HICKMAN

HICKMAN - On December 9, 2004 George Sydney Hickman of Innisfail, Alberta after a courageous battle with cancer, left this world to join his parents and brothers in a better one. George was born April 18, 1928 at Killarny, Manitoba the youngest child of Bill and Mary Hickman. At a very young age he moved with his family to Bowsman, Manitoba where George resided until 1967 when a move brought him to Alberta. His working life in Manitoba consisted of farm work and the hotel service industry. In Alberta he continued his career in the hotel business in Penhold, Red Deer and Delburne. He retired in 1986 moving to Innisfail in 1994 where he enjoyed cards, bocci ball, old time music sessions and trading stories with his friends. George leaves to mourn his passing his wife of fifty four years, Alice; his daughters, Judy (Mal), Carol (Dwayne), Gail, Lynda (Steve); and his only son, Murray. He leaves also his grandchildren, Glen, Ritchie, Dwayne Jr., Chris, Raymond (Lisa), Adrian, Wayne (Patty) and Russel (Leeann); great-grandchildren, Wendy and Vicky. George is also survived by two sisters, Irene Bailey and Kay Tall. George was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Mary; and his brothers, Tom and Cecil. George also leaves many nieces, nephews and dear, dear friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #104, Innisfail, Alberta. As a memorial tribute to George Hickman a tree will be planted in the Tree Memorial Park (Innisfail) by Innisfail Funeral Home & Crematorium, 4415-49th Street, Innisfail. Telephone 227-0006.

BERTSCH, Irene

BERTSCH - Irene Irene Bertsch, much loved sister, aunt passed away peacefully on December 12th, 2004 at the age of 79. Irene was born on October 9th, 1925 in Eureka, South Dakota. Irene was just four years old when she moved with her family to Canada from the United States. She developed a wonderful spirit of love for her family and cared for each one all her life. Irene moved to Red Deer in 1965 where her focus became a love for the people she was surrounded by. Her memorable smile and laughter will be cherished by all who knew her. Irene is survived by her two sisters Tilley Seibel of Red Deer and Esther Bertsch of Drumheller along with many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank those in her Senior's Home who cared for her and loved her so much. Your constant caring, loving and sharing will be something that is cherished. Thank you. A special thanks to Jennifer Studor, who faithfully brought her to church every Sunday and to those who cared for her at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be held at Livingstones Church, 2020-40th Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. the Rev. Harold Hunter will officiate. Mitchell

Mitchell, Hugh Ivan - Hugh (Mitch) Mitchell passed away at the Foothills Hospital after a brief illness on December 9, 2004 at the age of 83 years. Mitch is survived by his wife, Thelma, three daughters; Judy (Jim) Allan of Red Deer, Joanne Haselden of Red Deer and Terry Mitchell of Red Deer, one grandson, Jason Mitchell Haselden of London, England, one brother, Tom Mitchell of Winnipeg, Manitoba and one sister, Marg Young of Morden, Manitoba as well as numerous nieces and nephews across western Canada. A Memorial Service will be held at the Red Deer Funeral Home (6150 - 67 Street) on Thursday, December 16, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements in care of the

LEEDHOLM, Leona

LEEDHOLM, Leona - It is with great sadness, but gentle relief that we announce the passing of our loved one Leona Leedholm at 78 years of age. Surrounded by her family she went to be with her Lord and Savoir on December 10, 2004. Leona was born April 17, 1926 on their family farm near Lockwood, Sask. and lived there until 1951. She then attended Canadian Nazarene College in Red Deer, after earning her diploma in Christian Education she returned to the family farm for a short time before moving to Lougheed. It was in Lougheed that she met her life long partner Arthur Leedholm and they were married in 1953. Leona was particularly well known for her gift of music, which she often shared, by singing gospel music in solos, duets, trios and quartets. Leona has long been known for her unselfish, giving personality and gift of hospitality. The doors of her home were always open to others. Leona's love for her Lord was always so apparent in her kind, gentle, caring ways and this will leave an imprint on all who had the opportunity to know her. She will be missed and forever remembered by her loving family, husband Arthur, sons Dwayne (Jane) of Lougheed, Jerry of Blackfalds, daughters Carolyn (Bryan) Anderson and Brenda (Randy) Cox of Red Deer, grandchildren, Jennifer (Barry) Klassen, Jeff (Stacey) Leedholm, Allison, Amanda, Rebecca Leedholm, Chris Leedholm, Curtis Scott, Mike (Tasha) Anderson, Cara-Leigh (Trevor) Cox, 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Leona was predeceased by her only sibling David Lamar Graff. Family and friends are welcome to come and pay their respects on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at Parkland Funeral Home 6287 - 67A Street, Red Deer from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Alto Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, December 16th, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Leona's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on December 16, 2004, at The First Church of the Nazarene, 2 Mcvicar Street, Red Deer. If desired memorial donations in Leona's honour may be made to Bethany Care Society, CollegeSide, Palliative Care, 1001 - 17th Street NW, Calgary, Alberta, T2N 2E5 or Charity of donor's choice. In living memory of Leona Leedholm, a tree will be planted in the Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium Memorial Tree Park.

