Annie (Micherda) Hughes (nee: Vysohlid) of Red Deer passed away peacefully at home July 9, 2001. Annie was born in Frank, AB. on March 27, 1922. She leaves to mourn, her loving family: daughter Rosanne (Robert) Carter; grandchildren Christine, Bill and Andrea; two great granddaughters, Samantha and Zoey; brother Milan (Dorothy) Vysohlid; sister Geraldine (Lou) Harpur; nieces and nephews Robert and Thom Vysohlid, Lisa and Dean Harpur, Mendel and Joel Vysohlid and their families. Her extended family includes Dale (Butch) Latam and sons Michael and Brady; Andrew and Debbie Carter; Keith (Pat), Gary (Iza) and Don (Kerstin) Hughes and their families; and Brent, Travis, and Julie Phillips. Annie was predeceased by son Walter, husbands Emil and Frank, brother Walter and his wife Margaret Vysohlid. Annie grew up in the Crowsnest Pass where she married Emil Micherda and together they raised son Walter and daughter Rosanne. In 1963 Annie moved to Red Deer. Tragedy struck in 1968 with the passing of her son Walter and husband Emil. A long career with Alberta Government Telephones began during World War II and culminated in 1983 when she retired as a service observer. She married long time Red Deer resident Frank Hughes in 1973, and together they enjoyed the ensuing years until Frank's passing in 1992. With sadness we announce the loss of our "G.G." Annie embraced us with a unique love of life from which we have all benefited. A gifted storyteller, she fondly shared her life experiences with family and friends. Gardening, cooking, music, poetry and traveling with family filled her latter years. At Annie's request there will be no Service. Cremation will be followed by internment with her son Walter in Blairmore, Alberta. A private family memorial will be held. No flowers please. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice. HUIZINGA
Grete Auguste Frieda Huizinga (Nee Naumann) passed away suddenly on July 20th, 2001 in North Bay, Ontario after a long courageous battle with Alzheimers disease in her 83rd year. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Pieter; a daughter Sylvia Auguste Percival of Calgary, Alberta; a son Frank and daughter-in-law Bonnie of Huntsville, Ontario. A sister Lucie and her husband August Lampert from Genshagen, Berlin Germany. A sister-in-law Gre Hilde Huizinga from Zwolle, Holland; a sister-in-law Alida and her husband Hank Visser from Brummen, Holland. Also mourned by granddaughters Lindsay, Amanda-Marie, Melissa and Aimee; and greatgrandchildren Shianne-Marie and Garrett-Morgan. She was predeceased by a son Lothar Harm in July 1967 and a twin daughter Alice Brigitte in July 1968. Grete was a great friend and neighbor to residents of Red Deer, AB for many years and will be sadly missed by everyone. A private service was held. Condolences may be forwarded to 2871 Brunel Rd. Myrtle Edna Ingram (nee Shaffer), born April 27, 1910 in Seward County, Nebraska went to be with her Lord and Saviour on July 24, 2001, surrounded by her loving friends and family in Lacombe, Alberta. Myrtle came to Canada with her family in 1911, married Irving D. Ingram in 1928 and farmed and lived in the areas of Glendon, Red Deer and Lacombe until her passing. She was predeceased by her husband, Irving in 1984, eldest son Charles in 1943, by her parents, eleven of her twelve brothers and sisters and by her granddaughter Debbie. Myrtle is survived by four children, Neil and Melba Ingram of Entwistle, AB, Edna Stanyer of Tahsis, B.C., Harold and Gerda Ingram of Sherwood Park, Keith and Joan Ingram of Evansburg and by her sister Ivy Bird of Bonnyville. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a great number of dear friends. Myrtle was a woman of great determination, strength and especially of faith in her beloved Creator. She will be missed and long remembered. We will honor Myrtle's remarkable life with a visitation and prayer service on Friday, July 27, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. at Wilson's Funeral Chapel, 6120 Highway 2A, Lacombe, AB. Mrs. Mary Margaret Jacobsen, beloved wife of the late Walter Jacobsen, of Red Deer passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, on Thursday, July 5, 2001 at the age of 91 years. In her younger days Mary loved spin bowling. