Mrs. Joyce McBride of Innisfail, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2002 at the age of 70 years. She is survived by two daughters; Brenda Graham and husband Don and children Jeni and husband Patrick of Red Deer and Matt of Rocky Mountain House, AB., Barb Glazer and husband Jim and children Tresa, Megan and Coreen of Innisfail, AB.; one son, Sam McBride and wife Bobbie and children Skylar and Brodie of Madden, AB.; two brothers Fred Freeman and wife Madeline of Olds and Charlie Freeman and wife Donna of Stettler and two sisters, Betty Reynolds of Bow Island and Jean Davignon of Kelsey, Alberta. She was predeceased by her husband Sylvester in 1999, her parents, one granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth. Fraser Ian McCallum of Red Deer passed away at Michener Services, Friday, April 5, 2002 at the age of 68 years. McCHESNEY
Teddy Charles McChesney passed away at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2002 at the age of 14 months. Teddy was born on January 23, 2001 in Calgary. He lived with his father, mother and two big brothers in the hamlet of Millarville, near Calgary. Teddy was a very happy, content baby and he brought much joy into his home and to all he met. Teddy is survived by his parents Brad and Jody McChesney; his brother Teagan and Cole; his grandparents Garry and Helen McChesney and Linda Hagg; his aunts and uncles and eight cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather Garry Hagg in June of 2001. Mr. Robert Frank McGregor was born in Red Deer on January 18, 1917 and passed away on March 18, 2002 with Effie, his loving wife of 50 years, by his side. He is also survived by his one daughter Sandy (Peter) Smith of Beaumont; granddaughter Sarah (Tom) Reves of Edmonton; grandson Stephen of Beaumont; one son Duncan (Carol) McGregor of Aurora, Ontario; granddaughters Abby and Emma at home; one sister Irene (Charles) Witcher of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Anne (Wallace) Simpson of Edmonton. Robert was predeceased by his parents Duncan and Gladys; one brother Duncan and one sister Mary. Mr. Thomas (Edward) Morton of Innisfail passed away on Monday, April 15, 2002 at the age of 70 years. He was born and raised in the Innisfail area. Ed was an Automobile/Heavy Duty Mechanic and spent the bulk of his career working for Loveseth's in Red Deer, Flint Construction, Red Deer and finally spent 15 years teaching Heavy Duty Mechanic's at the Red Deer College before retiring. Ed was very active in the community in Innisfail and spent many years coaching hockey or sitting on the Executive of the local Minor Hockey Association. Ed devoted his life to his family, and to his love of gardening. He took great pleasure in spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary of Innisfail, two sons; Ken (Corina) of Sherwood Park and Tom (Sylvia) of Consort, three sisters; Jesse Wynn of Edmonton, Helen Curry of Innisfail and Chris Hotte of Innisfail and five grandchildren. A celebration of Ed's Life will be held at the Innisfail United Church, 4720-48 Street, Innisfail on Friday, April 19, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. with The Reverend Everett Hollis officiating. NAKONECZNY
Mr. Nicholas Peter "Nick" Nakoneczny, beloved husband of Merle, of Red Deer passed away peacefully at his home, on Thursday, April 11, 2002 at the age of 68 years. Nick was a sheet metal mechanic by trade and started his career at Barry Sheet Metal, in Edmonton. After coming to Red Deer, Nick was employed with F.M. Hayhoe Plumbing and Heating for twenty years and operated with Nik Nak Construction until he retired. He was always a very ethical, conscientious, hardworking man, who believed anything worth doing was worth doing right!!! Nick was a knowledgable handyman, skilled in many trades and was affectionately known as the "Tool Time Champion". Nick cherished his family most of all. As well as his loving wife, Merle, Nick is survived by his loving mother, Janet Nakoneczny; his son, Neil (June) Nakoneczny of Red Deer; his daughter, Lois (Dave) Badry of Red Deer; his four stepchildren, Shelley Rue of Calgary, Sharon (Terry) Krushel of Peace River, Harlan Hanson of Kingston, Ontario and Terry (Rob) Hydomako of Red Deer; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; his brothers and sisters; Louise Lasytchuk, Michael (Leigh) Nakoneczny, Al (Sophie) Nakoneczny, Joanne Esteves, and Kevin Nakoneczny, all of Edmonton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Nick was predeceased by his father, Joseph Nakoneczny in 1974. A celebration of Nick's life will be held at the Eventide Funeral Chapel, Red Deer, on Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. with Leanne V. Hall officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. NIELSEN (nee JENSEN)
Kirstine (Stinne) Nielsen, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away at the Rosefield Centre on Friday, March 29, 2002 at the age of 83 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and many friends; son Kjeld (Dorothy) Nielsen of Spruce View, daughter Inger (Bill) Paulsen of Hastings Lake, four grandchildren, Michelle (Olaf) Natusch of Eckville, Michael Paulsen of Edmonton, Benjamin and Laura Nielsen of Spruce View, and great grandchildren Eric and Nicole Natusch. She will also be missed very much by brother Per (Ingrid) Elmegaard and sister Karen Larsen, both of Hjorring Denmark, sister Tova Nielsen of Vrensted, Denmark and their families as well as many friends. Stinne was predeceased by her beloved husband and life companion Oluf, December 19, 2000 as well as a sister and four brothers in Denmark. Stinne was born on a farm in Vejby, Denmark into a large and close family. She came to Innisfail with her husband and children in 1953. They farmed in several communities and finally settled in the Spruce View area in 1960. Stinne loved farm life - the hard work and constant activities of a busy rural community. She especially enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. Stinne will be terribly missed, but we take great comfort in knowing she lived a full and active life with family and numerous friends, and is now at peace following a difficult but courageous battle with ALS. O'BRIEN
Mr. Daniel "Danny" O'Brien, beloved husband of Mrs. Ellen O'Brien of Red Deer passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Saturday, March 23, 2002 at the age of 81 years. Daniel was born September 26, 1920 at Dublin, Ireland. He spent thirty years in England in the construction of many unique projects and moved to Canada in 1980. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Besides his loving wife Ellen, Danny is survived by a son, Michael (Janet) O'Brien, a daughter, Janet (Jim) Kelly, five grandchildren, Michael (Jo-Ann) Kelly and their daughter Kendra, Fiona O'Brien, Brendan Kelly, Sean O'Brien and Michael O'Brien all of Red Deer, also numerous relatives and friends in Ireland. Predeceased by a baby daughter Breda O'Brien.
