Our mother, Annie Margaret McKee (nee Franklin) was born on a farm near Palmerston, Ontario on July 25, 1916. Mom married James McKee in 1941 and they had five children, Joyce (Forrest) Frakes of Denver, Colorado, Carol (Ed) Pek of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Barb (Frank) Dallaire of Red Deer, Allan (Wendy) McKee of Penticton, British Columbia and Wayne (Eileen) McKee of Red Deer. Mom will be greatly missed by her children, her fifteen grandchildren and her twelve great grandchildren as well as her remaining sisters Dorothy, Ruth and Elsie and her twin brother Allan and extended family and friends. We will remember Mom for her love of family and her generous kindness to us. She took great pleasure and pride in each one and delighted in each new arrival to the family. Mom was dedicated to God and her church and gave many years of volunteer service to Gaetz Memorial United Church where she became a member after the family moved to Red Deer from Elmira, Ontario in 1957. As a long time member of the Women's Institute of Alberta she had many happy memories of her activities with this group of women. She and our Dad loved to square dance and to travel. They took numerous trips to Ontario and to Arizona to visit family and friends. Some of the other great pleasures in Mom's life were being active outside and working in her flower gardens. Roses were her favorite. She was devoted to her pets, especially her horses in early years and her dogs in later years. A heartfelt "thank you" goes out to all the nurses and staff at Davenport Cottage and Dr. Ligate who looked after Mom so very well these past two years. They indeed helped to make her last months comfortable and special with their care giving.
