TRESCHER, Kelly Johanna
1967 – 2017
With the heaviest of hearts, we have lost the light of our lives, Kelly Johanna Trescher (Jurasevich). Kelly passed away peacefully at the Ponoka General Hospital on January 10, 2017.
Kelly was born in Innisfail, Alberta and lived her life full throttle and forward. Always on an adventure, she made everyone around her laugh. She had the biggest heart and the brightest smile. Kelly is survived by the love of her life, her loving husband Juan Trescher; daughters Stacy Glenn (Nic Asturino), Jennifer Trescher, Meagan Trescher and sons Scott Glenn, Samuel Jurasevich, Jesse Jurasevich, Shaun Trescher. Also to cherish Kelly’s memory are her grandchildren Sophia, Eva and Benjamin; brother Jack Sim and sister Carrie Esau (Bev). Kelly was predeceased by her father Jerry Sim, mother Eva Sim and brother Brian Sim. For those wishing to pay their respects, viewing will be held at the Ponoka Legion, 3911 – AB 2A, Ponoka, AB, on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a celebration of life to follow at 3 p.m. Memorial donations may be directed to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, 1502 – College Plaza, 8215 – 112 Street, Edmonton, AB T6G 2C8.

We are saddened to announce the passing of our Dad, William (Bill) Baird of Sylvan Lake,⇑Read Further …
Alberta on Monday January 9, 2017 at Red Deer Hospital at the age of 94 years. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Truus in November 2007 and his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Angela Hodgins and his son Bob Baird (Liz), his grandchildren Cameron (Val and great granddaughters Emily and Olivia), Danielle (great grandson Adrien) and Kimberly (great grandson Jamie). Dad grew up in Mount Zion, Alberta. He joined the RCAF in 1942 and served overseas in England, France, Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany. In Eindhoven, he met his wife, Truus and married her on April 17, 1945. After the war, Dad commenced a career in the marketing of oil and gas. He travelled all over Western Canada with a primary focus in Southern Alberta. Dad was involved in many organizations including Elks of Canada, Shriners, Chinook Club of Lethbridge, The Masonic Lodge and The Royal Canadian Legion. Dad and Truus retired to Sylvan Lake in 1993. They spent many winters in Mesa, Arizona. Dad was an avid golfer winning the Alberta Amateur Open for his age division. In 2014 Dad was awarded the “Knight of the French National Order of the Legion of Honour Medal” in recognition of his war time efforts in the liberation of France. A celebration of Bill Baird’s Life will be held at the Chapel of the Sylvan Lake Funeral Home, 5019 47a Avenue, Sylvan Lake, Alberta on Monday April 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Inurnment will follow at the Sylvan Lake Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Sylvan Lake Legion Branch 212, 4916 50th Avenue, Sylvan Lake, Alberta. For those wishing to make memorial donations in Bill’s name, Dad requested that donations be made to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Cremation has been entrusted to Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.

WALLIN, George “Rick”
1954 – 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. George Richard “Rick” Wallin on Monday, May 22, 2017, in the County of Red Deer, at the age of 62 years. Rick was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1954 to parents George and Jessie Wallin. He attended school in Toronto; where he made many lifelong friends, and excelled at football, rugby and singing. In 1978, Rick moved to Alberta; where he spent the majority of his adult life working in the oilfield. He was a longtime employee of Precision Well Services and served as Rig Manager for the last twenty years. Rick will always be remembered for his laugh, smile, love of sports, and his deep love for his family and friends. Rick will be lovingly remembered by his; wife, Kyoko; sons, Chris (Angela), Todd (Michelle), Dustin (Katie), James, Kane and Rhys; and grandchildren, Nikolas, Eli, Gavin and Madelynn. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters, Donna (Ron), Valerie and Arlene (Dave); nieces and nephews, Todd, Kristen, Brett, Jessie, Irene and David; his father-in-law, Rod (Fusako); brother-in-law, Tad (Deb); nephews, Morgan and Grayson; sister-in-law Mariko and the countless friends and co-workers whose lives he touched. Rick was predeceased by a daughter, Brandi. GIBBONS, Dorothy Madeline
Mrs. Dorothy Madeline Gibbons passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the age of 82 years. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Archie; son, Ed, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Henry and Clara; sister, Louise; and brother, Bud. As per Dorothy's wishes, no funeral service will be held. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Odendaal, and to the staff of both Unit 31 of the Red Deer Hospital as well as the Red Deer Hospice for the excellent care Dorothy received. FERGUSON, Bonita
1972 - 2015
It is with extreme sorrow, that we announce Mrs. Bonita 'Bonnie, Bobo, B' Ferguson of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away after a courageous battle with her health at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the age of 43 years. Bonnie was born and raised in Barrhead, Alberta. She and Neil eventually settled in Red Deer in 1997 and embraced their new home. At heart, a shy, sensitive soul, Bonnie evolved into a fearless, straight forward woman, who was passionate in her beliefs. She loved supporting local businesses, and really believed that one person could effect change. Always curious, Bonnie loved to travel the world, try new foods, activities and hobbies. She played a beautiful guitar and wrote incredible songs. Bonnie is survived by her best friend of twenty-three years, partner in crime, soul mate and devoted husband, Neil Barton. She will also be sadly missed by her mother, Joyce Ferguson, sisters, Cindy Ferguson and Laurie Ferguson, brother, Robert (Desiree) Ferguson, nieces, Payton, Riley, Piper and Harper Ferguson, numerous other family members and a wide circle of dear friends. Bonnie was predeceased by her father, Hugh Ferguson, grandparents, Robert and Edna Ferguson, Arnold and Edna Harms, and an uncle, William Ferguson. Honoring Bonnie's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. If desired, Memorial Donations in Bonnie's honor may be made directly to the Salvation Army, Safe Harbour Society, or to the Red Deer Food Bank. Better yet, please donate some of your time like Bonnie did; she always worried about others. But to really remember our girl, go to a local pub, order a good, locally made craft beer and share your funny, crazy Bonnie stories. Take the trip you've always wanted, go get that dream, explore. Love fearlessly. Never give up. Laugh. We love you Bobo and we'll miss you every day. Sleep well, sweet dreams.

