Peter Bostow of Calgary passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at the age of 92 years.
Peter will be fondly remembered by his loving family and friends for his quick wit and remarkable sense of humor. Before his retirement, Peter had a long association with Premier Laundry and then later with Firestone.
Peter was predeceased by his loving wife Doris in 1999, his son Leonard in 2002, and his grandson Brian in 1999. He is survived by his three daughters and their spouses, Bernice and Maurice Espey, Linda and Dennis Toews and Suzie and Jack McPherson.; his devoted grandchildren and spouses Sheryl (Jaret) Burgoyne, Michelle (Dave) Samoil, Jennifer (Mark) Leduc, Tim (Suzanne Thill) McPherson, Trevor (Lindsey) McPherson as well as his five great-grandchildren. All will deeply miss him.
A celebration of Peter’s Life will be held at Leyden’s Chapel of Remembrance, corner of 17th Avenue and 2nd Street SW, Calgary, Alberta on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Alzheimer Society of Calgary, Suite 201, 222-58th Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta T2H 2S3.

Donald Stuppard
June 12, 1924 - October 15, 2007
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Donald McLeod Stuppard at the Mount Royal Care Centre (Calgary) where he resided along with Irene, his loving wife of 57 years. Don, aged 83 years was born and raised in Winnipeg. During his youth he spent many happy times at the family lake cottage at Husavick Manitoba. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Peter Jackin and in-laws Elsie and Nelson Leatherdale. He is survived by wife Irene, sister Norman Jackin, brother Robert Stuppard, uncle Sid Stimpson, cousins Sandra and Jack Koch, and Beryl and Bruce Bays. Many thanks to long-time friends Marjorie Miller and Dorothy Holmes for their love and support. Having worked in Winnipeg at Great West Life, and the Winnipeg Tribune, Don joined Chevron Oil Co. (Calgary) in 1956 and received several prestigious awards for his work as senior Economic Evaluation Specialist. Other associations included Honors Bachelor of Commerce University of Manitoba, Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, Canadian Petroleum Association, and the Calgary Professional Association. At retirement much time was spent on traveling to Scottsdale, Arizona where Don expanded his interest in painting, He also enjoyed many trips abroad. The family wish to thank Dr. verBeek and the staff at Mount Royal for their outstanding caring dedication to Don’s well being and quality of life. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 11:00 am in Leyden’s Bow Valley Chapel (corner of 17th Avenue and 2nd Street SW). Maurice Lincoln Austin
March 19, 1921 - October 18, 2007
Maurice Lincoln Austin passed away peacefully at the Chinook Hospice on October 18, 2007 at the age of 86 years. He is the loving father of Nadine Austin of Hawaii, USA, Maureen Austin (Ken Petersen) and Lincoln (Brenda) Austin of Calgary, AB. He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Candy Regan (Koman Busat), Erin (Curtis) Jessome, Reno Mendoza, Megan Austin and Mark Austin; great-grandchildren Jason, Jessica, Keakoa, Keilei and Kaipo, one brother, Dwight (Imogene) Austin of California, USA, two sisters-in-law Maxine Austin and Della Austin and numerous nieces and nephews.
Maurice was predeceased by his loving wife Clare in 2003 and by his siblings, Verna, Kenneth, Wayne and Maxine.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at Leyden’s Funeral Home (Corner of 17th Avenue & 2nd Street SW) on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church (2223-34th Street SW) on Friday, October 26, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Robert Dielissen presiding. Graveside services will follow at Rosebud Cemetery, Rosebud, Alberta.

Mrs. Shelley Joan Melnychuk
March 17, 1956 - October 17, 2007
On October 17, 2007, Shelley Melnychuk passed away at the age of 51 years, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick; two children, Brittany and Tyler; mother, Joan Hall; brothers, Shawn (Tami), Scott (Gilles), Ryan (Lisa); step mother, Roberta Hall; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
Shelley was predeceased by her father, Warren Hall.
A Celebration of Shelley's life will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home, south of Wye Road, on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park, on Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at 3:00 pm.

Mary (Kathelynn) Frances Occena
June 3, 1998 - October 18, 2007
Occena, Mary Frances Kathelynn, beloved daughter of Genevieve Occena of Calgary, passed away at the Alberta Children’s Hospital on Thursday, October 18th, 2007 at the age of 9 years. Besides her loving mother, Kathelynn will be dearly missed by her sister Julia, Mama D, Mama C, Pops and great grandma Crawford in Winnipeg. Kathelynn will also be lovingly remembered by her Tita Nancy, Papa Laird and Mama Erma in Pine Falls, Amanda Magliocca – Kaka’s best friend, the staff and students of Mountain View Academy and Kathelynn’s extended family in Philippines and here in Calgary. Kathelynn was born in Calgary on June 3, 1998 and was a promising Grade 4 student at Mountain View Academy. She loved the outdoors, people, animals and was loved by all who knew her sweet smile. The family would like to thank the paramedics and all those whose prayers, thoughts and help have been extended to us in this time of grief.
