October 9, 1942 - October 28, 2007
Allen Dale Williams died tragically on Sunday, October 28, 2007 doing what he loved best - flying airplanes. A man with vision and a small plane; Allen, CEO and founder of A D Williams Engineering Inc., grew the firm from one engineer to the innovative company it is today.
They have 5 offices across Western Canada and the NWT, employing over 160 people. No one had a greater sense of adventure than Allen.
If he wasn’t canoeing down some remote river, flying to the Arctic or sailing in Desolation Sound, he would be off to some other far away place - skiing, cycling or back packing. His love of adventure was surpassed only by his love for family and friends.
Allen will be missed by his children: Reagan (Mandelle), Sheldon (Nancy), and Sabrina (Sean). He will be especially missed by his best friend and wife, Dorothy. Allen’s greatest joy came from his four grandchildren: Kate, Keenan, Fen and Hayden and he was eagerly awaiting the birth of his 5th.
Allen loved to tell stories; he loved laughter; he loved life.
He was inspirational. Because of him, people were able to achieve things beyond their expectations.
A Celebration of Allen’s Life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 3rd at the Alberta Aviation Museum, 11410 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5G OX4.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Allen Williams Memorial Fund, supporting Search and Rescue in the Golden area.
