Mrs. Florence Jensen
August 30, 1919 - February 23, 2008
Florence Jensen passed away February 23, 2008 in Calgary at the wonderful age of 88. Florence was born in Onion Lake, Saskatchewan on August 30, 1919. Florence was predeceased by the love of her life Raymond in 1995, mother Jessie Nolan, father James Vaness, brother Johnny, sister Majorie Bell and 1/2 sister June. Florence is survived by her daughter Barbara, two grandchildren Barry Dale and Laurie Kim, Great Grandmother to Ryan Dylan, sister-in-law Thelma Bower, Gull Lake, Sask., brother-in-law David Learmonth, Tulliby Lake, Alta and numerous nieces and nephews and many wonderful lifelong friends she made in her travels. Florence had beautiful brown eyes that spoke volumes, a mischievous twinkle, a real sparkle when you told her a story and a snap when you deserved it, and soft as a cloud telling you of her love for you. Her eyes held the wisdom of a life well lived. Florence was a homemaker, a pilot, Queen of the Saskatchewan Flying Farmers, and a ready hand on the farm whenever duty called. Dear Mother, your time on this earth was a perpetual flight plan, cancelled with your passing; you were wise to spend each day as though it were the last, to fly at the wind from every quarter, climb high, hesitate and tumble, yet above all, know when it is time to fold your fragile wings. Remember, you are not God like but a mortal, vulnerable pilot; and that is world enough. Florence has flown through and above the clouds, weathered many storms, and come out in the sunshine many times in her life. The final flight plan has been filed, and has the best co-pilot and navigator any soul could have, angels that will carry her on to the highest, brightest, peaks in heaven. Florence's life here on earth was but a mere moment, she will fly the Heavens amid sun and laughter for eternity.
She was a "live life to the fullest" elegant lady.
Florence will be greatly missed by her family & everyone whose lives she touched.
Fly with the angels and your beloved husband.
Florence's "Celebration of Life" service will be held 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 1st, 2008 at Dreamview Village Clubhouse located at 254 Riverview Point S.E. Calgary, AB
In lieu of flowers, please bring your memories to share.
