They had a son Ken in 1983, and after an extended trial period, Derryl and Diane married in 1996. Being adaptable, Diane was able to transpose herself from the city to country with ease. She learned about farming, one of her prized accomplishments, as well as having jobs outside of the farm. She worked at Berzel's until they closed, then had a short stint at Scotty's in Westerose before commencing work at the Falun Co-op where a source of pride for her was her knowledge in the hardware department.
Diane's life revolved around her family, friends, the farm, community and was actively involved with the Falun Community League.
Her generosity was both an asset and a downfall.
In the spring of this year, Diane faced her greatest challenge when she became ill with cancer. As always, she fought like a country girl.
The support from friends and community is overwhelming. Diane will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by those whose life she touched.
