Margaret Elizabeth Cropley, of Spruce Grove

Mrs. Margaret Cropley of Spruce Grove, formerly of Genesee and Lindale passed away suddenly at the age of 77 years.

Margaret is survived by three sons: David (Pat), Robert and Kim(Peggy-Sue); daughter Judy (Ralph) Weir; seven grandchildren: Daniel Cropley, Pamela (Shane) Petrie, Christopher (Dana) Cropley, Dianna (Rob) Hutchinson, Sean, Cody and Lacey-Jay Cropley; six great-grandchildren: McKenna, Sophie, Nathan and Lola Petrie, Jessica and Jullian Hutchinson; a half-brother Jack Woodroffe; one half-sister, Joan Lorincz; numerous nieces, nephews and friends as well as her devoted companion “Max” and former daughter-in-law Sharon Heidt.

She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, one half-sister and three brothers.

At Margaret’s request no formal funeral service will be held.

Margaret Anne Brown (nee: Joiner), of Leduc, Alberta

“Maggie” passed away peacefully on July 24, 2004 at the age of 64. She will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and her caring and compassion for others, as well as her wonderful smile and sense of humor. Her memory will always be cherished and she will be truly missed by her children, Donnalee Anaka of Townsville, Australia, Deanne (Darcy) Culp of Leduc, AB and Warren (Charlene) Brown of Spruce Grove, AB; her grandchildren, Jared, Dayne, Jordan, Joshua, Jace, Jenae, Tyce and Dawson; her mother, Edythe Joiner; her sisters, June (Peter) Degenstein, Glenna (George) Redlich and Marilyn (Michael) Whipps as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family and friends. She is predeceased by her father, Stewart Joiner.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 5th at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Peter Heritage officiating at Tribute Funeral Services Chapel, 4810 - 43A Ave., Leduc, AB. The family wishes to thank Dr. David Woolliscroft and the staff at the Leduc Extendicare for all of their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Extendicare, 4309 - 50th St., Leduc, AB T9E 6K6, or the Alberta Lung Association, P.O. Box 4500, Edmonton, AB T6E 9Z9.

Nicholas Clinton Sendziak, of Calmar, Alberta

On July 22, 2004, Mr. Nicholas Clinton Sendziak of Calmar, AB passed away at the age of 96 years. He is survived by two sons, Gordon of Calmar and Joseph (Linda) of Sexsmith; two grandchildren, Stephen and Joel (Tammy); two great-grandchildren; Nichelle and Clinton, all of Grande Prairie and one sister Effie Brown of Leduc. Predeceased by his wife, Katherine; three brothers and five sisters.

Prayers were held Monday, July 26, at 7:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Thorsby.

Divine Liturgy was held Tuesday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. Reverend Sylvester Kuzel, OSBM officiated with interment in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Cecil Douglas Bredin, of Warbug

Cecil Bredin of Warburg, Alberta passed away peacefully at home with his wife, Lorraine by his side on Monday, November 10, 2003 at the age of 82 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his family, his wife Lorraine; sons Dale (Vivian) of Drayton Valley, Gary (Bernie) of Warburg, Colin ( Christina) of Breton, Pat of Edmonton; eight grandchildren, Shannon (Darren), Fletcher, Colette, Correne, Marcus (Lenior), Connor, Ryan, Cameron, and two great-grandchildren, Anna and Mathew.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Warburg Community Hall with Pastor Phyllis Greenslade officiating. Interment to follow in the Warburg Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Cecil may be made to the Warburg Memorial Arena or the Edmonton Cardiac Fitness Institute.

Ema Hildagarde Scheinas nee: Froelich, of Leduc

On November 11, 2003 Erna Hildagarde Scheinas of the Sherwood Park Care Centre, formerly of Leduc passed away at the age of 80 years.

Erna is survived by her loving children, Lloyd Scheinas, Julie Scheinas, Jan(Jim) Deters, all of Leduc and Dolly (Dallas) Tews of Edmonton; grandsons Brian (Connie) Tews, Andrew Tews both of Edmonton; Michael and Steven Deters of Leduc; brother Walter (Gertie) Froelich, sisters Hilda (James) Tobin, Irma Carlyle-Bell, Edith Frick and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur and parents Henry and Julianna Froelich, an infant son Leonard and sister Gertrude Johannsen.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church, Leduc (4606-48 Street) with Reverend Greg Kern officiating. Interment to follow in the Leduc Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Thank you to the Sherwood Park Care Centre for the care given to mom these last few years.

