My dear wife and cherished mother of my children left us to be with her lord and family on June 14, 2002 after a valiant struggle with heart surgery and a stroke. What a legacy she leaves to her nine children, nineteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren! She was born Irma Chizmazia on April 24, 1926 in Tet, Hungary and came to Canada with her parents Elizabeth and Dennis Chizmazia and two brothers Dennis and Louis in 1927. Mom met and married dad, Thomas Gyori in 1943 and together they farmed and raised their family in the Lockhart valley. Mom was a master gardener, an awesome cook and was so proud of her children! Her inner strength and indomitable spirit saw her through her life on the farm. Every life challenge was met with dignity and grace. Mom will be so missed by Tom, her brother Ed (Vi) Kemp and by her nine children; Paul (Deb) Gyori, Judith (Dean) Park, Bonnie Knight, Philip (Debbie) Gyori, Daniel Gyori, Alberta (Luciano) Bassetto, Tim (LeeAnne) Gyori, Ross (Aleatha) Gyori, and Lorne (Angela) Gyori and their children. Mom will be fondly missed by our large Gyori family and many friends and neighbors. HAYES, JOHN ROGER
1970-2002
It is with immeasurable sorrow that the family of John Roger Hayes announces his sudden and tragic passing on Sunday, June 9, 2002 just two days short of his 32nd Birthday. John was born in Olds, Alberta on June 11, 1970 and was the eldest son of Roger and Joyce Hayes. John loved life and lived every moment to the fullest. He spent his last moments enjoying one of his passions, exploring the great outdoors on his quad with a group of his close friends. John was well known as a hard working and knowledgeable employee and spent the last eight years with Akita Drilling Ltd. John worked diligently and studied hard in order to work his way up to the position of driller; a position he held until the time of his passing. He was very proud of his career and was less than two weeks away from fulfilling his life long dream of drilling overseas in Cuba. Working internationally would have allowed him to have his greatest wish, the opportunity to spend more time with his soul-mate; his precious and loving wife Kerrie. Family and friends were a very important part of John's life. He possessed admirable physical strength, but it was his inner strength and gentleness of heart that made him so special. He had a special bond with children that was amazing to witness. As a friend, John was the first to offer help when it was needed and someone that could be counted on to show up ready to help with whatever was needed with a box of tools and a big smile on his face. He was the truest of the true and has made a lasting impression on everyone that he met in his short time on earth. John is survived by his loving wife of six years, Kerrie Hayes of Blackfalds, his parents Roger and Joyce Hayes of Tees, sister, Lorena Richard, her husband Edgar and daughter Leah, all of Tees; brother, Norris Hayes and his wife Mel of Lacombe; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Alton and Leona Rix of Wetaskiwin, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Trent and Debbie Rix, his adoring niece Sydney Rix, precious nephew Kyle Rix all of Innisfail and countless uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends. Psalm 121 - "I lift my eyes to the hills where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of Heaven and earth." Funeral Services will be held at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 18 Selkirk Blvd., Red Deer, today, Friday, June 14, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Fred Albert officiating. A fellowship lunch will follow at the church. A family interment service will take place in Lacombe Cemetery following the luncheon. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, donations may be made in John's memory to a charity of the donor's choice. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at: wfch@telusplanet.net.
