He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Sarah and Melissa; his parents, Ingeborg and Joachim; his brother Herbert; sister Rita (Bromma); and four nephews. He will be sadly missed by all those whose lives he touched. SCHWENGLER - Mr. Tony Schwengler, beloved husband of Mrs. Barbara Schwengler of Beiseker, passed away at the Three Hills Regional Health Care Centre on June 18, 1997 after a lengthy illness, at the age of 87 years. Born in Winnifred, Alberta, Tony moved to the Beiseker area in 1924 and farmed south of Beiseker until his retirement in 1967 when he moved to Beiseker. In 1971 he married Barbara Silbernagel. Besides his loving wife, Tony is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Jean of Beiseker; two grandchildren, Murray, and Ron and his wife Mary Anne; two great-grandchildren, Nicole and Danielle; a brother Simon Schwengler; and a sister Katie Kiprick, both of Beiseker. He is also survived by Barbara's family, Delores and Don McGowan of Vancouver, Marilyn and Jack Matthisen of Anchorage, Alaska, Gerry and Joyce Silbernagel of Calgary; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Julia in 1954. CHERRY - Mrs. Irene Cherry (nee Pankewich), beloved wife of Mr. Richard Cherry of Calgary, passed away after a lengthy illness, at the Rosedale Hospice on June 4, 1997, at the age of 71 years. Irene was born in Lamont, Alberta and was raised as a child in Edmonton. She married Richard in Edmonton on February 16, 1946 and together were blessed with a beautiful marriage of fifty-one years. In 1958, they moved to Calgary together with their family. She devoted her life to her husband and family. Besides her loving husband, Irene is survived by a son Lloyd Richard; a daughter and son-in-law, Lynn Ellen and Douglas Dry, all of Calgary; as well as a grandson Scott Douglas Dry. She is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Alex and May Pankewich, and Stan and Mavis Pankewich, and their families, all of Edmonton. CHETNER - Mrs. Rose Chetner passed away peacefully at the Beverly Care Centre on October 26, 1997 at the age of 98 years. Rose was predeceased by her husband Israel in 1973, her son-in-law Al Viner, granddaughter Robin and her husband Allen Goldstein. She is survived by her daughters, Belle Viner of Calgary and Dorothy and her husband Sam Belzberg of Montreal. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Ian and Marsha Viner of Calgary, Lynn Viner of Montreal, Marilyn Belzberg of Montreal, Brian and Shirley Belzberg of Toronto, Allan and Lorinda Belzberg of Baltimore; as well as thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family wish to express their appreciation to the Beverly Care Centre for their special care to our "Mom" and very special thanks to Linda Sylvester. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor's choice. FOWLOW - McCAFFREY - Barbara Ann Fowlow-McCaffrey, beloved wife of Mr. Tom McCaffrey, and mother of Theresa and Steven, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on June 11, 1997, after a courageous battle with brain cancer at the age of 36 years. Barbara was born in St. John's, Newfoundland on October 10, 1960. Barbara is survived by her mother Olive; and sister Jackie (Gordon) Squires of St. John's, Newfoundland; and her brother Jim (Gail) Fowlow of Hong Kong. She also leaves to mourn her passing, sister-in-law Linda (Peter) Schreurs; and three brothers-in-law, Bill (Janice) McCaffrey, Don McCaffrey of Calgary, and Doug (Danielle) McCaffrey of St. Albert; her mother-in-law Patricia (Patrick) McCaffrey of Calgary; and father-in-law Tom (Lois) McCaffrey of Sherwood Park; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. FOX - Alfred Fox, beloved husband of Mrs. Lillian Fox of Carbon, AB, passed away at the Drumheller District Hospital on December 15, 1997 at the age of 83 years. He is the loving father to Carol Ann Fox of Carbon, AB; and brother to William (Nancy) Fox of Vancouver, B.C. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers, Ernie and Benjamin, and by his sister Margaret Lowther. Alfred was born in Drumheller on March 4, 1914 and lived most of his life in Carbon where he owned and operated coal mines for many years. He was a member of the Carbon Masonic Lodge since 1961 and served a term as Deputy Grand Master. Alfred served on the Carbon Village Council for three years, followed by a three year term as Mayor. He was an avid hockey fan and baseball fan. Alfred will be fondly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. FOX - On November 11, 1997, Elizabeth Fox passed away, aged 86 years. She will be sadly missed by her four children, Alice (Glenn) Bishell of Carstairs, AB, Mavis (Dave) Wild of Hardisty, AB, Joyce (Jim) Reynolds of Fernie, BC, Alex (Pat) Fox of Stony Plain, AB; eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brother Bruce (Claris) Ryrie of Innisfail, AB; sister-in-law Marion Ryrie of Calgary, AB; and numerous extended family members and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Ada and Alex Ryrie, husband Earl, sisters, Nellie and Eva, as well as brother Henry.
