KACZMAREK, Marian
June 19, 1921 - February 3, 2003
On February 3, 2003 Marian passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife Hedwig; his three children Rajmund (Shirley), Susann (Marc) and David (Gisele); as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by numerous other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to honour Marian will be held on Friday, February 7, 2003 at Hainstock's Funeral Home (9810 - 34 Avenue) at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, Box 5738 Edmonton, Alberta T6C 4G2. KEECH, Catherine Mary
Catherine Mary Keech of Edmonton passed away on February 1, 2003. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Bill; daughter-in-law Karen; grandsons Jon and Greg of Calgary; cousins Helen Schumacher of Wetaskiwin and George (Joyce) Wardner of High River. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at St. John The Evangelist Church, 11111 - 57 Avenue, Edmonton. KOHN (SCHNEIDER), Maxine Louise (nee McRAE)
With deep sorrow, the family announce the passing of Maxine on February 4, 2003. She was born and raised in the Camrose area. Maxine leaves to mourn, her husband Alan; daughter Terry-Mac Klauwers (John); three sons Gerald (Anke), Murray (Alison) and Scott; two step-sons Murray (Jane), Marty (Marie); one step-daughter Leslie Kirkpatrick (Brian); four grandsons Deryk, Adam, Kiel and Alec; two granddaughters Tatym and Daley; three step-granddaughters Christine, Shelley and Stephanie; two step-grandsons Cory and Jesse; one step-great-grandson Kyle; two sisters Rosamond Burkard (Joe), Marlene Badach (Gordon); one brother Jack McRae (Noreen) and also by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father John McRae in 1984; her mother Barbara in 1999; and her first husband John Schneider in 1982. Prayer Service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Leduc (5105-45A Street). Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Leduc with Reverend Stephen Hero as Celebrant. Interment to follow in the Leduc Cemetery. In lieu of floral tributes, donations may be made to Salem Manor Nursing Home (4419-46 Street, Leduc, Alberta T9E 6L2). LAM, Lau Fun
On January 30, 2003, Mrs. Lau Fun Lam of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away at the age of 91 years. Left to cherish her memory are her five loving children, Lynn (Poy) Mah of Edmonton, Shirley Lee of Edmonton, Victor (Amelia) Lem of San Francisco, Sylvia (Ken) Mah of Portland, and Jeff (Geni) Lem of Red Deer. Mrs. Lam also leaves 18 grandchildren and 12 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Lam Sui Wing. Affectionately known as "PoPo", Lau Fun came to Canada from Hong Kong in 1966 and resided in Edmonton for 27 years and the last 10 years in Red Deer. She will be remembered for her love of family, friends, people, cooking and her garden. She touched everyone in her special way with her laughter, generosity and unconditional love. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 8, 2003, 1:30 p.m., at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, in the Wild Rose Chapel, with Reverend Joseph Mung, officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot in Beechmount Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T6G 1Z2; or to the Red Deer Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit #37. LEIGHTON, Joseph
On January 19, 2003, Joe Leighton of Edmonton passed away at the age of 88 years. Born in Kilmarnock, Scotland, Joe emigrated to Canada with his mother and sister in 1921, to settle in Winnipeg. He joined the R.C.A.F. in 1942 and served until the end of World War II. Married to Muriel Shanks Tollick in 1944, he raised his family in Winnipeg, Toronto and Edmonton, where joined G.W.G. until 1983. Joe's interests were many and varied, among them music, photography, sports and drama. He helped to found the Second Edition Players out of a seniors' drama class at the University of Alberta. Joe will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by Muriel, his wife of 58 years; son, Neil (Lydia); daughter, Joanne (Len); also seven grandchildren, Christine (Emile) James, Caylae, Darren, Jenelle, Kendall and Connor. A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity United Church (8810 Meadowlark Road) on Saturday, February 8, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. with Minister Margaret Hetherington and Reverend Norman MacDonald officiating. MacDONALD, Shanna Sylvia
With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Shanna MacDonald. Shanna was born in Fort McMurray on February 25th, 1981. She moved with her family to Edson, Alberta in 1985 and resided there until her passing on February 2nd, 2003. She will be greatly missed by her beautiful daughter Morgan MacDonald; her parents Debbie and Andy MacDonald of Edson, Alberta, Grandma and Grandpa Boyce and Lillian Tucker of Little Bay Islands in Newfoundland; Grandma and Grandpa Andy and Madge MacDonald of Lumsden, Saskatchewan; brothers Aaron and AJ MacDonald of Edson, Alberta; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Shanna was predeceased by her great-grandmothers Mildred Jones and Lydia Tucker in Newfoundland. Funeral Services for Shanna will take place on Saturday, February 8th, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Edson United Church with Reverend Lexi Nash officiating. Cremation will follow the service. OTTO, Marianne
On February 3, 2003 Marianne Otto of Spruce Grove passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Marianne was 61 years of age. Left to mourn her loss is her son Chad of Spruce Grove; sisters Doreen (Ron) Stoltz of Acadia Valley, Carol Vold of Hanna; brother Dennis Gieron of Acadia Valley and sister-in-law Hazel (Nelson) Modin of Ardrossan. Marianne is also survived by many loving loving and supportive nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Marianne was predeceased by her husband Vernon on January 15, 2003. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Acadia Valley Catholic Church. MADILL, Eric Brian
Unexpectedly, Eric B. Madill, husband of Linda (McCready) Madill passed away in Edmonton, Alberta on April 19, 2003. Born September 10, 1949 in Edmonton, Eric was the eldest son of Bert Madill and the late Florence Madill (Peterson). In addition to his father and his wife, Eric is also survived by two brothers and one sister, Greg Madill (Lorena) of Victoria B.C., Doug Madill (Melanie) of Edmonton, Bev Milton (Dave) of Edmonton and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at Ellerslie Road Baptist Church (10603 Ellerslie Road) in Edmonton on May 1, 2003 at 4:00 p.m. An interment will be held at Glenwood Memorial Gardens on May 2nd for family members. McLEOD, Harry Duncan
On April 24, 2003, Harry Duncan McLeod of Spruce Grove passed away at the age of 86 years. Harry is survived by his two sons, Duncan (Dalene) and Morgan (Sharon); four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Yolande McGinnis; one brother, Douglas (Nan); special friend, Jean Buxton; as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, William and LInda; and a brother, Gordon. MIX, Nettie
On April 23, 2003 Nettie Mix of Edmonton, beloved wife and mother passed away in her home at the age of 72 years surrounded by her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Lorne Mix, and her children Carol Mowbray (nee Mix) of High River, Alberta, Allan Mix of Los Angeles, California, and Bonnie Mix and Cameron Mix of Edmonton. Grandma's memory will be cherished by four grandchildren, Jordon Mowbray of Calgary, Amberley Pitman ( nee Mowbray ) and Laryssa Mowbray, both of High River, and Holly Mix of Los Angeles, California. Nettie was predeceased by her mother Marie Fedorak (nee Bidniak) at a very young age, her father Humphrey Fedorak in 1986, and brother Andy Fedorak in 1992. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2003 at 1 p.m. at the Balwin Community Hall, 12904 - 74 St. Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the The Capital Health Authority Regional Palliative Care Program. Nettie's family would like to thank Dr. Spooner, Dr. Schipper and especially, Dr. Hammond, for their kind support. As well, the family extends appreciation to the staff of Bayshore and the Capital Health Palliative Care Program whose help assisted them in caring for Nettie at home.
