With a heavy heart, the families of Tony Girouard announce his passing on November 2, 2014 in Hinton, Alberta. Tony was 81 years old.
Left to mourn his loss and cherish all that he was is his beloved family; wife and best friend for 49 years, Eliane, and their children; daughter, Linda (Darren) of Ft. St. John, BC, and son, Robert (Shana) of Hinton, AB. Tony is survived by his precious grandchildren, Jeremy Anthony, Jenna, Christopher, Nicole and Lauren. Tony is further survived by his sisters, Yolande and Helen (Ron), both of Winnipeg, MN as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of treasured friends.
Tony was predeceased by his parents, Adolph and Olive, his brother, Mike, and his sisters, Germaine, Raymonde, and Claire.
A Memorial Service for Tony will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Mountain Rose Funeral Homes Chapel located at 210 Kelley Road Hinton, AB with Pastor Bill Bulger officiating.
The family wishes to say special Thank You to Dr. Armstrong, nurses, Maureen and Alana and Derek as well as all the hospital staff for caring for Tony with such compassion and understanding.

Pahkala, Ramona Ruth
With great sadness the families of Ramona Pahkala announce her passing on October 20, 2014 in Hinton, Alberta at the age of 82 years.
Left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory is her beloved family; husband and best friend of 33 years, Owen Pahkala, and Ramona’s children, Marilyn (Larry) Delyea of Edmonton, AB, Robert (Joanne) Rasmussen of Edmonton, AB, and Roger (Judith) Rasmussen of Charlotte, North Carolina. Ramona leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Kevin, Brent, Travis, James, Adam, Rachel, Sarah, David, Heather and great grandchildren; Logan, Vanessa and Josiah. Ramona is survived by her brothers; Leo (Edna) Brietzke and James (Lucy) Brietzke both of Three Hills, AB; as well numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of many treasured friends.
Ramona was predeceased by her parents; Chester and Alice Brietzke and one sister, Lucille.
Funeral Services for Ramona will be held on Friday October 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Gateway Community Church with Pastor Mark De Kluyver officiating. Following this service Ramona will be laid to rest at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Hinton, AB.
The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to the staff at the Hinton Hospital and the Good Samaritan’s Mountain View Centre for all the excellent care they gave to Ramona.
Taylor, Margaret Jean
The families of Margaret Taylor announce her sudden passing on October 7, 2014 in Hinton, Alberta at the age of 68 years.
Left to treasure her memory and mourn her loss is her beloved family; husband of 48 years, Merlyn (Mert) Taylor and their children; Randy Taylor of Wildwood, AB, Bruce (Tina Kruse-Taylor ) Taylor of Edson, AB and Cindy Taylor of Calgary, AB, as well her beloved 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Margaret is survived by her brothers; Clark (Ally) White of Fruitvale, BC, John (Karen) Audia of Trail, BC, sisters, Josephine/Josie (Dale) McRobbie of Calgary, AB, Debbie (Austin) McIntyre of Airdrie, AB as well many cousins, nieces, nephews and many treasured lifelong friends.
As Margaret leaves this life, she is welcomed to her new life everlasting by her mother and father, mother and father in law, brother in law, Bill Taylor, sister in law, Phyllis Kendrick- Taylor and sister, Judy Peloquin.
A Celebration of Life was held for Margaret on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Doug Heine officiating. Cremation will take place following this service.

McLean, Elsie Adeline
It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our mom and mentor, Elsie McLean. Mom died peacefully at the age of 92 on August 29, 2014 in Whitecourt, surrounded by her loving family.
Elsie was born on a homestead near Frog Lake, Alberta on December 10, 1921 to Abram and Rachel Granger. She was the last of her generation and was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd McLean, brothers, Fred, Earl and Lorne and sisters, Jean, Effie and Nellie.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dorothy Smith (Neal), Cliff McLean, Ken McLean (Linda), Carol McLean, Mel McLean (Wendy), Bernice Lloyd (Randy) and Yvonne Murphy (John), 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, in-laws and lifelong friends.
A wake will be held at the Whitecourt United Church, 5201 – 50 Street at 7:00 pm on Friday, September 5. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, September 6, at the same location with Reverend Alwin Maben officiating. Luncheon will follow.
Interment will follow at a later date in Whitecourt.

