Lydia Legaspi Reyes passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the age of 78 years after a long battle with kidney disease. Lydia will be lovingly remembered by her children: Edith (Carlito), Beth, Annalie, Edgar (Wilma) and Norman; her grandchildren, Edvin, Stephen, C-Jay, Darryl and Bernadette; and her sister, Flory. Lydia was born in the Philippines and came to Calgary in 1989. She was predeceased by her husband Edilberto (1985) and her mother Anastacia (1989). She will be missed by all as the little lady with a sweet smile even when she was in pain. Lydia’s family extends their appreciation to the surgeons and staff of Unit 53 and 34B of the Peter Lougheed Hospital, the Foothills Medical Center, the Sunridge Dialysis Center, and 3 West Unit of Dr. Vernon Fanning Carewest Facilities. Relatives and friends are invited to Celebrate Lydia’s life in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 from 5:00 - 10:00 p.m. Prayers will commence at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church (5552 Madigan Drive N.E.) on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Richard "Robbie" Robinson
July 14, 1920 - March 16, 2008
Fondly known as Robbie, R.T. Robinson, Cap, Dad, Pop and Papa. Robbie is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Viola Rosella (nee: Smith). Robbie was born in Drumheller, AB and was raised on a farm in Munson. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1941 - 1945. He was also a mechanic, a travelling salesman, and a licensed real estate agent for 50 years. Robbie was a born wheeler-dealer. He was one of the founding members of what is now known as the Calgary Real Estate Board and also the 400 Club. He was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #264, the A.U.U.C and the Danish Canadian Club. Robbie was predeceased by his siblings: Bessie, Luke, Jo, Alice and Kay. Pop will be missed by his sons: Tom, Garry (Madelon) and Cliff (Barbara). Papa will be missed by his grandchildren: Kelly (Amanda), Kat, Shawn (Kirsten), Suzanne (David) and Brett; great grandchildren: Talia, Neil, Theo, Nikolas and Patrick. Cap will also be missed by Vi’s siblings and numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones. Thank you to Dr. Anker and the wonderful staff of Unit 46 at the Rockyview Hospital for their care and attention. July 1, 1945 - March 15, 2008
SCARROW - Sharon Lynn beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother passed away in Calgary, Alberta on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the age of 62 years. Sharon will be lovingly remembered by: her children, Theresa & Joe Kozina, Robert & Sue Scarrow, Mark & Brenda Scarrow, and Dawn Banton all of Calgary Alberta. She is also survived by long time partner in life Sid DeLorme, sister Beverly Campbell and brother Clark Tryhurn. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Nicole, Tara, Nadine, Shawna, Derek, Tessa, Erin, Alisa, Lexis, Ceana, Ashley, Kylie, Katlyn and great grandchild Lillie-Ann. She was predeceased by her husband Leo Scarrow and her parents Ira & Elva Tryhurn, brother James Tryhurn, sisters Eileen Baxter, Hazel Philips, and Dorothy Philips. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Mountain View Funeral Home on Friday, March 21, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home, Calgary, Alberta on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. If so desired, a memorial tribute may be made in Sharon’s name directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (200, 119 - 14 Street N.W., Calgary, AB, T2N 1Z6).
Mrs. Edna Mary Reynolds
September 27, 1922 - March 16, 2008
Edna Reynolds formerly of Ardrossan, passed away March 16, 2008 in Edmonton at the age of 85.
She is survived by her loving family: sons, Don (Yvonne), Darrell (Valerie); grandchildren, Darren, Alissa, Pamela, Terri-Lynne, JoAnne and Chantel; brother, Reginald (Olive) Gray; and many extended relatives and friends.
Edna was predeceased by her husband, Earl Reynolds; two sisters, Mabel Duggan and Vera Chambers.
A Funeral Service will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home, south of Wye Road, on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park, on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 2:00 pm. A visitation will take place 1 hour prior to service. Interment to follow at the Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
Memorial tributes may be made to the Alberta Lung Association.
Mrs. Ruth Evelyn Schumacher
September 29, 1927 - March 14, 2008
On March 14, 2008, Ruth Schumacher passed away, due to respiratory failure, at the age of 80 years. She is survived by her children, Wayne (Diane) Sayers, Ron Sayers, Alvina (Rick) Sheriff, Diana Sayers, Sheryl Sayers, Dale (Sue) Sayers, Ellen (Randy) Lawrence – Sayers, Alda (Simon) Larochelle – Sayers, Terry Sayers (Annette), many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Rolf.
A Memorial Service will be held on March 21, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton.
Mrs. Lorna Muriel Porter
May 25, 1922 - March 14, 2008
Lorna Porter, beloved mom to Linda (Peter), Rick (Kate), Anne (Dave), Laura (Kevin) and daughter-in-law Gerri (Kevin), passed away at the Royal Alexandra Hospital on Friday, March 14 at the age of 85 years.
Predeceased by her loving husband Harvey, her son Bob, son-in-law Owen, great-granddaughter Ellyse, sister Marcia and brother Harry.
Lorna is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who loved GG very much.
Our heartfelt thanks to staff at Rosedale on the Park for years of compassionate care and providing a wonderful home for mom.
A private family ceremony will follow cremation.

Mrs. Catherine Naomi Ridge

On March 5, 2008 Catherine passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 82 years.
Catherine is survived by her children; Noa Mowbray, Vivian (Richard) Bell, and Bob Mowbray. She also leaves her grandchildren; Roanna and Merry Mowbray, Tristan, Tegan, and Tobin Bell, her great-grandchildren; Eric Mowbray, and Taylor and Hannah Mowbray-Lent.
She was predeceased by her husband; Larry Ridge.
A Funeral Service will be held for Catherine on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, south of Wye Road on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park. A reception will follow at the Glenwood Reception Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Edmonton Humane Society or the Alberta SPCA.
