On November 17, 2003 Poula Larsen passed away at the age of 95 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Ruth (Hans) Laursen of Gibbons, eight grandchildren, Bjarne (Marwynn), Anne (Rick), Bo (Alaura), Stig (Laurie), Niels (Terri), Ingrid (Kevin), Ben (Joy) and John; 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Svend in 1983, and son Bent in 1997. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 22, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Strugeon Memorial Chapel (5016-47 Avenue), Bon Accord, AB. Interment to follow at the Bon Accord Cemetery with Pastor Ken DeMan officiating. On Sunday, November 16, 2003, Mr. Joseph Lysyk of Mundare, Alberta passed away peacefully at the age of 91 years. Joseph is survived by one sister, Olga Chaykowski of Winnipeg; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Lysyk of Mundare; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Joseph was predeceased by his parents, Sam and Mary Lysyk; four brothers, John, Andrew, Harry and William; two sisters, Anne and Katherine. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Russo-Greek Orthodox Church in Mundare. NICOLAS, Josephine Dalangin
In honour of our beloved Mother, Josephine Dalangin Nicolas, we would like to announce that after a life of lavish loving, generous giving, and selfless sacrifice, she is now at peace in the arms of our Lord. She passed away at the age of 50 in Edmonton on November 17, 2003. She is survived by her three children, Jennifer (Brian) Smeenk, Reginald (Marivic) and Renee Rose Nicolas; her grandchildren Maleah and Joshua; her siblings Modesta (Gerry) Plantte, Flor (Bernie) Pagsanhan, Antonio (Daisy) and Rolando (Sally) Dalangin; as well as numerous family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Ronaldo, and parents Petra and Conrado Dalangin. The family wishes to thank the Staff of the U of A Hospital for all their care and compassion. On Wednesday, December 10, 2003, Mrs. Albina Halder of Wabamun, Alberta, passed away at the age of 95 years. She is survived by her loving family; one son Walter (Maxine) of Wabamun, one daughter Sister Mary Halder, Sister of Service of Toronto, Ont., four grandchildren Sherrie (Greg) Westerlund, Dale (Christine) Halder, Don (Nadia) Halder, Mark Halder, one great-grandson Max Westerlund, and numerous nieces and nephews in Germany. She was predeceased by her husband Maximillian in 1976 and one sister. On Tuesday, December 9, 2003, Mrs. Elsie Hendel of Derwent, formerly of Derwent, passed away in the Vermilion Health Centre at the age of 82 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Louis of Derwent; son Dwayne (Valerie) of Edmonton; grandchildren Scott, Susanne and Jennifer all of Edmonton; three brothers and four sisters. Elsie was predeceased by her parents; her son Ron and one brother. JEWELL, Jessica "Norah" Theresa
"She will be deeply missed and her memory will be treasured always"
On Saturday, December 6, 2003, Norah Jewell passed away peacefully at the Allen Gray Continuing Care Centre. She is survived by her loving husband Kenneth, her son Laurence, and her daughter, Sandra Blatt. She was pre-deceased by her infant son, David in 1944 and her daughter, Lorraine in 1999. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her grandchildren Angela, Michelle, Sean (Shannon), and Gregory as well as her great-grandchildren Jessica, Jeffrey, and Nathan. Norah was born and raised in London, England and came to Canada as a war bride in 1945. She lived in the Athabasca area for many years and later moved to Edmonton where she remained until her death. Her sense of humour, her love of family, and her joie de vivre will be greatly missed by all who knew her, as will her strength of character and her boundless spunk. The family extends their gratitude to the staff at the Allen Gray Continuing Care Centre for their care and support during Norah's final years. There will be no Funeral Service. Cremation has taken place and her family will witness the interment of her ashes at Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Sherwood Park.
