HILDEBRANDT -- Fred Hildebrandt of Calgary was ushered to Glory, January 28, 1998 at the age of 80 years, after a brief illness. Fred and Emma lived at Chestermere Lake for twenty-four years before returning to Calgary in June 1997. Fred is survived by Emma, his loving wife and friend; two sons, Larry (Sharon) and Gerry (Cheryl); grandchildren, Michelle, Tyler, Joel (Julie) and their son Chance, Ryan, and Christi; sister Elizabeth; brother Jack; sister-in-law Barb; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Fred was born in Medicine Hat in 1917 and moved to Champion with his family to farm. He was united in marriage to Emma Rupp in February 1946. Fred and Emma moved to Calgary in 1947 where Fred pursued a career in Auto Body Mechanics. Before his retirement he owned Forest Lawn Auto Body, with his partner Stan Jensen. Fred's life was centered around his family and his church. He will be truly missed. HISCOX -- Ronald Hiscox passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 1998 at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Eileen; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and wife Mariela, Gregg and wife Barbara, and Terrence; also granddaughter Lindsay; three sisters, Doreen, Norah, and Helen; brother-in-law Pat Patterson and wife Sue; nephew Carl Boyle and wife Martha; sister-in-law Barb Patterson; as well as several nieces and nephews. Ron was born in Windsor, Ontario, served five years in the R.C.A.F. and joined Prudential Insurance Co. of America in 1950, transferring to Calgary as Sales Manager in 1956. He enjoyed thirty years of employment and retired in 1981 at age sixty-one. Ron and Eileen loved to travel in their trailers and motorhomes. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 30, 1998 at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 - 4 Street N.W. IRWIN -- Charles Wilcox of Calgary, formerly of Drumheller, passed away in Calgary on January 27, 1998 at the age of 86 years. He leaves to mourn his passing, five children, Ann (Robert) Urch, Carol (Mac) Trapp, Sharon (John) Niven, Tony (Colleen) Irwin, Sandy (Leonard) Stringer; one sister Elizabeth (Lyda) Rodenburgh of Redcliff; twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. JAYE -- Walter C. Jaye, beloved father of Dianne, Donna and Mureahl Jean, died suddenly early Thursday morning, January 29, 1998. He goes to join his wife Jessica who died in 1978. KOROPECKI -- Katherine Koropecki passed away in Edmonton on Thursday, January 29, 1998 at the age of 92 years. Katherine was born in Skala, Borshehew, West Ukraine on April 23, 1905 and immigrated to Canada in 1930 to live in Edmonton. In 1932 she married Stephan Koropecki and moved to Rosedale, Alberta in 1934. She was a very ambitious, progressive business woman. In 1939, Kay and Steve opened the Capital Grocery Store and happily served their customers until 1960 when they moved to Edmonton to enjoy a long retirement. Baba, as she was affectionately known to her beloved great-grandchildren, was an exceptional cook and avid gardener. Her happiness was baking bread and cakes and sharing these with friends and neighbours, along with the fruits and vegetables from her garden. Her profound love and selfless devotion to her family will remain our guide and inspiration. She will be dearly missed by her daughter Jeanne Skytt; grandchildren, Jacqueline (Garnet Goertzen), Suzanne (Bruce Schmidt), Jeffrey (Shari Needham) and Lola; great-grandchildren, Brent, Blaine, Anna-Lise and Shae-Lynn; numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Ukraine. KULAS -- Milan (Mike) passed away suddenly at his home in Regina, Saskatchewan on Sunday, January 25, 1998 at the age of 56. He was born in Sveti Marko selo, Perusic, Croatia. He is survived by his mother Marica Kulas; seven brothers and sisters, Jojkan Kulas, Roza Kulas, Marica (Tony) Valentic (Kulas), Pave Kulas, Nada (Joe) Bicanic (Kulas), Dragica (Mike) Mesic, and Ivica (Cathy) Kulas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Milan was predeceased by his father Jure Kulas, his brothers, Nikola and Milan Kulas, and his sisters, Mandica and Dragica Kulas and Ankica Vlajnic (Kulas). Milan moved to Calgary in 1966, later moving to Regina. His friends and family will remember him as a kind and generous man who thought of others before himself. LOACH -- Angie Loach, beloved wife of Stan Loach of Calgary, passed away at her residence on January 27, 1998 at the age of 44 years. Angie was born on July 31, 1953 and grew up in Dawson Creek, B.C. Angie was married to Stan on June 29, 1973 and resided in Kamloops, B.C. until they moved to Calgary in 1983. She enjoyed passing on her crocheting creations to her family and friends. Angie had a good sense of humor and was always playing jokes and pranks on friends and co-workers. Her smile and sense of humor will be missed by all. Besides her loving husband, Angie is survived by a son Joe; a daughter Tina and son-in-law Craig; grandson Zachary; granddaughter Sammy and her mother Lisa. She is also survived by her parents, Winnona and Harold; two brothers, Dan and Dennis; and two sisters, Judy and Debbie. Angie is also survived by numerous relatives and friends. MARTIN -- Rose (Emmerson) Martin. Rose passed away peacefully on January 29, 1998 at 2:00 a.m. in Calgary at the age of 97 years. Rose was born November 8, 1900 at Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba. She leaves to mourn, two daughters and two sons-in-law, Iris and Hartwell Anholt, Beryl and Ron Fridfinnson; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, three sisters, four brothers, her husband Bill in 1948, daughter Geraldine in 1978, daughter Vera in 1990, also sons-in-law, George and Cecil, and by her second husband Walter in 1990. McLEAN -- Margaret (Marg) McLean, beloved wife of Don McLean of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on Tuesday, January 27, 1998 at the age of 74 years. Margaret was born in Toronto on December 12, 1923. She was married in 1943 and together with her husband, raised a family in Guelph, Ontario, until they retired and moved to Calgary in 1985. Margaret was actively involved with the Dalhousie Mennonite Community Church, as well as Calvary Baptist Church in Guelph, Ontario. Besides her loving husband, Margaret is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Lynn McLean; a daughter and son-in-law, Marney and Bill Burchill; seven grandchildren, Mark, Paul, Scott, Matthew, Brian, Amy, and Stephen, all of Calgary. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Art Jones of Cambridge, ON; and a brother Grant Webber of Waterloo, ON. NIEMAN -- Mr. Eugene James Nieman of Calgary, passed away at the Glenmore Auxiliary Hospital on January 28, 1998 at the age of 77. He is predeceased by his loving wife of fifty years, Helen Nieman. Eugene was born in Medicine Hat on May 11, 1920. Eugene and Helen moved to Calgary with the family in 1957. Eugene was a loving husband, father and grandfather with an impish sense of humor. He will be sadly missed by all.
