On April 16, 2003 Eldon Haug of Edmonton passed away peacefully at the age of 94 years. Eldon is survived by his loving family including his wife of 57 years Hilda Irene (Harper), son Philip and daughter-in-law Lorna Thomas, grandchildren Alex and Cayley, sister Evelyn Wood of Fort Saint John, nephew Eldon (Lynda) Haug and numerous other relatives. Eldon was predeceased by his brother Harvey of Kisby, Saskatchewan. A memorial service celebrating Eldon's life will be held on Wednesday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Memorial Chapel, 10530 - 106 St., Edmonton. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at the Mewburn Veterans Centre for their care and support. HORRICKS, Alvin Russell
Mr. Alvin Russell passed away in Phoenix, AZ, on February 23, 2003, two days after his 70th birthday. The son of Hazel and Henry Horricks, Alvin was born February 21, 1933 in Daysland, AB, and grew up in the Wetaskiwin area. He lived the majority of his work life in Edmonton and divided his time in his retirement between Stony Plain and Arizona. He will be missed by friends at his Yuma winter golf paradise, particularly Yvonne MacCubbin of Kamloops. At his summer home in Stony Plain he will be remembered by his cats, Smoky, Satan and Silver; good friend Joe Shennan; co-workers from Celanese Canada; his buddies on the golf course; and Gold Wing motorcycle enthusiasts. Alvin was predeceased by his wife Eunice in 1984 and is survived by siblings Deanna Tannas (Kelowna), Ferne Lentz (Tappen, BC) and Willard Horricks (Belleville); two children, Barbara (Victoria) and Russell (Edmonton); four grandchildren, Katherine, Sarah, Oscar and Ryan; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins. A Memorial Service for Al will be held on Monday, April 21, at 3:00 p.m. at Parkland Funeral Chapel, 3502-44 Avenue, Stony Plain, with family and friends gathering at the Stony Plain Legion afterward for refreshments. On April 17, 2003, Mrs. Anna Jahn passed away at the age of 94 years. She is survived by her son Ferdinand (Elsie); 2 grandchildren: Harold and Anita as well as many relatives and dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband Reinhold. JAMISON, William Ernest (Ernie)
February 27, 1924 - April 11, 2003
On April 11, 2003 Ernie Jamison of St. Albert passed away at the age of 79, with his family at his side. He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley; son Duff (Sandy); daughters Mary, and Sarah Kosloski (Todd); and grandchildren Evan and Ellery Jamison and Taylar Kosloski. He leaves his sister Audrey Joly (Frank) of Victoria; and brothers Spence (Betty), Jack (Dorothy) and Jim all of Edmonton and area. He was predeceased by his sister Doreen. Ernie is the former owner and publisher of the St. Albert Gazette and served as MLA for St. Albert between 1971 and 1979. He was hospitalized at the Cross Cancer Institute in August 2001, spent time at the Glenrose, Sturgeon and Grey Nuns hospitals and resided at the Dickensfield nursing home from June 2002 until his passing. The family extends its thanks to doctors, nurses and staff at all these facilities. Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 21 at the St. Albert United Church, 22 Green Grove Drive. Cremation has taken place and Ernie will be interred at St. Albert Cemetery. JOHNSON, Gene
With sadness the family announces the passing of Gene Johnson on April 15, 2003 at the age of 73 years. Gene is survived by his loving wife Isabel, his children Mona, Brian, Lloyd, Stan and their families, 12 Grandchildren, 9 Great-grandchildren, two sisters, Lil and Edna as well as two brothers Bob and Carl and sister-in-law Lois. Gene was born and raised in the Edmonton/Westlock area. He spent all his adult life working in the oilfield industry and made his home in Slave Lake and Widewater. His family and friends will sadly miss him. At Gene's request there will be no funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the University Hospital or St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hospital where his wife Isabel resides.

On June 1, 2003, Mrs. Alice Mildred Barrett of Edmonton, formerly of Carbonear, Nfld., passed away at the age of 60 years. She is survived by her four sons, Wayne (Sandra) and Shawn (Claudine), all of Newfoundland, Todd of Edmonton, and Trevor (Joanne) of Newfoundland; six grandchildren; two sisters and three brothers, Shirley Barrett of Texas, Doris Ranson and David (Brenda) Barrett, all of Ontario, Bill (Helen) Barrett and Lloyd (Joyce), all of Newfoundland; and sister-in-law, Kay Barrett of Newfoundland; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and acquaintances. Predeceased by her parents, John A. and Emma and one brother, John in 1997. Born August 3, 1947 passed away peacefully at her home May 31, 2003 with her daughter Amanda by her side. Leslie will be forever loved and remembered by her daughter Amanda and fiance Sebastian. Survived by her brothers Richard (Joan), Michael (Jacqueline); Aunt, Uncle, cousins, nieces and nephews, Stephanie, David, Molly, Niki, Mary Ann, Tessi, Keely, Patrick, Anna . Predeceased by her sister Sheila McNear; parents Pat and Olga Flood. Leslie will be remembered for her generous heart, love of nature and free spirit. Leslie touched the lives of all who knew her. On May 31, 2003, Mrs. Mary Boyko of Vilna passed away at the age of 82 years. Adam was born in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan and passed away in Edmonton, Alberta.
