KIRBYSON, Gary

Mr. Gary Andrew Kirbyson of Delburne, Alberta, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Red Deer, on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at the age of 48 years. Gary leaves to mourn his loss, his mother, Christina, devoted sons, Chris, Shane (Stacey), best friend and brother, Mike (Kim), nieces, Jennifer, Melissa, Sarah and Kaily, nephew, Tyson, special and loving cousins, Allan (Deb) Wattie and Janice Schwartz, his aunties, Barbara Johnson and Svea Scwartz and chosen sister, Bonnie (Doug) Ogilvie, as well as many more cherished aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, and guardian angel, Teresa (James) Chase. With respect to Gary's wishes, a Graveside Ceremony will be held at the Delburne Cemetery, Delburne, Alberta, on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. with The Reverend Lance Penny officiating. A time of fellowship will follow at the Delburne Community Centre. If desired, Memorial Donations in Gary's Honor may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 4730 A Ross Street, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 1X2. LAMBONY Clara (Baumbach)
1914-2003

Clara Lamonby passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2003 at the Innisfail Health Care Centre at the age of 88 years. Clara was born at Irvine, Alberta to Robert and Caroline (Dell) Baumbach. She is survived by three brothers Gid Baumbach, Fred (Inez) Baumbach of Medicine Hat, Lawrence (Geraldine) Baumbach of Lethbridge, four sisters Emma Herman of Calgary, Margaret Cavan, Dora (Larry) Brink, Ann Zahn all of Medicine Hat, one son-in-law Jay (Doris) Neufeld of Bowden, five grandsons, Randal (Charlene) Neufeld, Wade (Robyn) Neufeld both of Olds, Calvin (Liz) Yzerman of Red Deer, Tim (Lori Holien) Yzerman of Ponoka, Monte (Angie) Yzerman of Calgary, two granddaughters, Dawn Neufeld of Nova Scotia and Barbara Neufeld of Olds, eleven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Clarence Lamonby in 1991, daughters Donna Florence Neufeld and Barbara

LAYCOCK, Douglas

Mr. Douglas Laycock of Innisfail passed away on Tuesday July 15, 2003 at the age of 79 years. Douglas was born in Burnaby, B.C. to his parents Ruth and Henry Laycock. Most of Doug's life was spent in Alberta ( Innisfail, Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer and Penhold) and his biggest passion was taking his family (wife Laweretta and sons; Garry and Lawrence) camping all over Alberta. An early volunteer in WW II, Doug joined The Princess Louise Fusiliers and saw action in Italy, Holland, Belgium and Germany. Cpl. Douglas Henry Laycock held eight service medals at retirement. A kind and generous man Doug was predeceased by his soul mate Laweretta December 18, 1996 but took joy and consolation in his surviving relatives, son, Lawrence ( Jo), grandchildren; Tamara and Travis, son, Garry (Glenda) brothers, Edward of Innisfail, Maurice of Calgary and Ron of Fredericton of New Brunswick. Funeral service for the late Doug Laycock will be held Saturday July 19, 2003 at 2:00 pm. from the Metcalf Funeral Chapel, 4200 49th Ave. Innisfail with Reverend Margaret Lange officiating. LIEBIG, Lana

It is with great sadness that Roy and Sheila Liebig announce the passing of their beloved daughter Lana Lynn Liebig on Saturday July 12, 2003 at the age of 33 years. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.

LIEBIG, Lana

Ms. Lana Lynn Liebig passed away at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary on July 12, 2003 at the age of 33 years. She is survived by her loving parents Roy and Sheila Liebig of Red Deer, brother and best friend Todd of Slave Lake, niece Olivia Liebig of Slave Lake, maternal grandmother Ruth Moger of Red Deer and paternal grandmother Cecilia Liebig of Wetaskiwin. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. Lana is predeceased by her grandfather Arnold Moger and grandfather John Liebig. Lana began her career with the Alberta Treasury Branch in Calgary over ten years ago. She also enjoyed working at various branches over the years including Brooks, Three Hills, Olds and Red Deer. She loved to travel, hangout with friends and was game to go anywhere at the drop of a hat. She was very sociable and if she wasn't visiting in person, she was on the phone. Baking was one of her favorite hobbies as well as reading, camping, gardening and doting on her niece and other children in her life who meant the world to her. Lana will be greatly missed by her family, a multitude of friends and all that knew her. MANLEY, Lucille

Mrs. Lucille Manley of Blackfalds, Alberta passed away suddenly after a brief illness at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at the age of 78 years. She will be greatly missed by her son, Jim, daughter-in-law Karen, and her two beloved grandchildren, Kevin and Sharon. She also leaves behind her stepmother, Agnes Palmer, and her two surviving sisters, Joyce Turnbull and Carol McKean, both of Bentley Alberta. Lucille was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Manley, her son Dennis, her brother Derald Palmer and sister Frances Stephenson. Lucille grew up in Bentley, Alberta and was a Navy WREN during WW2. After living in Halifax and Ottawa during the 1940's and 50's, she settled in Blackfalds, Alberta in 1962 and worked at the Red Deer Hospital as an admin assistant from 1963 until her retirement in 1989. Lucille particularly loved travelling, camping in her RV, and was and active member of both the Old Farts Ski Club at Canyon and the Red Deer Seniors Skating Club. However, her great passion, second only to family, was to the environment. She was an avid bird watcher and naturalist, belonging to the Red Deer River Naturalists and volunteering at the Kerrywood Nature Centre. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at the Red Deer Funeral Home & Crematorium. If desired, donations in Lucille's memory to the Red Deer River Naturalists Society would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements in care of the RED DEER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM. McDOUGALL, Texas (Tex)

It is with great sadness the family announces the death of Texas Patrick Edward McDougall, at the age of 76, Friday, July 11, 2003 in Saskatoon, SK. Before retirement, Tex worked across Western Canada and into the Northwest Territories, with construction companies such as Whissell and Curry Construction. He also spent many years with The City of Yellowknife, Town of Pine Point, NWT and Town of Lacombe, AB. Tex will be sadly missed by both his family and his many friends he made in his travels. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or The Schizophrenia Society of Alberta. The Celebration of Texas' Life will be held July 17, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Saskatoon Funeral Home at 338 Fourth Avenue North, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. MCLEAN, EDMUND

Ed McLean passed away peacefully in the presence of his daughters at the Red Deer Nursing Home on July 23, 2003 at the age of 89 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Dorothy of 55 years, 2 daughters, Jeanette (Jim) Higgins, Irene (Ray) Blackmore, 4 grandsons, Jesse Higgins, Robert, Travis and Scott Blackmore, sister Lenore Layton and 2 brothers Gordon and Clare McLean. Ed was predeceased by his parents, George and Bessie, 2 sisters and one infant brother. A Memorial Service will be held at the Delburne Drop-in Centre on Monday, July 28, 2003 at 2:00 pm, Pastor Richard Duffin officiating.
