Barbara von Gradulewski passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 69 years. Barbara was born in Stettler, AB. on September 6, 1939. She was married in 1959 and moved to Cranbrook, B.C. in 1961 where she and her husband raised their family. In 2006, Barbara moved to Lacombe, AB. where she resided until her passing. She was an active member of the Lutheran Church and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Barbara is survived by her 3 children; Alfred (Debbie) , Peter (Cindy) , & Doreen (Terry) , her f4 grandchildren; Jennifer (Rob) , Megan, Sara & David, her great granddaughter Madison as well as her

With heavy hearts and red teary eyes, the Cannons announce the passing of their mother, Lorna May. Lorna is survived by Bill (Karen) Glen, Maxine (Rick) and Leland (Rita) and by her sister, Maxine. Her grand children, the light of her eyes, are Doug, Jon (Shari) , Kelly, Meghan, Emily, Matthew, Griffin, Delaney, Autaumn, and Tyson. For eighty years she (and us) did it her way. A celebration honouring her life will be held on Friday April 24, 2009 at 11:00am at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel, 6120 Highway 2A, Lacombe Alberta. Glenda Joanne MCDONALD (nee DYRLAND) tragically passed away in her 42nd year as a result of an horrific car accident on Tuesday, April 14, 2009. Devoted wife of Jim, cherished mother to Sarah (15) , Kallie (13) , Delaney (10) and Cail (6) . Beloved daughter of Sam and Judy DYRLAND of Sylvan Lake. Greatly missed by twin sister Linda (Dany) and brothers Rick and Darcy (Shelley) . A loving auntie to Carson, Madison, Logan, Tyson and Shayna. A dear grand-daughter of Helen DYRLAND. A dear daughter-in-law of Norbert and Patricia MCDONALD of Hamilton, Ontario, and sister-in-law to Charles, Mike (Kathy) , John (Geraldine) and their children Jennie, Mike, Emmie, Meagan, Luke, Madelyn, Shannon and Patrick. She was pre-deceased by her grandparents Rudolf and Meta DAHL, and Joe DYRLAND. Glenda will be truly missed by her husband, children and all of her friends, aunts, uncles and cousins. Glenda had a way of making everyone she met feel special and she will be forever remembered. Clark
George Clark passed away peacefully at the Lacombe Hospital on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the age of 95 years. Born in Aberdeen Scotland to George and Elizabeth Clark on July 17, 1914, he emigrated to Canada with his family in 1919 to Clive, Ab., and then later moved to Toronto, only to return to the farmstead in Clive. George joined the Army in 1941 and was posted in England and served as artillery gunner in France. After becoming wounded and in hospital in Birmingham, England he met his bride Gwendoline Annie Chance and were married April 23, 1945. After returning home, George and Gwen moved on the farm and had one son John. George was employed with Alberta Agriculture (Lacombe Experimental Farm) as well as farming. After retirement George and Gwen moved to Lacombe in 1984 and enjoyed many years of gardening and tinkering in the garage. George lived in his home till Spring of 2008 when he moved to the Lacombe Senior’s Lodge where he had extra loving care from his niece Beverly and then to hospital shortly before his passing. George was predeceased by his loving wife Gwen November 30, 2006. and brothers William, Thomas, Harold and Allan, Sisters Elizabeth, Frances and Barbara. Survived and lovingly remembered by his son John, granddaughters Chelley and Annelies, great-grandchildren Coralee, Tori, and Dakota, brother Albert (Audrey) and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of George’s life will be held at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel, 6120 Highway 2A, Lacombe Alberta, Tuesday, September 08, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. If wished donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, #6 5015 48 Street, Red Deer Alberta, T4N 1S9.
WRIGHT
Mrs. Mabel Wright of Bluffton, Alberta passed away in the Rimbey Hospital & Care Centre on Friday August 28, 2009 at the age of 84 years. Mabel was born on February 26, 1925 in Eureka, Montana to Elsworth and Elisabeth Raber. In 1929 the family moved to Canada, residing in the Turin, Retlaw and Vauxhall area’s. Upon her mothers passing in 1944, the family settled in Barons, Alberta. Mabel was united in marriage to Glen Wright on February 22, 1946. On December 17, 1949 Mabel gave birth to her son Reo. The family farmed in various parts of Alberta prior to finally settling at Bluffton in 1965. Known for her love of children and animals, Mabel spent her time socializing, dancing, collecting dolls and traveling. Predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Glen in 1990, one brother Elmer and a sister Ruth, Mabel is survived by her son Reo of Bluffton, two grandchildren; Devon (Shelly) and Joline and two great grandchildren Justin and Wesley all of Bluffton. Mabel also leaves to mourn two brothers; Howard and Phillip and three sisters; Marylene, Alice and Hazel. Funeral services were held from the Zion Lutheran Church in Rimbey, Alberta on Thursday September 3, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Reverend David Holmes officiating. Interment followed in the Iola Fairview cemetery Bluffton, Alberta. John Noonan passed away surrounded by loved ones at Lacombe Hospital, Alberta on Wednesday, August 26th at 72 years of age. Devoted and loving husband of Mary for 47 years, cherished father of Karen, Irene and predeceased by his son Vincent. Loving Grampa to Natasha, Michaela, Johanna, Sophia and Sarah. Big brother “Johnny” to Terry, Ellen, Cathy, Maureen and the late Vincent and James. We will all remember with great fondness his beautiful singingvoice. A man of great honor; he will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
