He is predeceased by his parents, eldest brother Motoharu, and infant daughter Yukiko. Itsuo is survived by his loving wife Harumi, and daughter Akiko, and son Kenta; four brothers, Keiich, Yoshio, Akira, and Yusaku; and sister Fujiko Uto; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral Service was held at the REGINA FUNERAL HOME, Highway 1 East, on Wednesday, July 9, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. A Reception followed the Service in the Regina Funeral Home - Arbor Room. Prayers were held at the Regina Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 8, 1997 at 7:00 p.m. Special thanks to Dr. Ekong, and Dr. Alexander, Dr. Peti, Dr. Izumi and all the staff on Level 9 at the Plains Hospital, as well as Sylvia Keall and a heartfelt thank-you for the support shown to us by our close friends and office staff of Saskatchewan Research Council and Saskatchewan Energy and Mines. KITCHER - Gladys Kitcher of Vancouver, B.C. passed away on November 9, 1997 on her 100th birthday and then went to celebrate it with her Lord. Predeceased by her husband Eric, and daughter Ruth Geraldine Rasmussen, her sisters, Ina Slater, Hillary Robertson, brothers, Gordon Cleland and John Cleland. She will be lovingly remembered by her son-in-law Dr. Roy L. Rasmussen; grandchildren, Greig, Brian (Riitta) and Lori Rasmussen; nieces and nephews, especially Gordon and Ann-Marie Robertson; also by great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral Services will be held at LEYDEN'S "Chapel of Remembrance" (17 Avenue and 2 Street S.W.), on Saturday, November 15, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Moland of Sharon Lutheran Church officiating. Interment to follow in Union Cemetery. KITCHING - Mildred (Millie), beloved wife of Robert (Bob), passed away suddenly at the Peter Lougheed on December 19, 1997 at the age of 68 years. Besides her husband, Millie is survived by her son Robert Cottingham of Vancouver, BC; her brothers, Eldon (Shirley) Legary, Melvin (Winnie) Legary, Duane (Leona) Legary, Ken (Beverly) Legary; and her sister Jean Askewe. Millie is also survived by her grandchildren, Charlene, Birkley and Sterling; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and friends. Memorial Services to be held at a later date in Edmonton, AB. KLASSEN - Dietrich "Dick" Klassen went to his "Heavenly Home" November 21, 1997. Dick was born in Russia in 1912 and came to Canada with his mother, brothers and sisters in 1926. He farmed in the Brooks area and formed a number of Sunday Schools in the area. Prior to his retirement he worked for Al's Trucking in Brooks and Bow Valley Transport in Calgary. Dick moved to Calgary in 1971 and attended both Westbourne and the Properties Baptist Churches. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Evans and Nettie Klassen and his brother Pete. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W. on Sunday, November 23, 1997 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services are to be conducted at Westbourne Baptist Church, 823 - 64 Avenue N.W. on Monday, November 24, 1997 at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery. KLEMENT - John, aged 61 years, of Calgary and Okotoks, passed away July 1, 1997 at Okotoks. He is the beloved father of Kevin and Michelle of Calgary, and Kim of Cremona. He is also survived by three brothers, Charles of Calgary, Leslie (Marlene) of Santa Barbara, California, and George Klement of Calgary; two sisters, Elizabeth Szmoylan and Helen (Jim) Page of Calgary; and a special friend Brenda as well as numerous nieces and nephews. KNAPP - Dorothy Eloise Knapp was called home by her Lord on November 24, 1997. She is survived by her loving husband Howard; her children, Pastor Garth Knapp (Myrna), Reg Knapp (Shirley), Dr. John Knapp (Val), Becky Seibold (Len) and Beth Lomenda (Darrell); eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; as well as a sister Ferna Assman (Fred). She was predeceased by a sister Elsie Flewwelling. Dorothy was born December 22, 1914 in Naco, Alberta. Married on November 8, 1939, Dorothy and Howard recently celebrated fifty-eight years together. She will be sadly missed by her family and her many, many friends. Funeral Services will be held at the Full Gospel Tabernacle, 155 Falconridge Crescent N.E. on Friday, November 28, 1997 at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Garth Knapp officiating. KNAUS - Friedrich Reinhard Knaus (Fred) of Calgary passed away at the Rockyview Hospital Intensive Care Unit on December 9, 1997 at the age of 81 years. Fred was born to parents, Katherine and Godfrey Knaus in Winnipeg on November 24, 1916. He was educated and raised most of his life in Calgary. On May 26, 1942 he joined the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve and maintained active service until October 24, 1945. He then went to work for the Alberta Wheat Pool and became a department manager for the grain inspection sector, and worked there for thirty years until retirement in 1974. Fred and his brother David purchased a house on the same block as their sister Geraldine in 1967 and resided there until his passing. Fred is survived by his sister Geraldine Schroeder of Canmore; and nephews, Bradley Schroeder of Toronto and Darryl Schroeder of Calgary. He was predeceased by his brother, David Knaus (April 10, 1993) and by his sister, Laura Clifford (December 1, 1994). Fred was a kind and thoughtful man. He will dearly be missed by everyone who knew him. The family would especially like to thank the Intensive Care Unit staff at the Rockyview Hospital for their dedication and sincerity. Funeral Services will be held at LEYDEN'S "Chapel of Remembrance" (17 Avenue and 2 Street S.W.) today at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. C. Tom McLaughlin of Wesley United Church officiating. KNIGHT - Lillian passed away at Cedars Villa Nursing Home on Tuesday, June 24, 1997 at the age of 93. She will be missed by all of her relatives and friends. She enjoyed a lifetime of teaching, pioneering the teaching of the hearing handicapped. At Lillian's request no Service will be held.
