Isabelle Nyamvuyu Pargeter, beloved daughter of Heidi DeGraff and Steve Pargeter of Lethbridge, passed away at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at the age of four months. Besides her loving parents, Isabelle is survived by her sister, Angel; her grandparents, Heike DeGraff of Pincher Creek, David DeGraff of Lethbridge, Jane Pargeter of Lethbridge, Tony Pargeter of Calgary and great grandparents Margrit DeGraff of Gull Lake, Isabelle DeGraff of Sylvan Lake and Tumishi and Lazalo Chilongo of Solwezi, Zambia. Isabelle is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Wendy, David and Sunny Pargeter, Danielle, Heath, Dietrich and Jay DeGraff, as well as family in Zambia and Canada. PIERCE
Mrs. Eunice Pierce of Innisfail passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2001 at the Innisfail Rosefield Center, at the age of 87 years. Eunice was born in Russell, Manitoba, March 1, 1913. She grew up as a quiet and studious child. She moved to Ottawa to work as a Bookkeeper. Later Eunice worked for the Government during the war. She married the love of her life, Tom Pierce in 1946 with a pre-made family, three teenagers and a six year old. Eunice had a glorious eight years, till her husband died of Cancer. She continued to raise the youngest daughter on her own, as her own, until she left home while working as a Bookkeeper at the Wales Hotel, Calgary. She went on working in Calgary and bought a little house and shared it with her sister, Edythe, until going to a Nursing Home. Eunice was predeceased by her husband Tom Pierce and her oldest son, Thomas Watt Pierce. She is survived by one son, Trevor Pierce and two daughters, Ceinwen Jackman and Lou-Ann Sweet and a number of nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sonia (Richards) Reed passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 1, 2001 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. Sonia was born in Wales on June 13, 1926 and immigrated to Canada with the family as a small child. In 1946 she was married to George Reed of Morniningside. The couple had four children; Brenda (Henry) Lodewyk of Red Deer, Linda Davies of Edmonton, Wes Reed of Red Deer and Pat (Sonia) Reed of Olds, special daughter-in-law Verdell Reed of Red Deer and family members; Mavis Fraser, Alex Morrice (and the late Evelyn Morrice) and Janis Shaw and families. Her very special nine grandchildren Louaine, Shane, Cara, Jaimie, Janine, Kyle, Kayley, Ashley, Jason and one great grandchild Arianne, and special friend Bert Longprie. Sonia was predeceased by her husband George in 1973, parents and brothers, Ned, Bill and sisters Violet and Pearl. Ernest Arthur Rodway, beloved husband of Theresa passed away at the Dr. Richard Parsons Auxiliary Hospital, Wednesday, February 7, 2001 at the age of 85 years. He was born May 29, 1915 in Endiang, Alberta. In 1956 he married Theresa Leona Robitaille and has resided in Red Deer since. He is survived by his wife Theresa, one son Arthur and his wife Roberta, one daughter Marie and two grandchildren James and John Rodway. Oscar Henry Sabasch passed away peacefully February 13, 2001 at the Rockyview Hospital at the age of 83 years. Oscar is survived by his beloved wife, Margery; daughter Roxanna (Michael); son Dennis (Donna); grandchildren, Nicole (Shane); Todd (Chantelle); Craig and Thomas. Oscar was born in the district of Shamrock, Saskatchewan on May 7, 1917. Oscar followed his older sister, Edith to the Olds area where he met and married Margery Gardin. During WWII he served with the Army in Great Britain and Europe. Upon returning in 1945, he became a grain buyer with Alberta Pacific Grain Co. operating elevators at Olds, Torrington and Alix. In the late 50's he became the Imperial Oil Agent in Alix and by the mid 60's became an active hotelman co-owning the Lethbridge Hotel. In 1968 he moved to Calgary to become the shipping foreman for Gulf Oil in their T.B.A. Warehouse until his retirement in 1986. Funeral services to be held on Tuesday, February 20. 2001 with public visitation from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. and funeral service to commence at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Funeral Chapel, Olds with Pastor John Lentz officiating.
