On October 20, 2005 Bert Schraven of New Sarepta, Alberta passed away at the age of 82 years.
Bert is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Rick; children, Marjorie (Ken) Karpowich of Millet, Patricia Schraven of New Sarepta and Peter (Janice) Schraven of Kelowna, B.C.; grandchildren, Mona, Matthew, Dwight, Chris, Kimberly, Diane, Kathy, Allan, Niome, Kabrie, Carl, Brandon, Sheldon and Whitney; three great-grandchildren; three sisters in Holland as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Bert was predeceased by his sons, Frank and Casey. Memorial services were held from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wetaskiwin on Monday, October 24, at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Jim Corrigan officiating. HANNA, William James Orton

On Tuesday, February 10, 2004, our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, William Orton Hanna, passed away peacefully at Breton Nursing Home after a long and full life at the age of 93. Orton will be sadly missed and forever loved by his children, Ken and wife, Gladys, Darlene, Jim and wife, Evelyn, Don and wife, Sandra; brother, Carmen; sister, Blanche; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife, Eltha; cherished daughter, Velma; his parents, William and Mabel; sisters, Katherine, Dorothy, and Eva; brothers, Henry, Willis, Jack Jr., Tom and grandson, Darren. A funeral service was held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 14, 2004, at Poplar Valley Church, located 4-1/2 miles west of Winfield on Highway 13, and 1/2 mile north on Poplar Valley Road, with the Rev. FAULKNER, Constance Laura Jane (Connie)
On Thursday, February 12, 2004 Mrs. Connie Faulkner of Leduc, Alberta passed away at the age of 76 years. She is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her three sons, Reg (Ramona), Gary, Dennis (Heather); three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Charlie (Margaret); sister, Tresses (Roy). On May 1, 2004, James Claire Young of Wetaskiwin, Alberta passed away at the age of 68 years. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Doris; daughter, Gladys and Walter Mahowich of Willingdon, Alberta; sons, Wayne Henschel of Wetaskiwin and Ron and Iris Henschel of Camrose; three step-grandchildren and five great-step-grandchildren; sister, Lorna and Bud Deyell of Medicine Hat; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Claire was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Mary Young and by an infant sister, Mary in 1934. SCHOFER, Edith (Ida)
Florence Ida Schofer of Wetaskiwin, Alberta passed away on April 28, 2004 at the age of 87 years. She leaves to mourn her passing, her loving daughter and son-in-law, Janlyn and Brian Arndt of Wetaskiwin; six grandchildren, Jocelyn and Darryl Urano of Calgary, Jay Watson of Olds, Jennifer Watson of Calgary, Dale Arndt and Anne of Victoria, Kelly Arndt and Simon of Dresdan, Germany, Scott and Angie Arndt of Edmonton; great-granddaughter, Rylie Carl Urano; sister, Adeline Lang of Vancouver, B.C.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Ida was predeceased by her husband, Carl in 2001; son, Gordon in 1949; brother, Albert and sister, Vi. Ida worked side by side with her husband operating the Esso Service Station on 3rd Ave. East in Melville, Sask. until their retirement in 1972. Following their retirement they spent 19 winters travelling south and the summer months at their cottage at Melville Beach. They moved to Wetaskiwin in 1998. The family wish to thank everyone for their kindness in your prayers, thoughts and deeds. On April 28, 2004, Mr. Hans Danielson of Wetaskiwin, Alberta went to be with the Lord at the age of 87 years. On August 8, 2004 Mrs. Florence Viola Edlund of Gwynne passed away at the age of 77 years. She was born in Bonnyville on December 12, 1926. She will be lovingly remembered by her family: daughter Sandra Lorimer (Dan) of Vernon, BC and their sons Riley (Rhiana) and Sean; daughter Cheryl Doering (Percy) of Wetaskiwin, her son Jason and daughter Cameo Schmidt (Jason) and their daughter Payton; daughter Marilyn Zielke (Dallas) of Gwynne and their children Sarah, Tristan and Tyson; son Murray Edlund (Laurie) of Gwynne and their children Evan, Brett and Maia; five brothers; four sisters; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Vernon Edlund on May 4, 1982; grandson Tyler Doering in 1984; and three brothers. On August 20, 2004, Vernon Grenville Henry of Wetaskiwin, Alberta passed away at the age of 73 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Joan; son, Stephen and Candace Henry and grandson Jet of Edmonton; sisters, Gladys Blagden of Lavenham, Man. and Noreen (Barney) Marantz of Winnipeg, Man. and other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Hugh and Gertrude Henry and brother-in-law, Cliff Blagden. Over the years, Vern was active in the community with Fish & Game, Seniors Curling Association and for many years coached minor hockey and softball. On August 29, 2004 Vina Thorn of Wetaskiwin, Alberta died peacefully at the age of 99 years, three months short of her 100th birthday. Gladys was born at Crieccieth, North Wales on August 15, 1922. She passed away suddenly in Tofield, Alberta on August 25, 2004 at the age of 82 years. She is survived by her three children, David (Bev) of Cochrane, Anne Pradine and Pat Jones of Tofield; three grandchildren, Jason Pradine, David Jones Jr. and Tracey Jones; one great-grandson Gary Pradine; one great-granddaughter Shaelynne Jones; three sisters and three brothers and their families in Wales and many friends in Tofield and Hobbema. Gladys was predeceased by her husband Griff in 1997; son-in-law Lorne Pradine in 1979; her parents; one sister and one brother-in-law.
