Joyce, beloved wife of Roy Fjordbotten of Granum, passed away peacefully in Claresholm surrounded by family.
A loving mother, grandmother and friend, she is survived by her husband Roy, their children Brenda (Ron) McLeod, Paul (Donna) Fjordbotten, Wayne (Suzanne) Fjordbotten, Kevin (Diane) Fjordbotten, her grandchildren Raine and Bobbie; Brent, Robyn and Kyle; Scott and Ryan; Jesse and Krista.
She is also survived by her sisters Fay Doyl and Evelyn Vandergrift, her brother Joe Donahue and Michael Donahue and their families.
She was predeceased by her parents Bud and Charlotte Donahue.
A private graveside service will be held Monday, September 24, 2007.
A celebration of Joyce's life will be held at Granum Lutheran Church on Monday, September 24, 2007 at 2:00 p.m.
Following the service friends are invited to meet with the family at the Granum Drop-in.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial donations may be made in Joyce's name to the charity of your choice.
Angie Joyce East
May 15, 1919 - September 22, 2007
On Saturday, September 22, 2007, at the age of 88 years, Angie passed away peacefully in her sleep at Bow View Manor in Calgary, shortly after visiting with her family.
Angie will be greatly missed by her son Bert (Calgary), her daughter Susan and son-in-law Gerry Moysa (Edmonton), her grandchildren Christine and Scott East (Calgary) and Geoff Moysa and his wife Andrea (Toronto), and her niece Marla Scollon.
Angie was predeceased by her husband Laurence in 1987, brother Boyd Willett, and sisters Roberta Sergeant and Laura Bickerton.
Angie was also predeceased in childhood by Frances, Stanley and Blanton.
An avid reader, skilled bridge player, long-time volunteer and great cat lover, Angie was a kind, generous, thoughtful and understanding wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
Angie was a long-standing member of both the Glencoe Club and Earl Grey Golf Club.
Even into her late eighties, Angie was recognized by all she came in contact with as a humourous and spirited woman, and she made fast friends among the residents and staff of Royal Park Retirement Residence.
Special thanks to all of the staff at Bow View Manor for their kindness, care and compassion.
A private memorial service will be held later this week.

Mr. Raymond Royd Mahaffey
September 11, 1918 - September 23, 2007
Ray Mahaffey passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2007 at the age of 89. He is survived by his wife Helene, and sons Brian (Julie Bain) and Patrick (Colleen McCracken), daughter Shelagh, and grandchildren Rebekah, Stephen, Fiona and Bridget. He is also survived by his brothers Clarence and Boyd, his sisters Idell and Clara. He was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Florence, his half-brother Major, and his sister Louise. Ray was born in Kitscoty, AB on September 11, 1918. He attained his LLB at the University of Alberta earning the Chief Justice’s Gold Medal. In 1942, he joined the 5th Medium Artillery and served Overseas in England, Italy and Europe. He returned to Canada in 1946 and took his MA degree at the University of Toronto. He practiced law in Yellowknife and Edmonton before joining the law division of Chevron Standard in Calgary in 1949, becoming the General Consul. After his retirement in 1983, he enjoyed traveling overseas, having lunch with friends and his tri-weekly aquasize classes with his group at the Glencoe Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to The Salvation Army (2 Overlea Boulevard, Toronto, Ontario M4H 1P4) or Operation Eyesight Universal (4 Parkdale Crescent NW, Calgary, Alberta T2N 3T8). His Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church (903 75 Avenue SW, Calgary) on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Grant Rodgers officiating. Emily "Ivy" (Moore) Grimstead

Grimstead, Emily "Ivy" (Moore) - On September 26, 2007 Ivy passed away peacefully at the age of 100 years.
Left to cherish her memory is her brother John, her children; Ken (Barry) Moore and their children Grant, Sandi and Lynn; Ivy May Flarup and her children Jackie (Kevin) Uhrig, Ray and Dana Flarup; and Dennis (Marilyn) Moore and their children Dave, Barbara (Mike) Nason and Doug Moore, 12 great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Ivy was predeceased by her first husband Jack Moore, her second husband Art Grimstead, her sister Winnie Ritchie, and her son-in-law Roy Flarup.
A Celebration of Ivy's Life will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton.
Mr. Homer Ogston
February 9, 1915 - September 26, 2007
Homer Ogston passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, on September 26, 2007 at Chinook Hospice. He was 92. Homer was predeceased by his wife Mildred in 1994.
He is survived by his sister Alberta McDermid of Winnipeg, and his brothers Rollie Ogston of Portland, Oregon and Ray Ogston of Winnipeg. He is lovingly remembered by his children Patricia (Pius) Rolheiser, Wendy (Bob) Miller, and Michael (Sandra) Ogston; and by his grandchildren Patty (Bob) Lee, Cindy (Darren) Nyhoff, Dan Miller, Susan (Roland) Milligan and Tim (Contessa) Griffith. He also leaves his proud, loving great-grandchildren Thomas and Candice Lee, Graham and Emily Milligan, Melissa Miller and Marino Griffith.
He will also be lovingly remembered by his dear friends Mary Reddekopp and Margaret Hislop. Homer was born on February 9, 1915 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the eldest son of Albert and Annie Elizabeth Ogston. He was fleet of foot, and held the record for the 100-yard dash at his high school for many years.
He married Mildred Annie Rowe in January, 1939 and served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II.
Homer had a long and distinguished career in the petroleum industry. His first job was digging holes by hand for underground fuel tanks for British American Oil, and when he retired years later, he was a Marketing Vice-president for Gulf Canada.
He loved golf, and spent many happy days on the links, shooting an amazing three holes-in-one over the years.
Homer and Mildred also loved the ocean and lived for many years on the San Luis Obispo coast. Homer was a friend to all who knew him and a neighbor to all who needed help.
In 2006, he was recognized for his volunteer work, being named an Outstanding Calgary Senior by the Alberta Association on Gerontology.
The family wishes to thank all the staff and residents of the Wentworth Manor for their friendship and care for Homer.
We also wish to thank the staff of Unit 73 at the Rockyview Hospital, and the amazing, caring staff of Chinook Hospice. Our special thanks to Dr. Gordon Melling and Sharon for their kind care.
Homer's family loves and misses him. "He was a man - take him for all and all. I shall not look upon his like again."
A Memorial Service celebrating Homer's life will take place on Saturday, September 29 at 1:00 p.m. at First Christian Reformed Church, 3818 - 14a Street S.W.