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed puzzles and find-a-words, as well as traveling. Mary is the cherished mother of Harold Jacobsen of Red Deer; her sister Velma (Chester) Baldwin of Cochrane, Alberta; her many nieces and nephews; and will be truly missed by her many special friends. As well as her husband Walter; Mary was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Richard, William, John, Charlie, Nellie, Ethel and Frieda. At Mary's request no service will be held. Pamela Margaret Johnson, devoted mother, cherished daughter, dear sister, loving fiancee and loyal friend, passed away tragically on July 11, 2001 at the age of 51 years. Pam is survived by her loving children, Nathan and Andrea of Red Deer; her mother, Margaret Johnson of Victoria, B.C.; her brother, Grant Johnson and his wife Susan of Vancouver, B.C.; and her fiance, Lloyd Spurrell of Prince George, B.C. Pam was a well known and respected psychologist in the community. She was most recently employed by Heritage Family Services, and prior to that worked as a counselor at Red Deer College for seven years. Pam also served as a volunteer board member for the Canadian Mental Health Association. A celebration of Pam's life will be held at the Eventide Funeral Chapel, Red Deer, on Saturday, July 14, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. Donations to a fund in Pam's name may be forwarded to Red Deer College. Ronald William Kingsep of Red Deer passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, on Wednesday, July 11, 2001 at the age of 63 years after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his brother Bob (Mavis) of Sylvan Lake; sister Gail Smith of Innisfail; his caregiver and niece Angela Smith of Benalto and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Ken and Ivy Kingsep, his sister Carol and brother Jim. Graveside Services will be held at a later date. KLEPPER
Mrs. Catherine Irene Mrs. Catherine Irene Klepper quietly passed away with family by her side at the Stettler Auxiliary Hospital, Stettler, AB on Tuesday, July 3rd, 2001 at the age of 88 years. Mom was born south of Botha in the pioneer sod shack which was on our grandparents homestead in 1912. She lived there until 1916, when the family moved back east for a short time then back to the Bellgrove district, where she grew up. After schooling at the Nazarene College and working at the P.T.S. in Red Deer, she moved to Calgary. She married Merle Klepper in 1936 and they lived in Calgary until 1948, when the "call of the farm" got the best of them and they moved to the Pine Lake/Grassy Lake District. Mom left this area, and moved to Red Deer a few years after Dad passed away in 1983. She never liked the city life and was always happiest in the country. In December 1993, after a serious illness, she became a resident of the Stettler Auxiliary Hospital, where she had many friends. Catherine was an outgoing, strong willed lady who loved people, and the adventure of life. Her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren were a special part of her life. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Catherine is predeceased by her parents William and Nellie Stonness; husband Merle Klepper; baby son Gale Klepper; granddaughters Jolene Klepper and Teresa Klepper/Warke; sisters Muriel Sich and Gladys Leonard and brother Harold Stonness. Catherine is survived by her loving children Garry (Jean) Klepper of Pine Lake, AB, Donna Lea (Max) Ginther of Stettler, AB, Richard (Cris) Klepper of Salmon Arm, B.C., Dan (Linda) Klepper of Calgary, AB and Wayne (Bernice) Klepper of Delburne, AB. Grandchildren Carter (Clare) Klepper, Dennis (Shelley) Ginther, Lora Lea (Lyle) Harrison, Douglas (Susan) Ginther, Brent (Anne) Klepper, Vance (Michele) Klepper, Melissa Klepper, Amber Klepper, Carla Klepper, Cody Klepper and Shayne Klepper; fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. As well as many other relatives and many wonderful friends. A Memorial service will be held at the Pine Lake (Hub) Community Center on Monday, July 9, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. David Denholm officiating. Following the service, family and friends will join at the Pine Lake (Hub) Community Center for a time of fellowship and light refreshments.