SCOTT

SCOTT, G.R. - Mr. G. R. 'Kipp' Scott, beloved husband of Mrs. Edith Scott of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at his home, with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, December 12, 2004 at the age of 77 years. Kipp was born on June 25, 1927 at Calgary, Alberta. Kipp was an extremely generous and caring person whose passion was business. An eternal optimist with a terrific sense of humour, Kipp responded positively to everyone he met, regardless of their age or calling. In Red Deer, Kipp went on to develop one of General Motors largest and most successful dealerships which is now owned and managed by his son, Gordon. Kipp appreciated the assistance he received when first establishing his business and made a lifetime of assisting others with his generosity and insight. He always offered a hand to anyone willing to get on the ladder and climb. Kipp savoured a good laugh and loved to be in the company of others who saw humour in all of life's circumstances. He loved to travel and enjoyed many trips and adventures with family and close friends. Kipp eagerly participated in all that life had to offer. He embraced any and all technological advances with a fervor. Kipp's family and his numerous friends are going to dearly miss his warmth, his confident radiance, and his eternal optimism. Kipp leaves to mourn his loss, his loving wife of fifty-four years, Edith, his daughters, Connie (Bob) McFarlane and Carol (Rob) Warrender and his son, Gordon (Rhonda), six grandchildren; Angela (Dave) Leonard, Nicola (Jeff) Meier, Rachel Warrender, Jillian Warrender, Garrett Scott, Kellie Scott and one great grandson; Jackson Leonard. He will also be sadly missed by two sisters, Norma (Jack) McCaskie and Betty Ashby, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, whose lives he also affected positively. Kipp was predeceased by his mother and father, Gertrude and Roy Scott. A Celebration of Kipp's Life will be held at the CrossRoads Church, 32nd Street & Highway 2, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, December 16, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Captain Colin Bain of The Salvation Army officiating. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. A Private Family Interment will be held at the Columbarium, Alto-Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Kipp's honour may be made directly to the Red Deer Salvation Army Church, 4837 - 54th Street, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 2G5 or to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, C/O The Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 - 29th Street NW, Calgary, Alberta, T2N 4N2 (403) 944-2433. HOSKIN - Mrs. Eleanor Hoskin (Reaugh) of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Saturday, December 11, 2004. Eleanor will be lovingly remembered by one son, Gordon Reaugh of Bluffton, Alberta; and two daughters, Marilee Fath of Red Deer; and Joanne (Garry) Marek, also of Bluffton; her daughter-in-law, Joanne Reaugh of Rimbey; as well as five grandchildren, Devin Reaugh, Garrett Reaugh, Ryan Fath, Michael Marek, and Morgan Marek. She will also be lovingly remembered by one sister, Doreen Newby of Calgary. Eleanor was predeceased by Melvin Reaugh and John Hoskin. An Interment Service will be held at the West Haven Cemetery, Rimbey on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at
11:00 a.m. Funeral Services in Celebration of Eleanor's Life will follow at the Rimbey United Church, Rimbey at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Deborah Laing officiating. GALLAGHER (Triebwasser) - Cherice Gallagher of Caddo, OK. passed away suddenly on Dec. 1, 2004 at the age of 69. Cherice was born in Calgary and attended school in Lacombe and Fresno City College where she became a L.V.N. Cherice married Ronald Werner, had 4 child-ren. Cherice worked for over 23 years for the California Armenian Home in Fresno, CA., retired and moved to Caddo, OK. Cherice was predeceased by her daughter Cheryl Werner, brother Merl Triebwasser, mother and father Hazel and Albert Triebwasser, niece Teresa Triebwasser. She is survived by her former husbands Ronald Werner, Bill Gallagher, and children Gerry Werner of Caddo, OK., Kathy (Joe) Lanctot of Madera, CA. and Larry (Joanne) Werner of Innisfail, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Lee and Floyd Triebwasser, sister Ruth Kilmer and numerous nieces nephews. Cherice touched the hearts of all who knew her and she will be deeply missed. Funeral services were held on Dec. 4, 2004 in Caddo, OK.
