Annie Evelyn Louise (nee Bigelow) Anderson

Evelyn died peacefully August 25, 2004 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital in her 94th year. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Weston in 1976 and by her parents, a brother and two sisters. She is survived by sons Keith (Phyllis) of Sylvan Lake, Ted (Suzanne) of Kelowna B.C. and Bruce (Carol) of Lethbridge, sisters-in-law Catherine Bigelow of Drumheller and Margaret Longmate of Grande Prairie, grandchildren Brian and Heather, Jennifer and Jane, and Jessica, great grandchildren Jessica and Nigel, Adam, Drew and Beth, and Abigail, together with several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was born in Vancouver and spent most of her early years in Delia, Alberta. A graduate (dietician) of the University of Manitoba, she worked with distinction at the Drumheller Hospital for several years before marrying Weston and beginning an active career of some sixty six years as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Evelyn and Weston moved to Red Deer in 1945 where they resided throughout the balance of their lives. By Evelyn's specific request, only a very private family gathering will take place following cremation, with no formal funeral or memorial service being held. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the David Thompson Regional Hospital Foundation or a charity of choice. Eventide Funeral Chapel of Red Deer is providing arrangements.

ARMSTRONG, W. Morris

Mr. W. Morris Armstrong of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, August 26, 2004 at the age of 81 years. Morris was born on December 11, 1922 at Red Deer, Alberta, where he lived his entire life. He served his Country in World War II positioned in England. After the war, Morris returned to Red Deer and worked for Chrysler Canada at their Red Deer Plant for more than twenty-five years. Morris was a lifetime member of the Red Deer Elks Club and the Royal Canadian Legion. Morris will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered in the hearts of his family and dear friends. Morris leaves to mourn his loss, his loving children, Balfour (Louise) Armstrong of Australia and Laurie (Rene) Grande of Red Deer and his grandchildren, Allison, Alannah, Byron and Angus. He will also be sadly missed by his sister, Helen Wells, his special friend, Linda Watt of Red Deer, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. Morris was predeceased by a brother, Donald Armstrong. A Celebration of Morris's Life will be held at Gaetz Memorial United Church, 4758 Ross Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Fran Hare officiating. A Private Family Interment will be held at the Red Deer Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Morris's honour may be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, C/O Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, T6G 1Z2.

CAMPHAUG, Barry

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barrington (Barry) Camphaug on August 28th, 2004. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 61.Barry lived life to the fullest and his love for his family was always evident in everything he did. He moved to Sylvan Lake with his family in 1985 and married Donna, his "love of his life". Barry, was a very special Husband, Dad and Grampa (Poppa) to his family. He will be dearly missed by his mother Lillian, his wife Donna, his children Troy (Elsa), Jay and Nicole Camphaug, Darcy (Carmen) Freemark, Jessica (Charles) Jorgensen and his grandchildren Chelsea, Deanna, Brandon, Connor, Jordan, Mason. Also, his siblings Fay (James), Tony, Rodney, Cy (Dawn), Rene (Kevin), Kurt, Syndi (Jordan), Donna's parents and family, Bob & Jean Kutz, Dale Kutz, Lynn(Garry) Angen, Carl (Cheryl) Kutz and many nieces and nephews. Service will be held at Memorial Presbyterian Church, 5020 - 48th Street, Sylvan Lake on Wednesday, September 1st, 2004 @ 2:00 pm. At Barry's request - in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Red Deer Search & Rescue - Unit 152, B102 - 5212 48th Street, Red Deer T4N 1C8.

CLANDENING, Patricia Joan (Pat)

Patricia Joan "Pat" Clandening, of Courtenay, BC passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 18, 2004, aged 77. She was predeceased by her first husband John Patrick Clandening; son Bill Clandening and her second husband Clarence Bradley. Pat is survived and will be lovingly missed by her daughter Colleen Clandening of West Vancouver; grandsons Blair Steeves and Scean Clandening; great grandchildren Jaeger, Taze, Zane and Carter; her niece Diane and her step-children Terry, Alden and Anne Marie. Pat will be remembered as vivacious, fun-loving, having a great sense of humour and keen sense of design and fashion. She was a really great friend to many. A service of Remembrance in Celebration of her life will take place on Wednesday, August 25th at 2:00 p.m. from COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay, followed by fellowship and refreshments in "The Garden Room and Outdoor Patio" of the funeral home.

CUENDET, Julie

After a long and courageous battle, Julie (Lily) Cuendet passed away in her home August 21, 2004 at the age of 89 years. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Marthe Cuendet, she leaves to mourn her cousin Michel Thevenaz (Mitch) (Jean) their sons David (Brenda), Shad, Logan and daughter Drew of Bentley, Maurice (Valerie) and daughters Lindsey and Kendra of Drumheller, close neighbours and many friends, especially in the music world. Funeral service at Knox Presbyterian Church Red Deer August 24, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Andrew Burnand officiating. Interment at Sylvan Lake Cemetery. Thank you nurses and staff Unit 22 Red Deer Hospital.

