On March 14, 2001 Brian Wayne Majeski passed away at the age of 37 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Brian will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his fiance and companion Judy and her children Jody and Jennifer; parents Ted and Mabel; sisters, Bev (Tom), Brenda (Stuart), Marilyn (Gerry) and Carol; as well as numerous family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at Hainstock Funeral Home (9810-34 Avenue), Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute (11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, AB., T6G 1Z2).
MARCEAU
Mr. Randy Marceau of Red Deer, formerly of Edmonton, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Thursday, March 29, 2001 at the age of 47 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Randy will be lovingly remembered by his wife Kathy; children Shannon, Louis & Ryan of Red Deer; his father Duffy and stepmother Joyce of Edmonton; brothers Tim (Laurie) of Sherwood Park and Emil of Edmonton, Janice (Dave) of Edmonton, Brian (Colleen) of Lloydminster, Bobby of Edmonton and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Randy was predeceased by his mother Clara. Randy was a loving husband, dedicated father, and a successful businessman (Spectrum Power and Equipment). He was well known for his interests in restoration of old Volkswagons and his mechanical knowledge. Funeral Services for the late Mr. Randy Marceau will be held at the Deer Park Alliance Church, 2960-39 Street, Red Deer on Monday, April 2, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. Private family burial took place in Alto Reste Cemetery. McCARTY
Mr. 'Tommy' McCarty a life long resident of the Big Valley and Stettler areas, passed away at the Stettler Health Center on Thursday, March 15, 2001 at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his three brothers, 'Father' Edward McCarty of Edmonton, AB, Jimmy (Vi) McCarty of Big Valley and Jack (Peggy) McCarty of Red Deer, AB. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of good friends. MOGER
On April 5, 2001 Mr. Arnold Moger of Red Deer passed away at the age of 81. Arnold was born June 19, 1919 in Whitla, Alberta. He married Ruth Arndt on November 11, 1944. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Ruth of Red Deer; four daughters and two sons, Sheila (Roy) Liebig of Red Deer, Lyle (Barb) Moger of Blackfalds, Brenda (Karl) Kranenborg of Penhold, Patricia (Allen) Woodford of Red Deer, Debi Waldo of Red Deer and Les Moger of Red Deer. He is also survived by ten special grandchildren, Todd Liebig of Slave Lake, Lana Liebig of Olds, Tracey (Murray) Phillips of Red Deer, Chris Moger of Red Deer, Trevor (Sue) Woodford of Morin, Travis (Joy) Woodford of Red Deer, Mark Kranenborg and friend Dara of Calgary, Scott and Shaun Kranenborg of Penhold and Jason Gould of Red Deer. Arnold is also survived by three great grandchildren, Olivia Liebig, Megan Phillips and Taylor Woodford. He also leaves to mourn one sister, Josie (Frank) Karhoffer of Red Deer (Tina & Wendy) and several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter Maureen Jill, his parents Gustav and Jensine as well as two brothers Melvin and Harold. Arnold will be sadly missed as he touched the lives of many. He was the strength, humor and counselor of our family. Besides her loving husband Earl, she is survived by four sons, three daughters, eighteen grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. Jeannine's love of life lives on in her paintings, ceramics, and other artwork. NOVAK
Mr. Lloyd Novak of Red Deer, passed away at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary, on Saturday, March 24, 2001 at the age of 75 years. Lloyd was born on October 7, 1925 at Dodsland, Saskatchewan. Lloyd and his family spent the early years dividing their time between both Dodsland and on the family homestead at Evergreen, Alberta. In 1944 Lloyd joined the Canadian Army and took basic training in Eastern Canada. In 1950, Lloyd married Karen Skorstengaard and the couple moved to Innisfail where they started married life. They soon moved to Red Deer where Lloyd worked for Rio Vista Motors and later, Festival Ford. During this time, Mona, Larry and Lynda were added to the Novak family. The family enjoyed spending many happy hours at their country cabin and at the Skorstengaard family farm. Lloyd retired in the early eighties and pursued his various interests. He especially enjoyed bird watching and was often found at local sanctuaries and bird ponds in the area. Lloyd was deeply saddened by the loss of his dear daughter, Lynda Marie in 1992 and by his wife, Karen in 1995. Lloyd was fortunate in his later life to find happiness again with his loving companion, Josie Shippelt. He will be sadly missed. He is survived by his daughter, Mona (Tom) Robertson of Calgary; his son, Larry (Debbie) Novak of Scotsdale, Arizona; his five grandchildren, Heather, Erin, Robert, Jayda and Larry; his loving companion, Josie Shippelt of Rocky Mountain House; his sister Martha Slusarski; brother-in-law, Carl Skorstengaard; and numerous nieces and nephews. As well as his wife Karen and daughter Lynda, Lloyd was predeceased by his two brothers, Jerry Novak and Jeffery Novak. A celebration of Lloyd Novak's life will be held at the Eventide Funeral Chapel, Red Deer, on Wednesday, March 28, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Richard Duffin officiating.
