Mr. Earl Erickson of Stony Plain passed away at the age of 96 years.
Earl will be sadly missed by his loving family; one son, Neil (Nadine) of Stony Plain; two daughters, Gwen (Jim) Awid of Edmonton and Marilyn (Jim) Garrett of Bowie, Texas; six grandchildren, Tim (Ruth), Jamie, Bradley, Glenda, Elizabeth (Curtis) and Nathan; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Victor (Hazel) Erickson of Edmonton as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Earl was predeceased by his loving wife Freda in 2001, his parents; Emilie and Gustaf; one sister and five brothers.
A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, October 3, at 2:00 P.M. from Parkland Funeral Chapel, 3502-44 Ave., Stony Plain with Reverend J.J. Trudeau officiating.
Cremation has taken place.

Hohnstein, Evelyn Emilia (nee Ulmer):
December 23, 1929 - September 27, 2002
Mrs. Evelyn Hohnstein of Stony Plain passed away at the age of 72 years.
Evelyn will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Bill; two sons, Wesley (Cynthia) and Bradley both of Stony Plain; two grandchildren, Chelsea and Tyson; her mother, Mrs. Bertha Ulmer of Stony Plain; one brother, Edwin (Adele) Ulmer of Stony Plain as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Evelyn was predeceased by her father, Karl and one brother, Walter.
A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, October 1 at 2:00 P.M. from St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 5021-52 Ave., Stony Plain with Pastors William Ney and Victor Morris officiating.
Interment followed in St. Matthew Church Cemetery.

Prokuda,
William (Bill) Sr.
On Tuesday, March 4, 2003 William (Bill) Prokuda Sr. of Glenevis passed away
peacefully at home with his family at his side at the age of 78 years.
Bill Sr. will be forever remembered by his loving wife of 59 years Olga; son
William (Jr.) (Mary) of Glenevis; daughters Jeannie (Jim) Hayes of Stony Plain
and Patricia (David) Davies of Calgary. Eight grandchildren, Julie,
David (Kristina), Billy-Joe and Natalka Prokuda, Jane (Chris) McIvor,
Jason Hayes, Dean and Derek Davies; great-granddaughter Kendall Prokuda.
Two brothers; Earl of Sechelt, BC and Walter (Winnie) of Neudorf, SK.
Predeceased by his parents Sam and Katherine and brother Henry.
Bill Sr. was a born farmer, spending over 60 years in the Glenevis area.
He was so proud of his family, his prize winning fruit trees, his music
and dancing. Bill loved to ‘kick up his heels’. He will be missed.
Prayers were held Friday, March 7, 2003 at 7 p.m. at Holy Eucharist
Ukrainian Catholic Church, Cherhill. Funeral Service was held Saturday,
March 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Glenevis Hall, Glenevis. Reverend Peter Brezden
officiated with Interment in Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church
Cemetery, Cherhill. Donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

CUNNINGHAM:
(nee Jespersen)
Irene Cunningham (Ming) of Sundre joined her husband, Don and daughter
Betty in heaven on March 8, 2003. Irene was born at Stony Plain on
June 4, 1915. She completed her schooling in Stony Plain and then went
on ot attend Prairie Bible Institute where she met her husband to be for
55 years, Donald Cunningham. She felt lead to become a missionary to
China and married there in 1942. In China, they had many harrowing
experiences, her husband Don was jailed by the Communist. The family
including the three children born in China and were deported from China
back to Canada in 1952. From 1952 until 1964, Irene and her family
were parents to 50 missionary children in Three Hills. In 1964, they
were asked to join Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship and manage the
Pioneer Lodge at Sundre. Through life’s trails and hardships, Irene
remained a source of boundless energy. She was happiest doing things
for others. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew her, and
especially her family. Irene is survived by her children Gordon (Nancy)
Cunningham of Sundre, Marion (Al) Schafer of Canmore, Allan (Elizabeth)
Cunningham of Sundre, Elwyn (Theresa) of Sundre; grandchildren Kristie,
Aaron (Chelsea), Marty, Heidi, Karla, Megan, Jeffery and Amanda;
brothers Ralph (Bernice) Jespersen, Stan (Norma) Jespersen and Walter
Jespersen; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Memorial service was held on Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at 1:00 p.m.
in the Olds First Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Hillock officiating.

Mr. Bob Collins of Stony Plain passed away at the age of 68 years.
Bob leaves to mourn his loving wife, Ella Baron; daughter Karen of
Stettler and her three children, Dustin, Alyssa-Dawn and Bobby;
his daughter-in-law, Heidi Collins of Edmonton and her three children,
Rebbeca, Daniel and Nathain; one brother Gordon (Gail) and one sister,
Joan Green both of Tillsonberg, Ontario as well as Sheila’s and Ella’s
extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife,
Sheila’s son David; grandson Stephen; sister Barbara and brother Jim.
A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, March 20 at 11:00 A.M.
from St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 5021-52 Avenue, Stony Plain,
with Pastor Victor Morris officiating.
Interment followed in Stettler Lake View Cemetery at 4:00 P.M.

Mrs. Phyllis Gardner of Edmonton passed away at the age of 57 years.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 35 years, Doug; one son,
Shawn (fiancee Sara) of Edmonton; one daughter, Shannon Gardner of Gunn;
two grandchildren, Glendon and Jared; mother, Lydia Graden of Stony Plain;
one brother, George Graden (Dixie) of Stony Plain; one sister,
Bernice Zarutyky of Edmonton as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her father, Walter; three brothers, James,
Walter and Earl and one son-in-law Kevin McNeil.
A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, March 19 at 1:00 pm. from

Reverend Jerry de Vries officiating. Interment followed in the Inga Cemetery.
