It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Vivian Briault of Red Deer, Alberta on Feb. 4, 2001 after a brief illness at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at age 54 years. Joyce was born on March 10th, 1946 at Lacombe, AB. Joyce is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 35 years, Lawrence Briault of Red Deer, AB; her two sons, Richard (Melanie) Briault of Red Deer, AB, and Ernest (Tracy) Briault of Red Deer, AB; her four grandchildren who meant the world to her, Cassandra, Tyler, Ashley & Jordan Briault; her sisters, Bev (Don) Patterson of Red Deer, AB, Karen (Jerome) Hunt of Blackfalds, AB; nieces,Jennifer Patterson, Meggie Hunt; nephews, Steven and Jared Hunt and a special Aunt, Helen Hegberg of Lacombe, AB. She was predeceased by her parents Paul and Norma Hegberg; her son Steven Briault. Joyce will be forever remembered for her love for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will never be forgotten. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to donors choice. At Joyce's request there will be no funeral service. Cremation with a private graveside service in the spring. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen.
CHIERNYK
Ronald "Ron" Chiernyk of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta passed away at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary on Sunday, January 28, 2001 at the age of 59 years. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 32 years, Rose; one son Jason Chiernyk (Ann Nelson) of Rocky Mountain House; one daughter, Laurie Chiernyk (Stewart Flundra) of Red Deer; and four precious grandchildren, Kyle, Jessica, Brandon and Craig. He will also be lovingly remembered by his mother, Ann Chiernyk of Rochester; three brothers, Emile Chiernyk of Rochester, Dan (Susan) Chiernyk of Rochester and Mike Chiernyk (Linda Rempel) of Westlock; his in-laws, John (Eileen) Camps of Rocky Mountain House, Deryl (Kate) Camps of Caroline, Roy (Melanie) Camps of Chetwynd, B.C., and Lynn (Hawkeye) Cadrain of Rocky Mountain House; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Ron was predeceased by his father, Frank on July 19, 1985 and one grandson Timmy on December 15, 2000. Funeral Services will be held at the Church of the Nazarene, Rocky Mountain House on Saturday, February 3, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Dale Hansen officiating. Interment will follow in the Leslieville Cemetery, Leslieville. Mr. James Ardell Cole of Red Deer, died peacefully at home on Saturday, February 10, 2001 at the age of 67 years. Left to mourn are Eileen, Kevin and Allison (Aaron); his granddaughter, Maddison; and many close friends. COLLINS
Mr. Greg Robert Collins, beloved husband of Jacquie Collins of Red Deer, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 23, 2001 at the age of 46 years. Greg also leaves to cherish his mother Leila Collins of Medicine Hat; brother Tom (Cora) Collins of Calgary and their son Jesse; sisters Penny (Neil) Johnson of Brooks and their sons Rob, Jeff and David; and Kim (Craig) Couillard of Medicine Hat and their children Danielle, Carly, Lindy and Judd. He was predeceased by his father Eugene (Shorty) Collins in 1997. Greg was born in Lethbridge, March 3, 1954 and was raised in Burdett. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy and served from 1971-1974. He married Jacquie Stafford in 1990 and they lived in Red Deer where Greg was employed with IPSCO. Greg always made a point of keeping in touch with uncles, aunts, and other family members, and will be remembered as a kind and loving man. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at Chinook Village Chapel, 2801-13th Ave. SE, Medicine Hat. COSSINS
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Lancelot "Lance" Cossins on February 4, 2001 at the age of 83 years at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. He was born in Red Deer on January 20, 1918 and was raised in Willowdale, with a few years spent in British Columbia. Lance decided to make farming his way of life so in 1946 he bought land in the Horn Hill District. On October 12, 1949 he was united in marriage to Johanna Bolze of the Valley Centre District. They continued farming until semi-retirement in 1992 when they moved to Red Deer. Through-out his life he was active in his community. Lance had a generous spirit that extended beyond his family. He enjoyed curling for many years, was an avid reader and never missed Hockey Night in Canada. Lance will be sadly missed by all who have loved him and he will forever remain in our hearts. Lance is survived by his loving family, his wife of 51 years, Johanna; his daughters, Muriel (Nick), Joan (Jim), Diane (Woody); his son, Bill (Tracy); and his grandchildren, Jennifer and Alison Smith; mother-in-law, Grace Bolze. Lance was predeceased by his sister Connie and his brother Frank; father-in-law Harry Bolze. Paula Marie Cote of Sylvan Lake passed away suddenly on January 31, 2001 at the age of 40 years. She was born at Ottawa, Ontario on September 26, 1960.
