June 29, 1948 - February 24, 2008
TAYLOR - Heber, beloved husband of Mrs. Sharon Taylor, passed away unexpectantly at the Foothills Hospital on Sunday, February 24, 2008, at the age of 59 years. Heber will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Sandy (Troy) Garside; son Jason (Krista) Cormier; and two granddaughters, Ashley and Ceilidh. He is also survived by five brothers and two sisters, his mother Josephine Taylor as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Heber was predeceased by his father, James Taylor. Heber loved watching sports, his favorite teams were the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. He worked at the Bingo Paper Company for over 15 years. His favorite past time was spending time with his granddaughter Ashley who he deeply cherished. He will be sadly missed. A Celebration of Heber’s Life will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. If so desired, a memorial donation may be made in Heber’s name directly to the Lupus Society of Alberta (#200, 1301 - 8 Street SW, Calgary, AB, T2R 1B7).
Mr. Thomas Starchuk
1934 - February 20, 2008
On February 20, 2008 Thomas (Tom) passed away after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Madeleine (Boisvert), his children Darren ( Colleen ) and Carmen ( Jerritt Strong ), his grandchildren Logan, Mackenzie and Zachary, sisters Mary Shapka, Rose Tutty, Kay Cote and Loreen Brick and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Metro, his mother Elena, his brothers Harry, Andrew and Alvin and his sister Wasylena Dolhan.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 27 at 10 am at the Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Church, 9003 – 153 Avenue, Edmonton. In memory of Tom, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1200 College Plaza, 8215 112 Street, Edmonton, Alberta, T6G 2C8 .
Mr. Norman Grant Pulfer
October 5, 1928 - February 20, 2008
Norman Grant passed away at the McKenzie Town Care Centre on February 20, 2008, at the age of 79 years. Norman will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Rosina (Don) Balko and son, Paul (Lynne) Barry; 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Verna (Jim) Ormiseon and Lois (Phil) Mascho. Norm was predeceased by his parents and his two brothers. Norm was raised in Beausejour, Manitoba. He spent 25 years in the Canadian Air Force. He retired in Calgary and spent his retirement years in Calgary and Airdrie. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Mr. Arthur Edwin Scheffelmaier
October 21, 1929 - February 17, 2008
Arthur passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at the age of 78 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Cynthia and their children: Colline (Ron) Seabrook, Doug (Jo-Anne), Perry (Laurie), Jim (Danielle) and Rob (Lisa) as well as fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Art owned and operated Janet Lumber and Trading Co. for over 20 years and had resided in the Chestermere area for over 30 years. He will be deeply missed. A Celebration of Arthur’s life will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation will follow. If so desired, a donation in Art’s name may be made directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association (#204, 2323 - 32 Avenue NE, Calgary AB, T2E 6Z3).
Mr. Richard Ripley
1976 - February 18, 2008
On February 18, 2008, Richard Mark Ripley of Edmonton, Alberta passed away at the age of 31 years.
He is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving parents, Jeff and Dellas; brothers, Jeff Jr (Natasha) and Brett; niece, Layla; grandparents, Andrew Elkow and James Ripley; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A viewing for family and friends will take place on Friday, February 22, 2008 at 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road, where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 10:00 AM.

Gervase A. MacEachern
Gervase MacEachern, 74, of Edmonton, Alta., formerly of New Waterford, passed away April 6, 2003, in the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Allan and Annastasia (McNeil) MacEachern.
Gervase was a paratrooper in the Canadian Armed Forces and was employed with the city of Edmonton until his retirement.
Surviving are his sister, Vincentine Beaton, New Waterford, and several nieces and nephews.
Gervase was predeceased by sisters, Viola Martell, Patricia Dixon, Ida MacEachern, and Dorothy Clements, brothers, Leonard MacEachern and Wilfred Clements.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Mount Carmel Church with Fr. Donald MacGillivray officiating. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
