On October 11, 2002 Marie Helmak of Edmonton passed away at the age of 52 years. She is survived by her loving mother, Paulina Helmak; brother, Jerry (Patricia); nephew, Mark (Sue) and grandniece, Elizabeth, as well as nephew, Bryan, all of Edmonton; and other relatives and friends. Divine Liturgy Friday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Exaltation of the Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Church, 9003 - 153 Avenue, with the very Reverend Don Bodnar officiating. Interment at St. Michael's Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1200 College Plaza, 8215 - 112 Street, Edmonton, AB T6G 2C8. HENDERSON, Gordon Albert
Gordon Albert Henderson of Vegreville, Alberta, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, October 15th, 2002. Born at Vegreville, Alberta on December 19th, 1924. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 54 years, Marjorie; son, Brian (Angie) Henderson of Vegreville; daughter, Elaine (Rupert) Mullins of Fort McMurray; granddaughters, Leah Henderson of Vegreville, Lana (Wayne) Roach of Vermilion, Leanne Henderson of Vegreville, Lisa (Monty) Mullins of Fort McMurray; grandson, Leslie Henderson of Vegreville; great-grandchildren, Brianne, Kelsey, Crystal and Brandon; brothers, Alvin of Nanaimo, B.C., Norman (Betty) of Sherwood Park; sister, Norma (Ken) Altree of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Several dear sisters-in-law, numerous special nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Mildred; sister, Dorothy and brother, Donald. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 18th, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Vegreville United Church, 5126-48 Avenue, Vegreville, Alberta with Reverend Gerald Wallace officiating. On Monday, October 14, 2002, Olga Kotylak (nee Stachniak) of Edmonton, formerly of Waskatenau, Alberta, passed away at the age of 96 years. Olga is survived by her loving children, Peter (Stella), Lena (Ed), Paul (Edwena) and Evelyn; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Peter, John and Bill; and three sisters, Kate, Anne and Lucy. Predeceased by her loving husband, Onufrey; infant daughter, Sophie; daughter, Mildred; son, John; sisters, Mary and Ethel and brothers, Alex and Roy. Prayers Thursday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 6425 - 120 Avenue. Divine Liturgy Friday, October 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church. MARTIN, Wayne Wilson
On Sunday, October 13, 2002, Wayne of Camrose, Alberta formerly of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta passed away suddenly following a motor vehicle accident at the age of 26 years. Left to cherish his memory are, his loving wife, Emily (nee Hutchings); one son and one daughter, Noah Gary, age three years and Jessica Carol, age one year; his father, Gary; one sister, Leann and her daughter Makenna; maternal grandmother, Jean McMahon; paternal grandparents, Melvin and Nellie all of Fort Saskatchewan; Emily's parents, Lorne and Jean Hampson of Strome, Alberta and Jeff Hutchings of Grande Prairie, Alberta; one brother-in-law, Russell Hutchings of Banff, Alberta; also numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Wayne was predeceased by his mother8, Carol and maternal grandfather, Ben Thate. "Wayne was devoted to his family and will be greatly missed". Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at First United Church, 10409 - 100 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta with Reverend Ken De Man officiating. Wayne's final resting place will be in the family plot at the Fort Saskatchewan Cemetery. If so desired in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Wayne may be made to a trust fund being set up for Noah and Jessica. She was predeceased by her first husband, Walter Karwash; father, Alex Rarog; two brothers, John and Edward; five sisters, Agnes Romanchuk, Frances Spasiuk, Albinia, Helen and Annie Angel; step-daughter, Rose Matisko. Prayer Service Friday, October 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Hainstock's Funeral Chapel, (34th Avenue & 98th Street), Edmonton. On December 3, 2002, Eunice Marie Gauthier of Edmonton passed away at the age of 87 years. Survived by one son, Reverend Clement Gauthier and one daughter, Rolande (Roger) Girouard of Penticton, B.C.; three grandchildren, Yvonne, Ellen and Marc; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Trudy Phillipchuk of Edmonton. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gedeon Gauthier and her second husband, Aage Christophersen.
