He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of fifty-five years, Leona (Phillips); three sons and one daughter, Dan and Henrietta, Terry and Leonie of St. Albert, Barry and Roslyn of Calgary, and Ronda and Bill Chestnutt of Beaumont; four grandsons and four granddaughters, Jeremy and his friend Aimee, Ashley and his fiancee Trish, Mahlon, Brandie and Amber, all of St. Albert, Sarah and Kaitlin Chestnutt of Beaumont, and Benjamin Chugg of Calgary; one brother Rev. Larmour Chugg and Mildred; two sisters, Madeline and Jim Bedingfield of Calgary, and Isabelle Bremner of Kamloops, B.C.; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Earl and Marjorie Phillips of Edmonton; one brother-in-law Grant Orr of Red Deer and a sister-in-law Nellie Fleming of Kelowna, B.C.; twenty-two nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Milt was an ordained Minister for fifty-five years and was devoted to his calling. He loved being a pastor, people helper, councillor and friend. A Memorial celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 30 at the Edmonton German Church of God, 8928 - 83 Avenue, Edmonton, with Pastor Ken Smatlak and Pastor Ben Seutter officiating. Interment will take place in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 16102 Fort Road, Edmonton, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Church of God, 9224 - 82 Street, Edmonton, Alberta, T6C 2X3 for dispersal or to the charity of choice. CINNAMOND - Gilbert Cinnamond, beloved husband of Marie Cinnamond of Calgary, passed away at his home on Friday, June 27, 1997 at the age of 67 years. Gilbert was born on December 24, 1929 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Besides his loving wife Marie, Gilbert is survived by his sons and daughters, John and his wife Sylvia, Linda and her husband Gary, Elaine and her husband Danny, and Andrew and his wife Barbara; as well as eight grandchildren, Jesse, Ryan, Christina, Amber, Michael, Katie, Joey and Matthew. Gilbert is also survived by his brothers, Billy and his wife Ruth of Australia, Nelson and his wife Evelyn of Ireland; his sister Shirley and her husband Bobby of Toronto, ON; as well as a large extended loving family. BAXTER - Elmina Ruth Baxter passed away on Saturday, June 14, 1997 at the Sarcee Auxiliary Hospital, her home for the last three years, under the care of the loving staff on the Second Floor, for which the family will be forever grateful. "Mina" was always active in community affairs, serving on the Board of the Knox United Church Women and the Women's Canadian Club, and in a volunteer capacity with the Canadian Red Cross, The Cancer Society and Meals on Wheels. She also enjoyed curling and bowling as a member of the Glencoe Club for many years. Born on September 27, 1901 in Rosenfield, Manitoba, she was predeceased by her husband Bob in 1958, also a brother Carl, and a sister Vera Schopp. She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy and her husband George Morrison, and Ann and her husband Bill Dalgleish; her good friend Joe Korczynski; and her kind and faithful caregiver Dixie Visser. Also survived by five grandchildren, Ann and her husband George Palmer, Scott and his wife Kandice, Nancy and her husband Douglas Colborne, Wendy Morrison, Joe and his wife Sarah; as well as seven great-grandchildren, Jeff and Kristie Moore, Lindsay and Keltie Morrison, and Stephen, Tom and Gregg Colborne. Mina is also survived by two sisters, Irene Hindson of Viscount, Saskatchewan, and Viola Walmsley of Penticton, B.C.; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Schopp of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and Mrs. Bessie Fulton in Scotland; and many nieces and nephews in both Canada and Scotland. A Memorial Service was held in the Chapel at the Sarcee Auxiliary Hospital, on Wednesday, June 18, 1997 with Rev. Bart Dailley and Rev. Arnie Chamberlain officiating. BAXTER - Rose Christina Baxter of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview Hospital on October 7, 1997 at the age of 69 years. She was a native Calgarian and lived here all of her life. She is survived by her beloved husband Robert Randolf; and her two loving daughters, Judy and her husband Minoru Ueda, and Lynda and her husband Steve Conway; and her sister Jessie Laverick. BAYNE - Mr. Thomas (Radar) Bayne of Calgary, Alberta passed away suddenly as the result of a motorcycling accident on October 15, 1997 at the age of 41 years. HICKEY - Malcolm James (Mike) Hickey passed away at the Glenmore Auxiliary Hospital on July 8, 1997 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 61. Mike was employed with the City of Calgary Parking Authority. Survived by his wife Linda of Calgary; one brother Bob and his wife Marilyn of Boiestown, NB; two sisters, Pat Dickeson, and Laura and her husband James Reid, all of Fredericton; also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Lorena (Gibson) Hickey of Boiestown. No Visitation by request. HILL - Doris Eileen Hill, passed away at the Bowcrest Nursing Home on Tuesday, November 25, 1997 at the age of 92 years. She will always be dearly loved by her daughter-in-law Grace; her three grandsons, Robert, Brian and Gary. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Melville Hill in 1980 and her son Robert Norman (Bob) Hill in 1993. A private Interment will take place in Toronto. HILL - Robert Dunsmore (Bob) Hill, born March 28, 1922 at Nanaimo, B.C., passed away at the Foothills Hospital December 27, 1997 with his beloved wife Laura at his side. Besides his wife Laura, he is survived by his dearly loved daughters of Sidney, B.C., Maureen Maxwell and Sheila Gray; and most loved grandson Nolan Gray; Laura's daughter Linda (Stan). He was predeceased by his brother Donald, and his parents, Joseph and Margaret Hill. Bob attended Balmoral School and also Crescent Heights High School. In March 1943, Bob joined the Calgary Street Railway as a street car conductor, then a bus and trolley driver. Robert retired March 22, 1977 after thirty-four years of service with badge No. 1. In 1993, Bob was the proud recipient of a gold plaque for fifty years as a loyal member of the Amalgamated Transit Union Calgary, Local 583. In his younger years, Bob was an avid bowler and participated in many other sports. One of Bob's greatest pleasures was his association with various trailer clubs. Funeral Services will be held at Centre Street Evangelical Church (4120 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, December 31, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association (No. 114, 1212 - 1 Street S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 0G8), or the charity of your choice.
