On March 5, 2008 Karen Boyko of Edmonton passed away after a lengthy illness at the age of 56 years.
She will be sadly missed and remembered by her mother, Margaret, four children; Shannon (John) Manzevich, Deborah Desjarlais, Brent (Beata) Desjarlais and Chelsea Chalifoux, five grandchildren; Andrew, Alyssa, Brooklin, Dylan and Evan, as well as eight brothers and sisters.
Karen was predeceased by her step father Maurice, and her brother Davey.
A memorial candlelight service will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton.
Mr. Paul Gregus
April 22, 1947 - March 3, 2008
GREGUS - Paul, beloved husband of Mrs. Carolyn Gregus, passed away after a lengthy illness at the Foothills Hospital on Monday, March 3, 2008, at the age of 60 years.
Paul will be lovingly remembered by his children, Joe, Tim, Chris (Debbie), Mike and Teresa (Kevin) Clarkson; four granddaughters, Taylor, Kassidy, Jessica and Emma; sister, Barbara (Harry) Westendorp as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, Paul Sr. and Antoinette.
Paul was born in Chatham, Ontario and came to Calgary in 1988.
He ran an inventory company until 1997 when he began working at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
He was Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus until his illness in May of 2000.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayer at Mountain View Funeral Home on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (15 Templebow Road N.E) on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Stefan Ganowicz, presiding.
Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Willi (Bill) Kafer
November 25, 1937 - March 5, 2008
On March 5, 2008 Mr. Willi Kafer of Sherwood Park passed away after a lengthy illness at the age of 70.
He is loving remembered by his wife Rita, three children; Tony (Karen), Rudy (Debbie) and Susan (John), eight grandchildren; Jason, Chantelle, Nicole, Courtney, Brooklyn, Kolby, Damian and Destiny as well as relatives and many friends.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, south of Wye Road on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute
Mr. Mike Hrycun
November 14, 1922 - February 29, 2008
It is with great sorrow and fond remembrance that we announce the passing of Mike Hrycun of Edmonton, formerly of Newbrook, on February 29, 2008 at the age of 85.
Mike leaves behind his loving wife, Olga of 63 years, 2 sons and 1 daughter: Ken (Doris) of Ardrossan, Dennis (Dawn) of Penticton, Adeline (Orest) Bereziuk of Edmonton; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; 2 brothers and 4 sisters: Paul (Emily), Lawrence (Terry), Annie (Metro) Zetaruk, Olga Domshy, Helen Chahley, Michaelina Hrycun (George Ensland); also numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, William and Katie, and 2 brothers, Walter and Victor.
The family wishes to thank wife, Olga, and daughter, Adeline, for being so incredibly supportive during Gigi's illness and aided his every step on the way.
A Celebration of Mike's Wonderful Life will be held on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 10:00 am at Evergreen Funeral Chapel (16204 Fort Road, Edmonton) with interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of floral tributes, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
Mrs. Catherine Babchuk
January 14, 1943 - March 10, 2008
On March 10, 2008 Mrs. Catherine Babchuk of Sherwood Park passed away with family by her side at the age of 65.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband Emil, three children Sheila (Duane) McFadyen, Iaian (Erika) and Michael, 5 grandchildren; Nicholas, Timothy, Liam, Nathan and Gillian, her sister Sheila Smith as well as many relatives and friends.
A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, south of Wye Road on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park.
Inurnment and a reception will follow at Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