Sophie Mary Doel nee: McDonnell, of Wetaskiwin

On November 8, 2003 Sophie Doel of the Wetaskiwin Long Term Care passed away at the age of 95 years.

She is survived by her brother Edward Popielec; niece Ireena (Bogdan) Belkot; nephew Walter (Eva) Popielec and their families in Poland. Sophie will be fondly remembered by her step family the Doels, and by her long time friends. She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers; her sister Mary Bertnick and by her husbands Anthony McDonnell and Percy Doel. Special thanks go to Dr. D. Jefferies, and the staff of Wetaskiwin Long Term Care for years of compassionate and loving care.

Funeral Services were held at Sacred Heart Church, 5113-49th Avenue Wetaskiwin on Thursday, November 13, 2003 at 1:30 pm with Internment at Wetaskiwin (Old) Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to S.T.A.R.S. or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Alexander John Klak, of Leduc

On Thursday, November 6, 2003, Alex Klak of Leduc passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 91 years. Alex was born in Poland, immigrated to Canada as an infant with his family and spent 68 years of his life in Leduc.

Alex will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by Henrietta, his devoted wife of 66 years; two sons, Oscar (Maureen) and Edgar (Pat); five daughters, Ida (Melvin) Hickey, Sylvia (Gordon) Page, Jean (Bruce) Kelly, Phyllis (Dale) Johnson and Genevieve (Rolly) Owens; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim Klak; one sister, Emily (Ed) Plummer; and one sister-in-law, Marion Klak; as well as numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by one grandchild, one great-grandchild; two brothers, Walter and Wally and two sisters, Bertha Bancarz and Mary Bulas.

Prayers were held on Sunday, November 9 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 5105 - 45 A Street, Leduc.

Mass of the Resurrection to Celebrate Alex’s Life was held on Monday, November 10 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Richard Bednar officiating. Cremation followed in the Park Memorial Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Extendicare Leduc, 4309 - 50 St., Leduc, AB T9E 6K6 (for resident equipment).

Wayne Orville Manchak, of Calmar

Wayne Orville Manchak (1942-2005) passed away peacefully on January 27, 2005. Wayne will be missed by his wife Debbie; children Renata, Tobyn and Daphne; mother Stella; sister and brother-in-law Karen and David Corbett; nephews Craig and Colin; sister Maurena and her fiancé Tom and his niece Cassidy and nephew Cale.

Wayne was predeceased by his father Lester in 1972.

Wayne was born and raised in Calmar, Alberta. Wayne enjoyed life to the fullest. He started his career with the RCMP at age 18, stationed throughout British Columbia until his retirement after 34 years of service.

Early morning coffee with his buddies and lunch hour swims were daily events. His favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, woodworking and being with family and friends.

He was loved by all. A celebration of Wayne’s life was held on January 29, 2005 at the United Church in Chemainus, British Columbia.

Dorothy Marian Felske, of Calmar

On January 30, 2005 Dorothy Marian Felske of Calmar, Alberta passed away at the age of 72 years.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband Norman; four sons, Greg (Doreen) of Wetaskiwin, Sid (Lois), Brian (Marie-Ange) both of Calgary, Brent (Darla) of Coaldale; eight grandchildren, Dale, Aaron, Matthew, Jenna, Cole, Brittney, Jesse and Lindey; three brothers, Walter (Alice) Schmidt of Kelowna, BC, Charles (Elrose) Schmidt and Harry (Diane) Schmidt, both of Langenburg, Saskatchewan and also by many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Phillip and Regina Schmidt, both in 1985.

Funeral Service was held on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 2:00 pm at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Leduc (51 Avenue and 50 Street) with Reverend Dr. Steven E. Harold and The Reverend Harold C. Clark officiating. Interment followed in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Nisku. If relatives and friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to The Lutheran Hour or to The Lutheran World of Relief.
