and at the Head Office in The Netherlands. In 1972 he came to Calgary with his family to work with Shell Canada and retired there in 1977. Joop was first married to Margaretha Stroboer and had two daughters, Yoka (J.) and Irene. In 1981 he married Anna Jansen, with whom he spent happy retirement years in Anglemont, B.C. and finally in Courtenay on Vancouver Island. Cremation has taken place in Nanaimo.
GRAFF -- Anna. On October 22, 1997, Anna Graff of Calgary, formerly of Wetaskiwin, passed away at the age of 83 years. She is survived by her loving family, son Donald (Dolores) Graff of Ferintosh; daughters, Doreen (Gordon) Beck, and Maureen (Philip) Unland, all of Calgary; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward (Ella) Winter of Ponoka, John (Shirley) Winter of Camrose; sisters, Martha (George) Woodside of Wetaskiwin, Alma Schierman of Ponoka, Minnie (Erven) Buss of Ponoka, Ruby (William) Gialet of Beaumont; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband William, infant daughter Ruby, sister Freda Dahms, brothers, Wilhelm, Reinhold and Paul. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Bethany Extended Care Centre for the love and care given to their mother. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 25, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. from the Zion Lutheran Church (5417 - 40 Avenue, Wetaskiwin, AB) with Pastor Alfred Lucht and Pastor Terry Defoe officiating. GRENIER -- Victor Emmanuel Grenier passed away peacefully on October 20, 1997 at the Forest Grove Care Centre in Calgary at the age of 91 years young. He is survived by his sisters, Irene Grenier of Calgary, Florence Bouchard of Calgary and Alice Gayse of Sylvan Lake; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Victor was born on January 7, 1906 in Quebec. He lived in the city of Drumheller most of his life until his last three years. He was a life member of the Pioneer Acres Museum Society in Irricana where he shared his passion for antiques, particularly his love for old machinery. Victor will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the pioneer Acres Museum Society in Irricana or a charity of your choice. HOOKHAM -- Roy Hugh, born in Toronto, Ontario, December 18, 1924, passed away on October 19, 1997 at home. He was the last born of three sons, to his late parents, Joseph James Hookham and Jessie Florence Hookham, eldest daughter of Colonel Frederick Charles Denison (Rusholme Branch in Toronto, Ontario). He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy; his only brother Earle (Audrey); his five children, Katherine, Karen (Terry), Dave, Wayne and Ginny (Ron); his grandchildren, Linda, Robert, Rick, Scott, Mathew, Jeremy and Trevor; great-granddaughters, Cayla, Samantha and Leah.