DAVIS

Marian Laura Davis passed away at Our Lady Of The Rosary Hospital Extendicare in Castor, Alberta on August 28, 2004 at the age of 87 years. Marian was born July 19, 1917 on the Mason family farm north of Delia to Reverend Edward and Frances Longmire. She was the oldest child followed by brother Frank and sister Lois. She went to different schools as her father, a Methodist minister moved to many rural Alberta charges. Marian attended Normal School in Edmonton and then went home to teach in her hometown of Irma during the war. In 1946 she followed her heart and entered the Lamont School of Nursing to become an R.N. Upon graduating she worked at the Lacombe Hospital and the Baker Sanatorium in Calgary before settling into a career in 1952 as a Nursing Supervisor at the Provincial Training School (now Michener Centre) in Red Deer. In 1971 she was appointed the Director of Nursing for the Eric Cormac Centre, a Hospital for mentally and physically handicapped children in Edmonton, a position she held until she retired in 1975. After retirement Marian returned to Red Deer where she actively engaged in her many hobbies. Above all, she loved sharing her time with family and friends. Marian is survived by her loving family - her daughter Carol and son-in-law Edward Ries of Castor; grandsons Francis Ries (Helen) of Aberdeen, Scotland and Andrew Ries of Vancouver, BC; sister Lois Churchill or Red Deer; niece Marilyn Churchill (John) of Richmond, BC; nephew David Churchill (Jocelyn) of Calgary; niece Donna Cameron (Ken) of Drayton Valley and seven great nieces and nephews. Marian was predeceased by brother Frank Longmire in 1928, Mother Frances Longmire in 1969, Father Edward Longmire in 1982 and brother-in-law Stan Churchill in 1986. Funeral services will be held at the Knox United Church in Castor, Alberta on Saturday, September 4, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Barbara Zimmerman officiating. The interment will be held at 4:30 P.M. in the City of Red Deer Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Marian's memory to Our Lady Of The Rosary Hospital Extendicare, Box 329 Castor, Alberta T0C 0X0 or to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta, #220, 2323-32 Ave. NE Calgary, Alberta T2E 6Z3. ELHORN, GORDON

Mr. Gordon McLeod Elhorn of Calgary, Alberta, formerly of Red Deer, passed away doing what he loved at the Clearwater River on Sunday, August 15, 2004 at the age of 56 years. Gordon was born on June 9, 1948 at Edmonton, Alberta. Gordon loved the outdoors. He especially loved fishing, quading, camping and riding his Harley. Gordon will be very deeply and sadly missed but lovingly remembered and cherished in the hearts of his family and good friends. Gordon leaves to mourn his loss, his loving sons, Rob Elhorn and Dave 'Youngson' Elhorn (Daniela Garrido), both of Calgary, Alberta. He will also be very sadly missed by his mother, Jessie Elhorn of Edmonton, Alberta, his sister, Susan (David) Barrett and their children, Amanda, Mark and Stuart and his brother, Fraser Elhorn (Linda Wong), all of Sherwood Park, Alberta. A Celebration of Gordon's Life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820 - 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.

GERVAIS, NOEL JOSEPH Noel Joseph Gervais of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 22, 2004 at the age of 76 years. Noel was born December 25, 1927 at Morrinville, Alberta. He and his family moved to West Saunders, Alberta where they ran a boarding house. He also worked in the coalmines of Alexo and Saunders even after losing two uncles in the Nordegg mine disaster. In 1955 Noel moved to Sylvan Lake, Where He and his family resided until 1965 before moving to Red Deer. Noel worked for Federal Pioneer Electric from 1956 to 1981 until health forced early retirement. He enjoyed working around the yard and house and the fishing trips out west with his friends when he could. He will be sadly missed by his four children, Anthony, Vivian, Nancy (Anthony) Forbert, And Roland (Tari) all of Red Deer, also four lovely granddaughters, Donna, Shannon, Megan and Lindsay and his special little friend "Skippy". He is also survived by his brother Roland Gervais of Port Moody, British Columbia and his aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Antonio Gervais in 1973, his mother Odilia Wiebe in 1986 and his oldest brother Wilford Gervais in 1988. The family would like to add a special thank you to the home care nurses who came in daily to see him. Friends and relatives are welcome to join the family at the home of the late Mr. Noel Gervais, 6235 - 61 Avenue, Red Deer on Saturday, August 28, 2004 between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. for a time of memory sharing and fellowship. In living memory of Mr. Noel Joseph Gervais, a tree will be planted in the Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium Memorial Tree Park.

HENDERSON, Toniel

In the early morning of August 21, 2004 Toniel Rae Henderson passed away at the age of 22 years. Toniel leaves to cherish her memory her parents Carol & Rick Martin and Larry & Judy Henderson; her sisters Amanda & her daughter Sawyer and Jamie & her daughter Rylee; her very special devoted friend Matthew; as well as her grandparents, aunts, uncles, numerous cousins and friends. A Funeral Service for Toniel will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ponoka United Church, 5020-52nd Avenue, Ponoka. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society.
