Beloved husband of Lillian "Bunny" (Casey) Linton of Sudbury, loving father of Karen (husband Murray Wickett) of Monetville, Lanny (husband David Wilson) of Red Deer, AB, Ronald (friend Helen) of Ottawa and Paul predeceased (wife Marylou of Sarnia), cherished grandfather of Shannon (husband Keith Loyer), Erin Wickett, Jason St. Pierre, Casey predeceased and Megen Linton, great grandchildren, Andrea, Sarah, Chad and Drake, Dear son of Alfred and Ester Linton, both predeceased, Dear brother of Clifford (wife June) of Hepworth, predeceased by Ernest, Gordon, Lawrence and Vera. Born in North Cobalt, he married Bunny in Oshawa, in 1943. He started at Linton Motors in Englehart, then Northland Tire in Kirkland Lake, then at Maslack Supply in Sudbury for 27 years, retiring in 1992. He served with the Canadian Army during World War II and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Nipissing Junction Branch. Memorial Service in R.J. ISBISTER
Mr. Darren Isbister passed away suddenly on November 1, 2002 near Rocky Mountain House. He was born at Leduc, Alberta on June 16, 1965 and was raised from the age of 4 months in Rocky Mountain House. Darren is survived by his loving wife of 6 years, Sandy; his parents Dorothy and Bernie, sisters Jody (Gordon) and Carol (Colin); niece Janine, nephew Jordan, great niece Reegan Ann; sister-in-law Robin (Terrance), nephews Colin and Ethan; mother-in-law Dianne; father-in-law Roger (Lorraine); chosen brother Pat (Angie) and nephew Tyler; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins as well as life-long friends and co-workers. Darren was predeceased by his grandparents. Darren lived life to the fullest, bringing fun and friendship to everyone he met. He loved the outdoors. He was a carpenter at heart and building things with his hands made him happy. He loved children and was a patient and loving teacher to all his nieces and nephews. His life was made complete on October 5, 1996 when he married his wife Sandy. They shared a life in Red Deer and loved to travel together. A Memorial Service celebrating Darren's life will be held at the Rocky Mountain House Community Centre on Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House. JOHNSTON, Howard
Howard Leigh Johnston (Howie) passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2002 at the age of 62 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Howie was born on April 13, 1940 at Myrnam, Alberta. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Paulette, son Colin of Calgary and daughter Heather of Vancouver, British Columbia. He was predeceased by his father Axel, in 1960 and his mother Catherine in 1970. As a youth, Howie lived in various communities in north Central Alberta, however the Watt family farm at Two Hills, Alberta always held a special place for him. In 1957 Howie started working for the C.N.R. After training as a telegrapher, he worked as a relief operator on all lines running out of Edmonton. After spending eight years on the Railway, he spent one year working as a chemical operator for Dow Chemical. He then joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police where he was stationed in Kelowna, British Columbia until being transferred to Vancouver Drug Squad. Then he worked the Heroin Importing Squad, Street Crew with the Vancouver City Police, i/c Delta City Police Drug Squad and the Undercover Crew until he was transferred to Innisfail in 1980. He received a disability pension in 1992 after a twenty-five year career with the RCMP and moved to Red Deer to spend his final years. Howie was an active member of the Innisfail and Red Deer Legions, the Innisfail Lions Club, Red Deer Shrine Club, the Masonic Temple and the Round Table at Robins' Donuts. Howie will be remembered for his love of jokes, good sense of humour and his devotion to his family and friends. JOHNSTON, Wilfred Lyle
On Friday, November 29, 2002 Mr. Wilfred Johnston of Warburg, Alberta passed away at the age of 71 years. Wilf is survived by his loving family, wife Betty; two daughters Susan (Tom) Saxinger and Debbie (Stan) Simpson; three grandchildren Justin, Bailey and Meghan; three brothers Stew (Gail), Daryl (Debbie) and Art; three sisters Merle (Glen) Fawcett, Lynette (Darryl) Boomer and Deanna (Darryl) Lunder as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Wilf was predeceased by brother Mel (1977), father Dave (1978) and mother Hazel (1992). A Celebration of Wilf's life will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Warburg Community Hall. KLATT
Roy Henry Klatt passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the Prince George Hospital at the age of 77 on November 11, 2002. Roy was born on July 11, 1925 in Innisfail. He was raised on the family farm in the Aberdeen District. He met Darline Lightbown and they were married in 1948. Roy spent many years working in oilfield construction throughout Alberta, and operated his own oilfield construction consulting business (RoyDar Consulting). Roy and Darline also owned and operated several flower shops in Alberta and B.C. Roy and Darline shared a passion for travel and did so extensively. Roy enjoyed woodworking (and eating) and was constantly making gifts of his handiwork for family and friends. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Darline. His children, son Terry and his wife Leslie, daughter Sharleen and her husband Mike Townsend, son Collin and his wife Marilyn, daughter Tamara Klatt, and daughter-in-law Linda Gimbel. Roy was predeceased by his son Brian in 1992. Roy is also survived by his sister Isabel McKay, brother Clary Klatt, sister Amy Dial, brother Jim Klatt, brother Stan Klatt and sister Iris Clark. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 16 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eckville Community Hall. Cremation burial will follow at a later date.
KOCHER
Mr. Kenneth Walter Kocher passed away in Red Deer on November 10, 2002 at the age of 86 years. Ken was born in Lacombe, April 23, 1916 and lived all his life in the Sargeant area. He attended school at Sargeant, then in Clive. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Eva Winslow and together they farmed and took great pride in their cattle and had a large flock of laying hens. Ken was involved in many community activities, one of the ones he enjoyed a lot was the game of curling, which he played for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Ken and his wife Eva so enjoyed the many vacations and winters in the favourite place, Hawaii. Ken was predeceased by his loving wife Eva in March, 2002; his mother, Mildred Kocher in 1961; his father, Willis Kocher in 1958; and sisters, Marion McLeod (Norman), Veda Reid (Ed); his brothers, Cecil Kocher (Florrie) and Wilfred. Ken is survived by brother, Lyle and his wife Sylvia Kocher and sister-in-law, Ida Kocher and many nieces and nephews as well as close friends, Bob and Norma Short and family. Ken will be missed by many friends whom he met on his many trips to Hawaii and all who knew him. KOLBENSON, Richard
Richard Lindsay Kolbenson passed away suddenly on November 8, 2002 in Toronto, Ontario at the age of 49 years. He is survived by his loving parents Carl and Elsie, his two sisters Cathy (Ben) Grande, Cheryl (Rick) Oosterhoff, his nephews Jordan, Marco, Colin, and his nieces Venessa and Chelsea, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. KRAAY
On Tuesday afternoon, November 12, 2002, the Lord in his wisdom and at his time took to himself our beloved husband, father and grandfather. Tjeerd (Ted) Kraay Ted, the youngest of twelve children, was born in Zaandam, the Netherlands on May 20, 1925. He and his wife Alice immigrated to Canada in 1950 where they first settled in Ontario raising their five children and mainly working as farmers. In 1982 they relocated to a farm in Lacombe and moved into town upon his retirement. Ted is survived by his loving wife Alice (nee: Woldhuis); his five children, their spouses and his fifteen grandchildren: Irene Kraay of Burnaby, B.C., Agnes and Harv Prins, Cindy, Steven, Keith and Brian of Lacombe, AB. Ed and Linda Kraay, Jesse, Shelly, Reuben, Matt and Amanda of Lacombe, AB., Janet and Phil Ryskamp, Michelle, Tim and Dan, of Calgary, AB, Wilma and Gord Spelt, Randy, Jason and Becky of Lacombe, AB.