GROSE, Colleen Marie
Colleen was a strong, adventurous, loving and passionate woman and will be sadly missed. She passed away at the Grande Cache Community Health Complex on September 3, 2014 at the age of 71 years.
Colleen was born on July 3, 1943 in Lacombe, Alberta to Ruby and Carson Graydon. In 1962, she married her husband and best friend Victor Grose, celebrating 52 years in June. She moved with her family to Grande Cache in 1972. She was known for her community spirit and served on many associations, boards and committees to promote the town she loved. For almost 30 years she was part owner and dedicated financial controller of Skyline Motor Company. She loved travel and adventure, and especially spending winters in San Jose Del Cabo. She also looked great in pink!
Colleen was an incredible wife, mom and grandma who loved her time with family. Left to cherish her memory; her husband Victor Grose and her children, Ed & Lynette Grose (Emily & Carson) of Red Deer, Laurel & Arlen Pahl of Peace River (Kristina & Robin & Carter Peters, Sheralyn & Johann Windt), Carolyn & Rick Petrie of Grande Prairie (Eric & Jaydan). Colleen is also survived by her siblings, Pat Weller, Don Graydon and Cheryl Christiansen, as well as other family members and treasured friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at Pineview Alliance Church, 10201 Hoppe Avenue, Grande Cache, Alberta on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Colleen’s memory.
Raven, Christopher Willem
With heavy hearts and great sadness the families of Chris Raven announce his sudden passing on September 18, 2014 in Hinton, Alberta. Chris was 33 years old.
Left to mourn the loss and cherish his memory is his loving family; his mother, Janet Canning of Hinton, Alberta, father, Andrew (Anita) Raven of Airdrie, Alberta, sisters, Megan (Travis Lunn) Raven and daughter, Abbigail Lunn of Hinton, Alberta and Josie (Gregory Paterson) Raven of Edmonton, Alberta. Chris is also survived by many other relatives and many treasured friends.
Chris was predeceased by his Grandma Canning, Auntie Colleen and his cousin, Brody.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Chris on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 102 Sunwapta Drive, in Hinton, Alberta, with Pastor Doug Heine officiating. A luncheon will be held following this service at the meeting room at the Rancher’s Sports Bar and Grille, 438 Smith Street, Hinton, Alberta.

Alice Louise Palashniuk-Litke
With a heavy heart the families of Alice Palashniuk- Litke announce her passing on August 5, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Alice was 64 years.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving family; husband and life mate of 34 years, Chuck Litke, and her children, Stephen (Denise) Palashniuk of Hinton, Alberta and Joseph (Erin) Palashniuk of Calgary, Alberta. Alice is survived by her treasured grandchildren, Cole, Hannah and Bryce. Alice is survived by her two brothers; Walter Pulleyblank of Edmonton, Alberta, Robert Pulleyblank of Mayerthorpe, Alberta as well numerous other family and many lifelong treasured friends.
Alice was predeceased by her parents; Stephen and Mary Pulleyblank.
Funeral Services for Alice will be held on August 12, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Hinton Alliance Church with Pastor Bill Bulger presiding over the service. Alice will be laid to rest at the Woodlawn Cemetery following this service.

Cherman (Chermesnok), Donald Gerald
The families of Don Cherman, of Hinton, AB wish to announce his passing on August 13, 2014. Don was 69 years old.
Left to mourn the loss and cherish Don’s memory is his beloved family; wife of 43 years, Gerry Cherman and their children, Laurel Cherman of Edmonton, AB and Aaron (Jade Cunningham) Cherman of Hinton, AB. Don is survived by one brother, Roger (Dianne) Chermesnok of Fort St. James, BC ; one niece and two nephews; his mother in law, Ann Stogryn of Red Deer, AB, as well as many other relatives and numerous lifelong friends, and of course his treasured beagle, Joey.
Don was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers.
Don was predeceased by his parents; Nicholas and Dorothy Chermesnok.
In keeping with Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life for Don will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Mountain Rose Funeral Home Chapel, 210 B Kelley Road, Hinton, Alberta.
