VERNON ARNOLD HENRY
1954 - 2002

It is with a heavy heart and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved and incredible father, grandfather, son, and bestest best friend, Vernon Arnold Henry of Alix who passed away suddenly on Monday, June 17, 2002 in to the awaiting arms of his soul mate, our mother. Vern deeply touched the lives of his family and his close friends. He was a man of many insightful words, deep thoughts and his family always came first. Vern loved the farm dearly and often took long walks in all his special places. He was a truly intelligent man who had a zest for life and appreciated all the beauty he saw. We could never begin to explain everything he brought into our lives in these few words, he was just that amazing. Our father meant so very much to everyone in his life and he will be eternally missed and loved by all of us. Our hearts and lives will have a huge void but we take solace in knowing that he is once again, hand in hand with his soul mate, Judy. Vern has sadly left to mourn his five children, Ken (Jodi) Henry, Eddy (Tina) Henry, Verna (John) Ferguson, Jason Henry (Marcy) and Jennifer Henry (Graeme). He also leaves behind his most treasured grandchildren, who brought him extreme joy; Jessica and Sydney, Austin and Morgan, and the twins, Ethan and Lucas. Vern is also survived by his loving parents, Clara and Arnold Henry of Red Deer, his sister, Marilyn (Duane) Carson of Red Deer, his brother, Larry (JoAnne) Henry of Alix, and his uncle, Clarence (Fay) Formanek of Calgary. Vern will also be deeply missed by his dear friends, Marion of Calgary, Larry and Rose Primus of Alix, Bob and Linda Prockiw of Alix, Dick and Rena Klaffke of Calgary and Dennis Hiron of Alix. He was predeceased by is amazing wife of 28 years, Judy Ann Henry only 14 short months earlier. A private Celebration of Vern's life will be held for his family and close friends. WHALEY

On June 15, 2002, Barbara Ann Whaley of Longview, Alberta passed away at the age of 55 years. Barbara will be sadly missed, but forever and always remembered by her loving husband George, her daughter Teresa (David) Lynn of Okotoks, Alberta, two grandchildren, Cody and Amanda, her parents Henry and Elina Sanderson of Red Deer, Alberta. Her sister Fay (Ed) Schatschneider of Markerville, Alberta and their two children Trever and Adele. A memorial service will be held at the Okotoks Alliance Church, in Okotoks, AB. at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2002. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice.

WILLIAMS, Irma

A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Irma Waldora (Houston) Williams passed away peacefully in Edmonton on June 2, 2002 at the age of 85 years. Irma was born March 15, 1917 in Swanburg, Minnesota, and with her parents settled in the Consort area in 1918. In 1933 the Houstons came to Bashaw where Irma met Herb Williams, whom she wed in 1936. She is survived by two sons Wilfred of Mirror and John (Heather) of Beaumont; two daughters Lona Dermott of Edmonton and Sandra Williams of Red Deer; a loving and devoted life long friend Johnny Satre and his family; twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Herb (August 13, 1989), her parents Ferf and Azell Houston; son-in-law George Dermott (1999) and a brother and sister-in-law Neal and Mary Houston. A celebration of Irma's life will be held from the Mirror Community Hall on Thursday, June 6, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Tedd Wigglesworth officiating. In lieu of floral tributes donations may be made to the Bashaw W.I. Cemetery Fund, the Mirror and District Museum, the Bashaw Museum Society of a charity of your choice. Bashaw Funeral Home in care of the funeral and cremation arrangements. 780-372-2353.

WILSON

Mrs. Leta Louise Wilson of Red Deer passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2002 at the age of 74 years. Leta was a long-standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 35 in Red Deer, Alberta. As well, she loved gardening and maintained her beautiful plants indoors and out. She is survived by her daughter Marlene Jarvis (Alan) of Sherwood Park, Alberta and one grandchild, Terry of Edmonton, Alberta. Leta was predeceased by her husband Gordon. A Celebration of Life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels on Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend James Roberts officiating. WRIGHT

Mrs. Ruth May Wright of Red Deer and formerly of Deep River, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Valley Park Manor in Red Deer on Friday, June 21, 2002 at the age of 72 years. Dear mother to James (Dorothy) Wright of Red Deer, Alberta, Gayle (Laird) Graham of Bristol, Quebec and Cheryl (Jim) Patterson of Kitchener, Ontario. Ruth is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Ruth's Life will be hosted at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 - 45th Street, Red Deer on Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend John Yoos officiating. BROWN, James William (Jim)

Beloved husband of Mrs. Marilyn Brown of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on December 1, 2002 at the age of 62 years. Besides his loving wife Marilyn, Jim is survived by one son David Brown of Red Deer, AB, one daughter Jacqueline (Rob) Stach of Okotoks, AB, one step daughter Kimberley (Peter) Skuce of Springbrook, AB, three grandsons Kevin and Michael Stach and Sheldon Skuce. Born in Scotland in 1940, Jim moved to Edmonton in 1964, working with various engineering companies, and moved to Red Deer to join Border Paving Limited in 1977. Jim worked there for 25 years until ill health forced his retirement in April 2002. Jim enjoyed home, yard work and traveling. Funeral Service will take place at Eventide Funeral Chapels on Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with Leanne V. Hall officiating, 4820-45th Street, Red Deer, 347-2222.

YOUNG

William Erik Ryan Young, beloved son of Joyce Ross and Dale Young, passed away peacefully in his father's arms at the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta on Friday, November 29, 2002 at the age of 13 days. Williams will be lovingly remembered by his parents Joyce and Dale and sister Elli of Lacombe, AB., as well as his siblings Andrew, Kevin and Meagan of Edmonton, AB. William is also survived by his grandparents Betty and Arnold Kubista of Bentley, AB., Lindsay and Celeste MacKenzie of Two Hills, AB. and Keith Young of Red Deer, AB., along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous other relatives and family friends. All friends and relatives are invited to celebrate William's life on Thursday, December 5, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at Wilson's Funeral Chapel, 6120 Highway 2A, Lacombe. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance, southern Alberta, 1441 Aviation Park N.E. Box 570, Calgary, Alberta, T2E 8M7. MILLS, William James

On November 28, 2002 Bil Mills of Warburg passed away at the age of 81 years. Bil is survived by his loving wife Jean; two sons, Collin, Bruce (Natalie); one daughter Bonnie Snider; six grandchildren, Dean, Trent, Bejay, Cal, Justin and Kimberly; two sisters, Peggy Burns, Elsie (Jim) Mallabone; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was predeceased by one son Hyson and son-in-law Dean Snider. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Warburg Community Hall with Pastor Phyllis Greenslade officiating.