John Holtz of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at Extendicare Michener Hill on Friday, June 26, 2015 just shy of his 91st birthday. John is survived by his loving and devoted wife Betty of nearly 63 years; sons Norm (Diane), Ray (Elaine); daughter Leslie (Brent); five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. John was predeceased by his three brothers, two sisters, one daughter-in-law, and one grandson. John was an extremely devoted husband, a kind and dedicated father and a man who deeply enjoyed the company of family and friends. He will be sorely missed. A celebration of John's life will be held at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 40 - Holmes Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in Alto Reste Cemetery.

BURTON, James Murlen
Oct. 12, 1958 - June 26, 2015
James Murlen Burton passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Friday, June 26th, 2015. James never gave up the fight but when the time came and he had to face the end, he did so bravely, calmly and almost defiantly. James was predeceased by his parents; Norita and David Howard, and early in his life his father, James Ralph Burton. He is survived by his beautiful daughter, Serena Rose Burton, brother, Robert Burton and his family (wife, Leslee, sons; Nicholas, Jesse, Landon, and Cole) of Red Deer, AB, sister, Rita and her family (husband, Tim and children; Brian, Amanda and Tim) of Ephrata, Washington, and brother, David Howard and his family (wife, Tracie and children; Morgan and Brett) of Decature, Texas. James was born in Toledo, Oregon, on October 12th, 1958. The family moved to Prince George, BC, in 1964. Later, they moved to and lived several years in the Okanagan region before moving to the Stettler and Sylvan Lake area in 1974. James eventually settled in Red Deer, AB, where he worked for Petrotreat Inc. and subsequently PureChem Services. James made many lifelong friends through the years. These friends, along with his family were a priority for James. They were a source of great joy and pride as he spent many meaningful hours with them. James has a passion for photography, collecting antiques, archery, and spending time with his daughter Serena, the true love of his life. James was a strong, kind, loyal, beautiful and remarkable man.
This world has lost an irreplaceable human. You shall never be forgotten and remain always in our hearts, minds and stories forever.
James, we miss you already…

WILKINS, Margaret (nee Petty)
With sadness our family announces the passing of Margaret Wilkins (nee Petty) on Wednesday September 16, 2015 at 85 years of age. She was our Mum, Gran, Sister, Auntie and Friend. Margaret is lovingly remembered by her three children: Jeffrey (Cathy), Susan (Dale) and Peggy (Mark) and her daughter-in-law Annelle. She was predeceased by her eldest son Hugh and her husband C.R. (Dick). Her five grandchildren: Heidi (Craig), Rebecca (Mike), Kyle, Melina and Alecia will miss and always remember their special Gran. She was blessed with her first great-grandson Charley in May. Margaret is survived by her sister Barbara (Jim) Housen and her nieces and nephew. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Aspen Care Cottage in Red Deer. It was there that Mum was so patiently and lovingly cared for in her final years. Mum's wishes were to be cremated and the disposition of her cremated remains will be carried out by her family. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering for family and close friends on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Service, 5311 - 91 Street NW Edmonton. EBELING, JOHN KENNETH

Mr. John Kenneth Ebeling passed away on September 16, 2015 at the age of 55 years. As was his wish, he passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Nancy, son Ryan Woods, and daughter Jessica (Skye) Bowman, and his four grandchildren: Rosalyn, Harley, Kayn and Hugo. Also, by his four sisters: Kathie (Jim) Morrison, Judy (Ron) Fraser, Linda (Keith) Dechant and Barb (Willard) Wilton and his grandmother Ruby Baker. He was predeceased by his parents: John and Millicent Ebeling, and his eldest son M. Damon Woods. John attended Olds College where he became an agricultural mechanic which followed with a 30 year career in oilfield sales. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a great friend that was always ready with a joke and a smile, even throughout his suffering. He enjoyed many years of curling and loved his farm. The sparkle in his eye came through in the times he spent with his grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at the Woody Nook Christian Reformed Church, Lacombe County on Tuesday, Special thanks go to Dr. Douglas Stewart and his nurse Melissa (Tom Baker, Calgary, AB.), Kim Bailey, his homecare nurse from Lacombe, AB. and last but not least, our beloved Dr. Ronald Smith of Bentley, AB. John will be forever missed. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Lacombe Palliative Care Society, (Box 5576 Lacombe, Alberta, T4L1X2).
