- Shop now for incredible insights into your wellbeing -SEGAL - Hyman Isipore (Hye), beloved husband of Minnie of Cathedral City, California, passed away suddenly at the Desert Hospital, Palm Springs, on May 24, 1997 at the age of 73. Besides his loving wife, Hye is survived by three sons and two daughters. He is the loving father of Perla of Sidney, B.C., Nathan of Vancouver, B.C., Golda-Miriam of Oslo, Norway, Perry of Los Angeles, CA, Jamie of Moose Jaw, Sask.; one grandchild Jennifer and husband Alex. He is also survived by his mother Rebecca; sister Gertie Gross and husband Sam; his brother Harold and wife Val, his brother Jerry; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Joseph and his sister Marjorie. Hye was a jeweller-watchmaker for forty-two years, twenty of which were spent in Calgary as owner of Classic Jewellers Ltd. In 1973 he was voted Jeweller of the Year for Alberta and B.C. While in Calgary he was a member of the Beth Israel Synagogue, B'nai B'rith and the Jewish War Veterans Association. He had a pair of talented hands and he was willing to help anyone who needed him. He was a regular Mr. Fixit. Wherever he lived, he always left things better than he received them. To all of us he was a true and loyal friend. We will miss him. Funeral Services were held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, 1702 - 17 Avenue S.W. on Thursday, May 29, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. Interment was at Erlton Street Cemetery, Erlton Street and 30 Avenue S.W. SEIDEL - Mrs. Marjorie Jean Seidel (nee West) of Calgary, passed away peacefully into God's loving hands on Tuesday, December 9, 1997, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the the age of 57 years. Born August 21, 1940 in Cranbrook, B.C., she married Gilbert Seidel and moved to Calgary in 1962. She is survived by her loving husband Gilbert; her three daughters, Karen and special friend Dan McLafferty, Jean and Michael Seymour, and Linda; her three grandchildren, Allyson, Matthew and Lindsay Seymour; her brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Lynn West; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and will be sadly missed by all that knew her. DICKIESON - Terry, beloved husband of Barbara (Bobbi), passed away following a courageous fight with leukemia, on October 25, 1997 at the age of 54 years. Besides his loving wife, Terry is survived by a daughter Kimberley Dickieson; a daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Harvey Cunningham; a granddaughter Jordan, who was "the apple of his eye"; as well as his soon to be born second grandchild. Predeceased by his father Charles in 1982, he is also survived by his mother Mary Dickieson; and his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Neil Fimrite. SNIDEMAN - Mrs. Adina Snideman of Red Deer, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, on Thursday, June 26, 1997 at the age of 74 years. Mrs. Snideman retired in 1987 after nineteen years with A.G.T. and was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers. She is survived by four children, Sharon (Jim) Huse and their son Clint of Ponoka, Dan Snideman and his sons, Micheal and Jonathon, Dick (Brenda) Snideman and their sons, Devon and Bryan, Lil (Brad) Boulding and their children, Jamie and Patrick, all of Red Deer; great-granddaughter Taylor Marie Huse; sister Em Crowe of Calgary; brothers, Ron Shawcross and his wife Evelyn, and Verd Shawcross and his wife Brenda of Victoria, British Columbia; sister-in-law Opal Harrison of Calgary; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson Brent Huse. Funeral Services will be held from the "67th Street Chapel" of the RED DEER FUNERAL HOME on Monday, June 30, 1997 at 2:00 p.m., conducted by the Venerable Archdeacon Derek Hoskin. SNOWDON - Mrs. Jean Bruce Snowdon of Calgary, passed away peacefully, quietly, and with dignity at the Rockyview General Hospital on Sunday, October 19, 1997 at the age of 78 years. Jean was born on November 14, 1918 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; the only child of Alex and Martha Douglas. She attended the University of Wisconsin, graduating in 1940 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Jean met Herb Snowdon during World War II while Herb was serving in the RCAF. They were married in Coburg, Ontario on August 17, 1944. After Herb returned from overseas, they returned to Calgary where they raised their four children. Jean was a very active sportswoman throughout her life and served in many capacities with both ladies golf and curling associations. Jean also served a term as president of the Canadian Ladies Curling Association. Jean was honored by the Province of Alberta in 1982 for her contributions to the sport of curling and was also inducted into Canada's Curling Hall of Fame. Jean played golf at the Turner Valley Golf Club well into her seventy-seventh year. Jean was an avid bridge player, enjoying this pursuit right until her admission to hospital in early October. Mrs. Snowdon is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Claire of Calgary, and Jim and Debbie of Edmonton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Tom Wrightsell of Ottawa, and Nancy and Brian Barr of Edmonton; nine grandchildren; one brother-in-law Cornelius Snowdon of Edmonton; and one sister-in-law Cathy Snowdon of Calgary; as well as many nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband Herbert Henry (Herb) Snowdon in 1985. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Park Memorial Chapel" (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Friday, October 24, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with the Right Rev. Gary F. Woolsey of St. Peter's Anglican Church officiating. SNYDER - Edith Mary Snyder of Calgary passed away at the Glenmore Park Auxiliary Hospital on June 12, 1997 at the age of 77 years. She is the loving mother of two daughters and a son-in-law, Muriel, Norma and Al Wooldridge, all of Calgary; and two grandchildren, Kimberlee and Melissa. Edith is also survived by a sister Gladys Fisher of Brandon, Manitoba; and a sister-in-law Edith Pieper of Kelowna, B.C. She was predeceased by her husband Norman, as well as three sisters and a brother. Graveside Services will be held in the Eldon Cemetery north of Gilbert Plains, Manitoba on Tuesday, June 17, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. with Mrs. Ilene Dowd officiating.
