She is survived by her daughter Mardy (Dan); and her two sons, John (Faralee) and Bob (Diane); and ten grandchildren. Born at Westlock, she was proud f her Alberta heritage. Overcoming lifelong challenges caused by childhood polio, she failed to see herself as a person with a disability. After graduating from Camrose Lutheran College, she spent several years working for the Alberta Government in the Audit Department. Unable to dance herself, she used her musical skills to entertain troops at the Edmonton Y during World War II. After the war, she graduated from the University of Toronto. From then on she used her skills to teach and encourage many young people to make the most of their abilities. Later she became a counsellor to disabled students at Mount Royal College. She was an active member of the Calgary Handicapped Association and on the committee which negotiated better ridership facilities for the handicapped on the Calgary Transit System. Betty was very active in the life and work of the United Church in the four pastoral charges her husband served at, Kingston, ON, Nipawin and Saskatoon, SK and St. Matthew's in Calgary. For a number of years, she was a member of the Division of Mission in Canada, at the General Council Level. Betty will be remembered most fondly for the inspirational life she led by all who knew her. This was based on Romans 8:28 "All things work together for good to them that love God." CROMWELL -- George Cromwell, departed Friday, January 9, 1998. EWING -- Margaret Ewing (nee Hanson) of Bethany Care Centre left this world peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 1998 at the age of 83 years. FLOER -- Mr. Edward Donald Floer, beloved husband of Mrs. Cecilia Floer of Okotoks, passed away at the age of 64 years. Born in Minton, SK on April 30, 1933, he has been a resident of Okotoks for the past thirty-eight years. Besides his loving wife, dward is survived by his sons, Lance and wife Judy of Mirror Lake, B.C., Trevor of Okotoks, and Darren of Calgary. He is also survived by two brothers, Andy (Sophie) and George (Margaret); and four sisters, Katie Gerle, Clara Briltz, Dorothy (Mike) Ehrmantraut and Jean Blumhagen. HAMILTON -- Alma Hamilton (nee Morrison) of Calgary, passed away at the Carewest Sarcee Long Term Care Centre on Saturday, January 10, 1998, at the age of 95 years. Alma was born on July 26, 1902 in Abernethy, Northwest Territories, now Abernethy, Sakatchewan. After living in Winnipeg, Manitoba for a few years, she moved to Neepawa, Manitoba in 1918. She married Harry Hamilton of Neepawa in 1919 and through Harry's work with the Canadian National Railways, they later moved to Dauphin, Manitoba in 1926, Kamsack, Saskatchewan in 1932, Jasper, Alberta in 1947 and Calgary in 1956. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Marion; a nephew John James, whom Alma raised from childhood and his wife Susie, all of Calgary; a grandson Harry and his children, Michael and Jessica; a granddaughter Nancy and her husband Chester Schesnuik; a grandnephew Shaun and his wife Christina, all of Calgary; a grandniece Michelle and her husband Chris Kruhlak of Canmore, Alberta; a brother Glen of Las Vegas, Nevada; three sisters and a brother-in-law, June Salazar of Santa Monica, California, Shirley Swanson of Kelowna, British Columbia, Audrey and Fred Mallett of Kelowna. Alma was predeceased by her husband Harry in 1988. JEFFERY -- Christopher James passed away suddenly December 22, 1997, at age 10, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Pocetello, Idaho. Chris will be sadly missed by his father David Jeffery, and mother Elaine Arbuckle. Also rieving his loss are brothers, Michael, sixteen years, Kevin, fourteen years, Nathan, thirteen years, and sister Erin, nine years. Christopher was also much loved by his Grandad James Jeffery; and grandparents Percy and Audrey Sykes; many aunts, uncles, and cousins and all that knew him. Chris was predeceased by his Nana Bev Jeffery, and cousin Douglas Sykes. Chris (Chuckie) will be remembered for his beautiful smile and caring heart. Chris acquired his nickname from a special friend while watching the Rugrats cartoon. His strawberry hair, freckles, front teeth and special innocence gave Chris a special place in the hearts of those who know him. Chris was an up-and-coming basketball player and loved the Utah Junior Jazz team. He also liked to bike ride, play baseball, volleyball and recently learned to water-ski. We are all better for knowing Chris and will share in his memory. Christopher was buried in Riverton Cemetery, Riverton Utah on December 29, 1997. Special thanks to all family and friends in Calgary and Riverton who have supported us throughout this difficult time.

MacKILLOP -- Donald Matheson MacKillop of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Mayfair Care Centre on January 11, 1998 at the age of 89 years. Donald is survived by his loving wife Kaye (MacDonald); and their daughter Barbara; two grandchildren, Mar and Kim; and great-granddaughter Taylor, all of Calgary. He is also survived by his nephew Allister MacQuarrie and niece Donna Himmelman of Nova Scotia; and three nieces of the U.S. Donald was predeceased by his sisters, Sally MacQuarrie and Mary MacDougall, and his brothers, Angus, Kenneth and Roy. Danny was born in Grand River, Cape Breton in 1908, the son of Rev. Ewan and Mary (Matheson) MacKillop. He moved to Pictou, Nova Scotia in 1951 where he managed G.J. Hamilton and Sons until his retirement to Calgary in 1978. Danny was a member of the Philae Temple, Halifax; the Sydney Lodge No. 84; the Cape Breton Masonic Lodge; and the Scottish Rite. He received a plaque in 1990 for fifty years service to the Philae Temple. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Interment will be at the Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney, Nova Scotia. If friends so desire, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the charity of choice. RENNELS -- Walter McDougall Rennels, beloved husband of Winona, passed away at the Colonel Belcher Hospital on January 10, 1998 at the age of 79 years. Walter was born in Winnipeg on October 19, 1918. He resided in Winnipeg, Toronto, Oakville and Calary during his association with General Accident Assurance as Branch Manager. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of fifty-eight years, Winona; a son James; a daughter and a son-in-law, Linda and Barry Harrison; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alan and Shirley Elcombe of White Rock, British Columbia; as well as seven grandchildren, David, Cheryl and Russell Harrison, Brenda McCafferty and her husband Sean, Carolyn, Kevin and Jason Wolsey, all of Calgary. ST. GODDARD -- Fern Eileen St. Goddard, nee Winacott, passed away peacefully January 11, 1998 at the Agape Manor Hospice following a courageous battle with cancer at age 48 years. She is greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her common-law husban Norm; sons, Jayce (Justine), Chad; daughter Breanne; grandsons, Brendan, Nyall; granddaughter Sian; mother Carol Robb; father Lloyd Winacott; sisters, Gail (Steve), Janis (Tom), Linda (Doug); nieces, Kyla, Danielle; nephews, KC, Jordan; dear friends, Bertha (Kevin), Holly (Jerry), Joyce (Michael), Linda (Cornell). Fern was predeceased by her dearly beloved grandfather Floyd Winacott and grandmother Pearl. Born on January 30, 1949 in Edmonton, Fern spent her childhood in Saskatchewan. The remainder of her life she lived with her children in Calgary, having a brief residence in Vancouver, B.C. She was able to attend Mount Royal College to pursue her lifelong dream of a career in Social Services. Sadly, her illness prevented her from completing this academic goal, however, one of her many gifts was her ability to put others ahead of herself and help them through life's many difficult trials and tribulations. She was a true lover of nature, her children always came first and she held the highest regard toward family ties.