Glen Elwood Anderson

Glen Elwood Anderson passed away peacefully on August 15, 2009 at the age of 81 at the Red Deer Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife Lucy of 37 years and his cherished daughters Alma (Dave) , Sonia and Cora. His most prized possessions are his three grandchildren Eriq, Kyle and Kala. Glen is survived by his brothers Jack (Helen) , Lloyd (Helen) and sister Maxine (Al) , as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Glen was pre-deceased by his parents Earl and Gertrude, sister Phyllis, brothers Eddie and Orvil, brother in-law Paul Pogadl, sister in-law Ann Anderson, nieces Lynda Pogadl and Barbra Lawton and nephew Trent Anderson. Glen was born in Bentley, Alberta on October 23, 1927 where he was currently residing with his wife Lucy. Glen attended the school for the deaf in Winnipeg, MB from 1939-1940. The R.C.A.F. used the Winnipeg school for the deaf during the war then moved to Montreal where he attended school from 1940-1949. Glen worked for the United Grain Growers Construction for 14 years, building grain elevators, feed mills and fertilizer storage sheds in all of Alberta and parts of the west. Glen met Lucy in 1970 at the Western Canada Association for the Deaf in Winnipeg, MB and was married on Nov 13, 1971. On March 27, 1978 Glen changed careers and worked for the Wolf Creek School Division # 72 for 24 years at the Bentley High School before retiring. In his spare time Glen loved working with wood, carpentry was his passion. Glen’s other passion were sports, especially hockey where he was a goal tender for the Bentley Old Timers for many years. Glen’s outgoing personality and his continuous waves and most importantly all of his “stories” will be greatly missed. Glen was an amazing husband, father, “Papa” and friend to all those who knew him and we will miss him dearly. Special thanks to Dr Keller and to all the amazing staff of Unit A at the Lacombe Hospital. We appreciate everything that you’ve done for Glen. Funeral services will be held on Friday August 21, 2009 @ 1:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Chapel 6120 Highway 2A Lacombe. Burial service to follow at the Vig Cemetery. HOWSON, Wiliam Robinson
March 24, 1928 - August 8, 2009
It is with great sadness that the family of Bill Howson of Gull Lake, Alberta announce his passing after a lengthy illness. Left to miss him so very much are Beth, his dearly beloved wife of 55 years, his greatly loved children; Joan (Jeff) McMurray, Bruce Howson and Martha Howson, as well as his precious grandchildren Gavin (Wendy) Verschuren and Courtney Verschuren and great grandson Marcus. Bill is also survived by his dear sister Isabel Wynne, brothers and sisters-in-law Margaret and Ed Kemp and Robert and Doreen Newton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his father Chief Justice W.R. Howson, his mother Jane Howson, and his sister Margaret Craig. Although he started teaching after working in sales, the 19 years he spent in the classroom touched many lives and brought him great joy. During Bill’s retirement, he enjoyed traveling, gardening, and being active in the Gull Lake Community where he served 6 years as mayor. Bill was a generous man, both publicly and privately; he did his best to help others. Funeral Services will be held at the St. Andrew’s United Church, 5226 51 ave, Lacombe Alberta, on Monday, August 17, 2009 at 2:00 pm. Margaret Elizabeth Huss (nee Adams) passed away peacefully on August 7, 2009 at the age of 96 years, having spent the past 3 months in residence at the Extended Care Unit of the Lacombe Community Health Care Center. Funeral Services will be held from Wilson’s Funeral Chapel, 6120 Highway 2A, Lacombe, AB. on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 @ 1:30 P.M. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Lacombe. Earl William Docherty
Born: Sat Feb 7, 1942
Died: Thu Mar 15, 2012
Earl passed away peacefully after a short but courageous battle with cancer. His love for the outdoors and hunting often took him places to live, work and play in Alberta and other places such as the Yukon. Fondness for the territory prompted the name of their special Dalmatian dog, Yukon, who was his co-pilot along with their other special dog, Ike.
Friends, neighbours, hunting buddies, nephews, nieces, his children and grandchildren spent many hours with Earl on his adventures.
Earl was an honest, hardworking businessman who was known and respected throughout the oilfield industry, hunting circles and surrounding communities. He will be remembered fondly, with a smile, for his famous pranks/jokes, whisker rubs and tickle sessions.
Earl is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bonnie; son Tim Docherty (Alayna) ; daughters Holly (Wayne) Buelow; Pam Kullman (Todd) ; Kerry Docherty (Patrick) and son in law Bob Kullman.
Grandchildren: Cole, Jake, Brady, Rayne, Abraham-Earl; Sammi (Allen) , Jessica; Kevin, Bill, Jamie, Bradley, Kimberly; Sean and Ruby. Survived by his brother Ken (Sherry) Docherty; sisters Gwen (Willie) Rempel, Laurie (Fred) Schreiner and brother in law Pat Yandeau; 24 nieces and nephews; and many friends. Earl was predeceased by his parents James & Lola Docherty; sister Myrnel Yandeau and grandson Dan Buelow.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday March 21, 2012 at the Alix Community Hall in Alix, AB at 2:00 p.m.
