Mr. Gary Fuhr of Stony Plain passed away at the age of 54 years.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Pam; one son,
Chris (Suzanne); two daughters, Wendy (Pat) Rudneski and Becky
Fuhr and friend Shane; four grandchildren, Kristyn, Jonathan,
Cole and Mykayla; his mother, Dorothy Fuhr; four brothers,
Wayne, Daryl (Laura), Clayton (Brenda) and Stewart (Gwen);
one sister, Cheryl (Dave) Hinch as well as numerous nieces,
nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Edward.
A Funeral Service was held on Friday, August 8 at 1:00 P.M. from
St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Stony Plain, 5021-52 Avenue
with Reverend William Ney officiating.
Interment followed in the St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery,
Beach Corner.

Doreen Lavina Desai
October 23, 1922 – August 14, 2005
in Cape Town, South Africa
She will be sadly missed by
her husband of 60 years Richard Peter Desai,
two sons Larry (Sylvia) and Jimi Desai,
grandchildren Mark & Sharon,
great granddaughters Jordon & Mary-Ann Desai
as well as numerous nephews & nieces in Cape Town.
In Canada, she leaves to mourn:

Jackie Stewart of Vancouver, BC,

UYEDA, Yoshiko “Ruth”:
June 10, 1917 - Aug. 16, 2005
Mrs. Yoshiko “Ruth” Uyeda
of Stony Plain,
formerly of Lethbridge and Iron Springs,
passed away at the age of 88 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Frank
and seven brothers and sisters.
Yoshiko is survived by her three sons:
Sho (Janet), Ken (Kathryn) and Min (Pat);
her daughter May Uyeda;
six grandchildren: Paul, Robert, Kevin,
Kelsey Uyeda and Lindsay and Kimberley Swann.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005.
Internment followed in the Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge.
The family expresses their sincere gratitude to
Dr. Moss and the staff at George Hennig Place
for their love and care given to Yoshiko during her stay.

CHAPPLE, James “Doug” Douglas:
Feb. 15, 1931 - Aug. 16, 2005
It is with deep, heartfelt sorrow
we announce the passing of our Dad - Doug Chapple,
after a courageous battle with cancer.
Doug leaves to mourn his three children:
Lori (Marty), Jeff and Vicki;
six grandchildren: Justin, Tanner, Jessica,
Nicole, Jeremy & Jacob
and one beautiful great granddaughter Jinnaya;
his “little” brother and best friend Gerald (Gail);

2004-10-20 - Pastor Simon STEIERT, of Cherhill
On Wednesday, October 20, 2004, Pastor Simon Steiert of Cherhill, AB passed away peacefully at the age of 91 years.
Simon will always be loved and never forgotten by Ruby, his wife of 58 years; sister, Regina Brunell of Calgary, three brothers, Anthony of Alsask, SK, John and Alex (Flo), all of Medicine Hat. Predeceased by his parents; brothers and sisters. He will be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
Simon was a pastor of the Standard Church since his early 20’s. He was a man of great faith who practiced what he preached. Simon will be missed.
Funeral Service Tuesday, October 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Cherhill Community Hall, Cherhill. Pastor Ralph Magee officiating with interment at 3:00 p.m. in Good Hope Cemetery (near Fort Saskatchewan). In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to a Religious mission of choice.
KOLYBABA, William (Bill)
March 1930 - August 2003
Bill passed away peacefully at the Lacombe Hospital.
He joined the RCAF in 1949 and proudly served in various locations throughout Canada and overseas, until his retirement in 1980 with the rank of Captain. After his retirement, Bill joined Alberta Hail and Crop where he was employed for thirteen years. Bill was an avid golfer and volunteered at the The Nursery G & CC.
Married for 53 years, he is survived by his loving wife, Ilse, daughter Dawn (Barry), son Garner (Marla), grandchildren Addie, Dalen, Brandt and sister Mary (Bryan). Predeceased by siblings Mary, Bill, Manuel and John.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation for the excellent care provided by the Nursing staff and doctors of the LCHCC and to the friends who visited for friendly and supportive conversation.
A service was held on Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel, Lacombe.

GENDRE, Rose-Marie
Mrs. Rose-Marie Gendre of Lacombe passed away peacefully at the Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre on Monday, August 18 at the age of 70 years.
Rose-Marie was born on April 5, 1933 in Bonnyville, Alberta. She completed her high school in Bonnyville. She then went to Nicolet, Quebec and completed a two-year course teaching. She went teaching in St. Paul. Before teaching in St. Paul, she was taking a summer course in Red Deer and during this time she had met a friend which brought her to a friend’s family farm. It was at this time she met Leon Gendre at a baseball game in 1954. Leon and Rose-Marie were married in Bonnyville on August 2, 1955. They started a family the following year at which time she became a homemaker as a career. They raised their family on a farm south of Stettler. She loved starting conversations with strangers and making people feel at ease. She was a very outgoing, bubbly person who enjoyed life. Rose-Marie visited her seven children frequently. She loved visiting with all her friends and family. Leon and Rose-Marie did a lot of worldly travelling together. They had a wonderful family reunion in Hinton, AB on August 9 and 10, 2003, where she visited a lot with all her brothers and sisters.
Rose-Marie is survived by her loving husband Leon, her children Marcel (Patty) Gendre of Medicine Hat, Lucille (Dwayne) Raddis of Blackfalds, Lillianne Gendre of Stettler, Bernadette (Don) Jackson of Stettler, Louis Gendre of Erskine, Yvonne Gendre (Clint Sheffield) of Calgary, Henri (Lisa) Gendre of Jasper, 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Henriette Lirette of Edmonton, sister-in-law Cecile Lirette of Edmonton, Paul Lirette of Hinton, Lucille Neyron of Calgary, Louis Lirette of Lethbridge as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Rose-Marie was predeceased by her brother Leo Lirette, sister-in-law Patricia Lirette and brother-in-law Emile Neyron.
Prayers were held from St. Stephen’s Catholic Church on Thursday, August 21, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services were held from St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Lacombe on Friday, August 22, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Red Deer Unit, 4730A Ross Street, Red Deer, AB T4N 1X2.
