Lloyd Douglas Dickson, of Leduc,AB

On Saturday, October 2, 2004 Lloyd was tragically taken from us. He will be greatly missed by his mom and stepdad, Pat and David Greenlay; his dad and stepmom, Al and Marylou Dickson; his brothers Fred (Shawna) Dickson, Ben Greenlay and Toby Willians; nieces and nephews Dylan, Jakob and Grace; many aunts, uncles and cousins and his grandmothers Hazel Dickson of Glendon and Jean Madison of Leduc.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 8, 2004 at 2 pm at the Leduc Family Worship Centre, 4310 Black Gold Drive, Leduc with Pastor Rob Farbin officiating. Interment will follow in the Leduc Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Crime Stoppers Association, 2nd Floor, 6768 - 75 Street, Edmonton, AB. Avon Neiman (nee: Luedtke), of Leduc, Alberta

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Avon on September 27, 2004 at the age of 87. Avon will be lovingly remembered and missed by her 3 children, Harvey (Myrna) Luedtke, Sheila (Tom) Miller and Linda (Andy) Hiller, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and the extended Neiman family.

Avon was predeceased by her first husband, Victor Luedtke in 1981, by William Neiman in 2002 and 1 grandson, Kirby Doucet in 1994.

A memorial service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 4606-48 Street, Leduc at 2 pm on Friday October 01, 2004.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the staff at Extendicare for all their kindness. In lieu of floral tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Extendicare in Leduc.

Thomas (Tom) Devine, of Leduc,Alberta

On September 27, 2004 Tom Devine of Extendicare Nursing Home, Leduc passed away.

Tom will be lovingly remembered by family and friends: one brother John (Pat) Devine; one sister Martha Funk; nieces and nephews and especially these extra special family members, Margaret MacRae, Jennifer and Josephine Street, as well as his other four grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 1, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Leduc Royal Canadian Legion, 5210 - 50 Avenue, with Reverend Peter Heritage officiating. Interment will follow in the Field of Honor in the Leduc Cemetery.

Wayne P. Gilbey, of Leduc,AB

The family sadly announces the passing of Wayne P. Gilbey. He leaves to celebrate his life, his wife Dorothy; son Leslie; daughters Dara (Jean-Pierre), Marissa and Carena; mother Joan; brother Howard ( Dorothy); sister Janice (Ron) Ilko and their families; in-laws Lawrence and Mary Banack, Marybelle Wideman (Ron), Laurie, Lyle (Leaha), Glenn (Hazel), Allan (Connie) and their families as well as many other relatives and friends. Wayne was predeceased by his father, Leslie (Buddy). Prayers were held Wednesday, September 22, 7:00 p.m. at St.Michael’s Catholic Church 5105-45A Street, Leduc. A memorial service was held Thursday, September 23, 10:30 a.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, South of Wye Road on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park. Donations may be made to Stars Ambulance, Sport Central (Tiger Goldstick) or a charity of one’s choice.

Stella Bachkowski, of Warburg, AB

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Stella Bachkowski of Warburg on September 18, 2004 at the age of 92 years.

Stella is survived by her loving family, her daughter Rosemarie (Stan) Zurek of Thorsby; grandchildren, Gerald (Cheryl), Karen and Brian and her great-grandson, Nolan. She also leaves her brothers, Nick Gabinet of Lamont and Peter (Mary) Gabinet of Edmonton, her sisters, Rose Kobasiuk of Edmonton, Emily Ruzicki of Abbottsford, BC, Helen (Adam) Wilchak of Delph and Olga (Mike) Kurylo of Redwater as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Stella was predeceased by her husband Paul in 2002, an infant grandson Michael in 1968, her parents Martin and Agnes Gabinet, one brother and four sisters.

Prayer Services will be held on Friday, September 24, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Thorsby. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 25, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Michael Mireau officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery, Thorsby.

Donations in memory of Stella may be made to your favorite charity.

Antonia Brunken nee: Sagert, of Leduc

On Monday, March 22, 2004, Antonia Brunken of Extendicare, Leduc, went to be with her Lord and Saviour at the age of 90 years.

Antonia is lovingly remembered by one daughter Inez (Larry) Barkley, one son Edward (Emily) Brunken, 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Lawrence (Lorena) and Walter (Lena) Sagert, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband William, one son John and two grandsons.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 5012 - 51 Ave., Leduc, AB with Reverend Harold Clark and Reverend Dr. Steven Harold officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Helen Hangartner nee: Kulicki, of Leduc, Alberta

At age 54, Helen Hangartner of Leduc passed away after losing a long and courageously fought battle with cancer. She is survived by: her loving family, husband of 33 yrs., August *Augie*, children Deborah Lynn and Jeffery August; three brothers, John, Thomas, and Edward; four sisters, Josephine, Ruth, Jane, and Elizabeth. She was predeceased by her parents, Ludwika and Thomasz; brother Alexander and sister Mary.

Helen was a loving wife, a caring mother and a best friend to all who knew her. She had a beautiful smile, a gentle voice, charm, grace, and sense of humor that made others feel comfortable in her presence. She will be dearly missed.

Family and friends wishing to pay their respects may do so on Friday, January 23, 2004 anytime from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Hainstock & Sons Funeral Chapel, Leduc. A memorial service to celebrate Helen’s life will be held during a weekend Bluegrass Jam at a private campground early in May. Every one is welcome to come camp, play or just to enjoy the music. Leslie Theodore (Ted) Oulton, of Warburg

With sadness we announce the passing of Ted Oulton of Warburg (formerly of Leduc) on January 10, 2004 at the age of 85 years.

Ted is survived by his loving family, sons; Douglas (Brenda), Edward (Suzanne) of Whitehorse, Yukon and Bryon (Heather) of Beaumont and daughter Juanita Oulton (Terry Smith) of Leduc, grandchildren; Leslie, Heather, Mallory, Eddy, Elly, Willy, Katelyn, Maegan, Travis and Stephanie, also his companion Toni of Leduc. Ted was predeceased by his wife Audrey, his parents Leslie and Florence, brother Lyle, nephew Milton and also his beloved dog “Snowball”.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at St. David’s United Church, 4614-48 St., Leduc with Reverend Blaine Gregg officiating.

Memorial donations may be forwarded to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Annie Marie Robinson, of Leduc

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Annie Marie Robinson of Leduc (formerly of the Strawberry District) on January 10, 2004 at the age of 92 years.

Annie is survived by her loving family; her son Jack (Marilyn) of Thorsby and daughters, Marie Wegner of Thorsby and Margueritte (Willard) Robinson of Breton, also by 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Annie was predeceased by her husband Lloyd in 1986, son-in-law Herbert Wegner, brother Archie MacLean and sister Jessie Robinson.

A visitation was held on Thursday, January 15, 2004. Funeral Services will be on Friday, January 16 at 2:00 p.m. at the Strawberry Community Hall with Pastor Phyllis Greenslade officiating. Interment will follow at Telfordville United Church Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be sent to the Parkinson’s Society of Alberta or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
